This was so helpful! My picture here shows me with my naturally whitening hair. I say whitening because as a redhead we tend to go white rather than gray. After receiving my color analysis result from you, I decided to dye my hair back to what it was around the age of 20, which is red. As a warm spring, it just looks better on me and it added a TON of vibrancy. But, there will come a time when I just don't want to do that anymore, and I love that you're supporting women in doing what's right for them!

All the info in this post is based on my training and experience using the colour analysis system I use which harmonizes your natural skin characteristics, natural hair colour and eyes with your colour analysis result. I hope this post helps you if you have naturally darker hair and have rushed to rule out Spring or Summer and/or ruled in Light Spring or Light Summer. Disclaimer: Out of thousands and thousands of clients from around the world there may have been to date a very small handful given a Light Summer or Light Spring result with a natural hair colour in med to deep range but this would be a VERY VERY RARE scenario and those clients would have received a special explanation 💕⭐️🎨 #carolbrailey #coloranalysis #colouranalysis #sparkle #undertone #naturalbeauty #authenticity #colouranalysistok #coloranalysistok #personalcoloranalysis #personalcolouranalysis #colorseasons #colourseasons #darkhair

I was blonde at 20 - but I think I’m a bright spring as the brighter colours look so much better - on me than true spring and light spring. Is there another variation of spring that has the really bright colours minus the dark ones?
@nisaandini844

Spring season it self is bright and warm (the most bright season from all 4), the thing is when you are bright spring, then means in the system Carol use you will be also looks good in very intense, COOL color of winter If you are feel off with cool color, then it is not your coloring The easiest way to tell is trying to record yourself in day, wrap your self with many fabric and see the result on your own face and skin But also remember, when you are not professional, there is likely to be biased opinion because you like some color no matter what it looks like on you Beside, every color analysis system is different too In Carol, there is a chance you could be true spring or warm spring or plot twist true summer

I called myself a blonde, when I first found out about color analysis, but my hair was strawberry blonde, or golden with a lot of red under it, when I was younger. I didn’t call myself a redhead, because I had a carrot-top parent, but it’s really in-between. I, too, feel more comfortable in the brighter Spring colors. I can’t wear the darker Bright Spring colors. I was determined to be Light Spring, by color analysis, but I should have used a photo of my hair at age 20, as Carol recommends. I think I might have been called a True Spring, in Carol’s system. In this video, Carol is saying that you should be comfortable in colors from your sister season, as well as your own. For Springs, if you could only wear Summer, Autumn, or Winter colors, which would suit you best? If say Summer, you’re probably Light Spring (maybe True Spring?). If you say Autumn, True Spring or Warm Spring. If you chose Winter, you’re Bright Spring. At least, that’s my understanding. At this point in my life, I would probably choose Summer, but I might have said something different, when I was younger. Probably Autumn, so the chances of me being Bright Spring (in the 16-season system Carol uses) are quite low. I do still concur with your statement about bright colors. I even feel comfortable in the lighter neons (except the darker neon purple and electric blue, and certain intense neon yellows). I think that, as Carol said, Spring is bright, in itself. Maybe there are certain people who lean toward the brighter end of our palettes. I admit, I have wondered if that group constitutes a critical mass that doesn’t fit well into the existing subtypes, sometimes. By Carol’s reasoning, we should fit somewhere in the four Spring subtypes, or Light Summer, or True Summer, with blonde hair. She mentioned from 7.5, or dark blonde, as a guideline. On the Rusk conversion chart, my hair is probably in the “Copper Gold” range between 9 and 7, with 9 being lighter. If yours is just blonde, it should be on every chart, somewhere from 7.5 or higher, as a few omit red. If you’re right around that 7.5 (Dark Blonde) level, or below, I take it Bright Spring could also be possible, as it’s close enough to Autumn or Winter.

