I love watching these old episodes I see the history I didn’t start watching until Shelia switched over. I love Brooke and Eric even now. Eric made it clear to Stephanie even back them he married her only because she was pregnant. Ridge and Eric have always loved Brooke!!! And this Brooke wasn’t obsessed with Ridge I wish the writers kept it that way!!!

I watched Beautiful until Eric's relationship with Sheila began. I couldn't stand seeing him with a woman other than Brooke.

Stephanie has truly lost her mind, Susan Flannery has portrayed this entire story line so well. On the one hand as a married woman whose husband had an affair, I so desperatly understand her pain and all of the range of emotions she portrays in this character, however, also as a woman who is about as old as Stephanie was in this year (i'm 55, I think shes around 50 ish) and as a woman who has had pretty good success in my career and one child who is 12 , what I do not share is the feeling of her life would be over without a man who has very clearly moved on. Here is where we differ. Stephanie is extremly well off financialy, she has 4 children (one who passed), she has what I would imagine is a very full life of friends/ clubs/ sits on boards here and there, unlike many women who are in fact left very much alone, broke the character Stephanie is none of these things. While I can imagine the initial shock was quite disconcerting...this woman has had 7 months or so to get her head clear and start to live a new life that doesnt include her husband. This is the part of the storyline that angers me, it makes stephanie extremly selfish and self absorbed. If my mother stood there screaming at me that she has "nothing left in her life" and she has 4 adult children who all love and support her, i'd be kinda ticked, to say the very least. I didn't watch this show back in these early days, I know that the story lines really blossom and stephanie and brooke eventually become best friends, but these early years sure do set up the hostility that is between the two women for many many many years to come.

Its so bizzare to watch these episodes and know that in the future Eric is going to not only marry Brooke, but also Donna (and be with her on/off several times), and even Katie - at some point where she starts having romantic feelings about Eric. And Ridge also ends up with Katie and also with Caroline who I think is Bills granddaughter? I'm confused about who is Carolines Mother ?

So bizzare that taylor, an oncologist seems to be giving out a whole lot of physcotherapy advice...thats so "real life" 😂... i'm going to love how they change her from an oncologist to a phycaterist here in a few years. Margo's been very sick...a bad case of the "flu" cough cough, off having a baby!! So cool that these 2 actors got to be pregnant together at the same time on set and had their babies it seems like pretty close together :)

After watching the beginning season, it is even weirder that Eric got the daughter of his college sweetheart pregnant. Also, I think Stephanie realizes down the road that Eric is a lost cause when it comes to Brooke but Ridge is so easily swayed/manipulated by his mother to choose Taylor (herself) over Brooke. It worked every time Stephanie would meddle but it wouldn't last before Ridge ran back to Brooke again but Stephanie really dedicated her life to it. Any one was better than Brooke. Stephanie even kept Taylor's infidelity a secret from Ridge for years.
