I completely agree, Carol!!! 🎉 It is fun, and exciting! I just received my results from you, and was so surprised to be a true spring! I am having SO MUCH FUN testing out all the juicy corals, peaches, and lively greens! All my life I had been pushing soft mauve and dusty colors on me, but always felt they went flat as soon as they were on me. Talk about pure JOY in putting on a sunset coral red lipstick, and going WOW! Now THERE I am!!!!! I'm new to the season adjustment journey, but am going to truly enjoy every second! It's something special just for me, and I'm loving it!!! Thank you! ❤

Me too! Loving it! Nothing wrong with muted colours whatsoever, but I just knew that they didn’t do anything for me! i’m looking forward to trying yellow and warm greens more than I ever wanted to wear burgundy or dusty pink. Yay true spring! 😊

Color analysis is supposed to be fun but I imagine there are lots of people with overtly strong opinions that impose those on others and make it not fun.. so thank you for pointing this out. Yay for color analysis! 🎉🎉

what annoys me the most is people will comment something way off and not even justify it.. I eventually did analyse myself correctly (more or less) but it took literal years.. I finally got the analysis from Carol & it’s so great to finally be sure! But strangers online really think they can provide an analysis after looking at a few photos for about a minute! 😂

This is such a great video. I have brown hair, dark hazel eyes and light to medium skin tone. Social media groups tend to insist that this means high contrast. A professional typing has shown that I am low contrast, which makes absolute sense. My results work for me, but I was actually muted in a group for sharing the results of my analysis by an admin who told me that my results were wrong and they muted me for "spreading misinformation"!

I feel like there's a flaw in the logic some people use to determine chroma/intensity, especially when they aren't basing it off draping colours. The common thought is high contrast between features has to need saturated colours, but it totally ignores the fact that people can have have more mutedness in their colouring (more grey in their skin and hair, and a softness in their eye colour), which I think can outweigh the contrast between features.

Wow, crazy that you were muted. I have dark brown hair, dark olive eyes, black eyebrows and fair skin and I am NOT high contrast.
@trishagoodwin4069

@@Myrrkat Yes, I think you have put your finger on several problems. One, they are not basing it on draping. I thought I was some sort of winter until draping, put me firmly in deep autumn; I could see that slightly muted, neutral warm quality. I have gone even more muted with age, there is grey in the green eyes instead of brown now, and of course, some grey in the hair, which is covered with a lighter, less warm shade. I have moved into the lighter deep autumn shades and actually wear a lot of soft autumn colours now too, which seem to suit. If I wear anything too dark, I turn goth like and anything too warm turns my complexion a strange fake tan orange shade!
@anabanana-q5q
@anabanana-q5q Месяц назад
So you had professional results and were muted just for sharing? Wow! I think muting for that reason says a lot tbh. How strange!
@trishagoodwin4069
@trishagoodwin4069 Месяц назад
Yes, I have the same colouring and was draped as deep autumn, which is quite muted. Before the analysis, everyone thought I would be a winter of some sort. In actual fact, those colours wash me out, as I am warm, and deep olives, moss greens, and rust suit me, all slightly muted. @@BlueBird8925

Took me agessss to see, much less accept, that a bright lip and clothes on me actually looks "natural" lol! Now I put on a low chroma color like a very low chroma light summer pastel, or a soft autumn nude, and I'm like oh good lord get it off of me, SOS someone send in the army, this should be extra illegal. It makes it a little more rough to go, for what I used to love, for example going extra bold on the eyes but to wear a nude lip. But I look better with just caked on makeup for all intents and purposes , like black eye liner and shadow, or charcoal at least, with a super hot pink magenta, or bright red. I just want to wear nudes like everyone else, and throw on a balm to go to the grocery store, but it just doesn't hit the same as something like that dark makeup and a bright lip. I think if that's not you odds are bright and clear may not be exactly your thing. But if that's you.... hi, I feel you, I get you, I understand the struggle.😂

I got an analysis about a month ago and was typed as a True Winter, would love to see more videos on what different ways a high contrast season can use their palette:)

I enjoy the groups, it is interesting to see people in different colors and even make comments. But it’s mostly lots of opinions and people rarely agree so if you take it too seriously or let it upset you you should back away. By the way I have seen many positive comments about your color analysis in the chat!