@@carolbrailey. My hair was Light Strawberry, or Golden Strawberry, at 20, but I had the same questions about what defines the different Spring Subtypes. I don’t want to believe I’m a subtype I’m not, because dressing in the wrong palette would only dull my shine. What I love about color analysis is it proves there is no wrong color to be! I had an online analysis, but didn’t really understand the results, at first. I wasn’t sure how my dominant characteristic was determined, or if I agreed with it. The three were Light, Bright, and Warm, in that order (Light Spring). I think a lot of us question our subtype, when we don’t look good in some of the palette. However, the piece about sister seasons does help. If I could wear only Light Summer colors, or only Bright Winter colors for the rest of my life, I would probably do better with Light Summer. What would really help is if experts were in agreement about what defines different seasons. I saw a video, where a blonde WAS determined to be a Winter, by a color analysis professional. That’s what makes it confusing. Overall, I trust the system you use more. I think I’m probably a Light Spring, who leans toward the brighter end of the Light Spring palette. Either that, or a True Spring. Maybe that’s why some Light Spring pastels seem to drain me. When I was younger, I gravitated toward Spring, clear Summer, and Autumn colors. You give good advice to use a photo of your hair, at age 20, for a color analysis. I did not do that. My hair looks blonder than it did, at 20, due to the addition of gray. A lot of people used to say I was a redhead or strawberry blonde, because it looked redder, then. I’m pretty happy with my results. If they’re not exact, I’m sure they’re not far off. If I ever have the budget for a second opinion, I will ask you to do it!

We were taught at art college (even before I knew anything about colour analysis) that people tend to design in colours that are in their own colouring. Also customers would choose colours that were in their colouring, so we had to take all colour groups into consideration when designing clothing ranges or furnishing ranges. I do think it works in general, but not always, many people have little awareness of their own colouring and just go for what is in fashion or what appeals. In the home, you often have two people with different colouring too, my husband loves blues, being a summer and I hate them, being an autumn, but he cannot stand warm shades. We have compromised with warm colours on a dark navy background and teal sofas (blue but autumnish) and duck egg with gold in other rooms.

I'm having so much fun building up a new wardrobe after getting my results from you, Carol 😃 Doing this analysis was part of a self-development thing for me. I used to be very depressed and didn't take care of myself at all. I recently turned my life around by quitting my dead-end job and started studying again. My result was true spring, and I think it's cool that spring also symbolises "a new beginning".

It can still be way off if too bright maybe. Soft orange looks ok on me, for example, but full Autumn orange is off. Soft Summer looks more harmonious on me than Cool Summer. That's because soft is more important on me than cool. So it makes sense that bright orange is way off?

Yes, that happened to me Carol, when I got diagnosed as a deep autumn a few decades ago. The analyst said she could not tell on initially looking at me, whether I was deep winter or deep autumn, it was so close. I actually went in, thinking I might be a winter of some sort, as I preferred the colours. However, the dark warm colours looked so much better on me, and although my hair was very dark then, with only a slight warmth, my hair had been warm reddish brown as a child, with golden brown eyes. I could then see that I had always had warmth, and why I looked so washed out in the pink, mauve and grey garments my husband (he is a true summer) sometimes bought me, but great in rusts, olives and such like, which I didn't initially like at all. Once I could see I looked so much better, I took to them big time, and he had to be slowly re-educated, bless him!

What color would you describe your sisters hair as? Mine looks just the same in daylight, and I find it hard to describe. Honey blonde? It even seems to have golden or bronzey color to it as well, or even slightly reddish tones, but those descriptors clash with my idea of coolness. Although, I guess you said light summer can wear light yellow gold, which I didn’t realize. Most people as an adult meeting me, especially in indoor lighting, think my hair is “brown”, especially compared to my VERY light haired children. They make comments about where did they get their hair from, when my hair was just the same as a child. Since I don’t dye my hair to Swedish blonde, they think my hair is not blonde. But before dying was so popular, I think I would have been considered blonde 🤷‍♀️. A few people even think I’m red haired, but I’m definitely not nearly full red 😂

I’ve analyzed myself as a true spring and also analyzed a bunch of other people in these groups but she’s right that it’s way harder in real life. Honestly it’s because real hair, skin and eye colors appear much more mixed and colorful in real life. You rarely look at a person in real life and think, wow they look so cool-toned. That is easier to see on photos for some reason.
@trishagoodwin4069
@trishagoodwin4069 8 дней назад
I think that is why it is so important to test with draping, either in person, or online by an expert. Photos tend to even out tones and can be very inaccurate (my father was a professional photographer). They say the camera never lies, but often it does.
@notblondeswede
@notblondeswede 8 дней назад
@@trishagoodwin4069 I find photos are using several photos with drapes very useful to analyze people. I follow Carols guidance and checkmarks when doing this. I think I help others get closer and sometimes find their season and never say something I'm not sure of. I also do digital draping. This is all in my free time for fun. It also helps myself when I'm shopping because I bought way too cool and muted colors before and have to be constantly conscious not to do this when shopping, also not to pick winter colors or something with an undertone that is slightly off. Going through all these motions in my own color analysis journey helped me become a better analyst, helped me in paying attention to the colors of the fabrics and what it does to people's skin. Everything fades in comparison to the skin.
