And that's why Kellen Moore is riding the pine in the NFL. If Kellen Moore was as good as all you BSU fanboys want to believe, he would have emerged as a legit QB in the NFL. Kapernick is a good example of this. He came from a smaller college program, got drafted in the 2nd round, and ultimately emerged as a premier QB in the NFL. Simply put, Moore just doesn't have the arm strength to start 16 games a year in the NFL. He might suffice as a journeyman backup, and that's about it.
When the PAC 10 was looking to expand to 12, I figured Boise State would have jumped on the opportunity. I guess they didn't want shit to do with USC, Oregon, Oregon State, Stanford, or UCLA. So they considered the pushover Big East conference 3000 miles away before finally settling for total mediocrity back in the Mountain West. Do you really expect an NFL owner to cut a 10 Million dollar check to a kid right out of college who has only played against top tier talent once or twice a year?
Kyle Brotzman still holds the record for most FGs at BSU and had one bad game in Nevada. If you are depending on a kicker to win the game for you than you’re not playing well enough to win. People forget it’s a team game. One person doesn’t win or lose a game for you.
I'm not a BSU fan per se, but I do think they get snubbed from BCS games (not necessarily the title game) when they have had a legitimate claim to it as a way to force them to realign. I'm not saying they always deserve to be in a BCS bowl or have necessarily deserved a title bid, but there have been a few years when they should have gotten an at-large bid based on their end of regular season ranking and how well they played even in their loses. But, that's the BCS for you, not perfect.
Smartest user on youtube here.. Which clearly means, I'm sure you are not the brightest tool in the shed when it comes to knowledge of the game of football, and Osweillers career. But whatever you can tell yourself if you decide to comment because I know it will be some dumb bias idiocy.
@BroncoNation25 you do realize the only thing boise state has to do to get into a bcs bowl (even though they never have and never will deserve one) is win their conference which you haven't done in the past 2 years tcu deserved a bcs bowl over you because they did the one thing they were required to do WIN THEIR CONFERENCE they didn't do it so therefore they don't deserve it you bsu fans need to learn football and need to learn about how college football works
Kellen Moore did extremely bad at the combine. His forty time was slow, his vertical was low, he only completed 8 passes to the receivers at the combine and was overrated in college...... he didn't deserve to be drafted. Brock Osweiller had a hell of a career in ASU, setting and breaking multiple school records.
@morphiusmaximi yeah but alabama is in a bcs conference THE SEC so they don't have to win their conference to get into a bcs bowl you broncos who are in a non bcs conference have to win their conference to get to a bcs bwol you need to learn how college football works
This one game proved how STUPID Division I's way of picking a champion--instead of playing for it, SUCKS. Only sport in America where they try to DECREASE participation in a true post-season.
I can't believe Denver drafted Brock Osweiller in the 3rd round, and Kellen Moore didn't even get drafted... Those scouts are blind, and Denver is STUPID to pick Osweiller over Moore.
@BroncoNation25 Yeah you are right about that, specially considering Boise and Sparty start the season this year, would of been an out with the old in with new game series. Plus Sparty and Boise State would of filled the Sugar Bowl.
Welcome to Gator Nation Brent Pease!!! You have been a part of a sepcial program in Boise and now you are a part of another one in Gainesville. We are very excited to bring the Boise O to the SEC. Go Gators and Go Broncos!!
What you don't understand is that a program can be brought into a new conference with "associate" status.BSU's football team had a legitimate chance to enter the PAC with associate status. Full membership would have been a possibility down the road. The rest of BSU's athletic teams would likely not have made the transition. But, BSU's football program showed absolutely no interest in making the transition to the PAC. That's when Utah stepped in and made a convincing case for themselves.
@gweedozedo Nice work ,,,, I don't know how you could not say something while recording it .. I always say the worst things ) good job I'll pass them around.
You forget Kapernick has the prototypical body type for an NFL QB and the arm strength to go with it. Kellen Moore was a fine college QB who likely would have put up solid numbers in a more competitive conference like the PAC or even the SEC. However, the days of Doug Flutie sized QBs in the NFL are long gone. Defensive personnel continues to get faster, and the passing windows keep getting smaller. The throws offensive coordinators are asking their QB's to make require elite arm strength.
this was bsu's 1 good bowl win the last 5 years..thats it...other then that haven't really played or beat anyone good, face it bsu's good days are over you'll have to rely on wins now from your terrible conference which sucks this year....how many teams in it are ranked btw?, based on top 25 teams right now...im struggling to find any...even on average since 2000..how many teams in any of bsu's conferences have been ranked? yeah 1 every 2 years max or 3 years...normally its Utah state or byu or something...and they normally then choke anyway, this year it was san diego state and they got exposed by bsu..so they weren't good anyway..they lost the next week 28-3 in a blowout to fresno state..that tells me they arn't that great and were over ranked in the rankings...
BSU has always tried to get the toughest schedule they can, however with bigger conferences having school requirements and big names not wanting to risk rank in a loss or prove nothing in a win, BSU is stuck with weaker schedules. It's a vicious cycle.
thats like half the NCAA in a sense as the SEC and ACC run the NCAA and im sure another SEC or ACC team will win the nat' title again unless oklahoma does it from the big 12
According to commissioner Larry Scott, BSU had a legit chance to get in. It's too bad BSU didn't work with Scott to get the invite. I guess BSU was content to beat up on the Sisters of the Poor. Scott said, “When we expanded in the past we looked at [San Diego State] and [Boise State] because they are prominent schools in the West, with very strong athletics programs, in markets we are not in," Scott said. "There’s a lot of criteria that we looked at last time, that I’m sure we’d look at again