Oh thank goodness on the yellow. I can't seem to wear any version of it. And oddly I also look terrible in icy blues and pale grays. So, my color season is kind of a mystery.

I’m still getting used to the bright and light nature of the true spring palette, but I did notice that my husband always hated bright colours on me, but when I wear the brightest coral or lime green vest top, he doesn’t even seem to notice.. ! because they’re the right *kind* of colour I suppose 😊

Could you kindly explore differences between winter subgroups next? My mother and I are both winters, and while she's obviously a bright winter, I'm a little confused. Our surface skin values are different, where I'm much fairer, and she agrees I can wear additional shades she cannot.

yeah re the groups lol.. I left one temporarily after being arrogantly informed i was mistyped (by you, and i absolutely know you are correct, thankfully! i see it for myself very clearly!) I truly thought people would see the same, but no! 😂 i’m sure i’ve said some rubbish myself too - I do try though. I’m hoping to get the training one day, way into the future, so it’s good practice. But it does annoy me how certain people are that they’re right. Again, easy to do & am sure I have fallen into that trap too. Not trying to say that i’m better whatsoever, it’s probably human nature! 😊

I am as fair as it gets and I thought I must be a deep winter for a long time, because of the high contrast. But I recently saw a photo of myself in a black top against a black background and I realized I have to reassess. The shadows on my face seemed too heavy, and my eyes and lips aren't that dark. I can totally pull off the look with bold lipstick, so it's not a total loss! Still trying to figure my colours out. I like trying new colours so it's fun 😊

I am a warm spring and yes coral and lime are bright but the aren't on me. They harmonize and click with my colors.

I find this in the opposite. I have friends who are bright palettes on whom a lipstick looks pale or medium, and when I (true summer) try it, it looks neon. I can’t get over the difference skin tone and contrast variations make.
@Myrrkat

I'm high contrast but I don't believe its my dominant feature - I know I'm cool toned, and I have fair skin and dark brown hair and eyes - nearly black, but not true black. Growing up, wearing light colours always felt weird and like I was off balance, and lately I've really noticed that bright colours distract from me. Wearing all black isn't a struggle for me, I don't look washed out and instead it tends to put my face in focus. I'm fairly certain I'm a Deep Winter now. I know true black is not necessarily Deep Winter's 'best' black, but when it comes to the reality of buying clothing, it's hard to find nuanced blacks. I've also always gravitated to the deeper jewel tones, but I didn't want to make assumptions based on my preferences, although now I think my preferences were guided by naturally feeling those other colours were off.

I’m in a FB colour group but it’s kind of a waste of time as opinions are so varied and non consistent. It’s rare that everyone agrees.

i have a question, which palette has the most different looking people with different backgrounds and looks? the question might sound superficial i know, but like, is there a palette that has people with various coloring?
@claire-zm5bv
@claire-zm5bv 3 месяца назад
i guess winter?? because it has people of dark and fair skin tones with cool undertones, which can look yellow with a greenish look(yellow overtone and blue undertone), also obviously blueish ones, rosy/lilac skins too, a LOT of skin types tones fall in the cool category(its definitely the most common undertone) and the darker eye and hair colors are more common too(high contrast) so everything kinda points to winter being the most common and the biggest group of people
@sfxgamer2594
@sfxgamer2594 3 месяца назад
@@claire-zm5bv yeah i agree, winters can have all types of skin (olive, dark, and light) with various overtones and eye colors...but winters have dark hair and it's hard to find blondes, or gingers but it doesn't matter as they make up a small percentage overall
@trishagoodwin4069
@trishagoodwin4069 3 месяца назад
@@sfxgamer2594 I would say there are vast differences between people in all groups! I am a deep autumn and a lot in this group have golden or deep skin, but many like me have very fair, only slightly warm skin, and all shades and tones inbetween. I have olive green eyes, but have known deep autumns with blue eyes and brown eyes as well.

lol, I once found one of her clients in a facebook group, sharing her True Spring result, and people were like "There's no way you're a Spring with that dark brown hair. @@kreator1474as a true spring with brown hair I find that so annoying! that’s one reason why it took so long for the “penny to drop” - because i don’t look that much like a stereotypical spring!
