Bold Park Community School is an independent school located in Western Australia. At the core of their philosophy are the rights of children, and for children to be able to engage with and participate in learning environments that promote respect, reflectivity, creativity, imagination, problem-solving and participation in community life. As you tour the school, you will be drawn to the unique ways in which space is used to speak to children, of how educators engage children in truly holistic ways, and of how respectful the teaching team are of children’s ideas and thinking. The school was founded on the ideas of the Reggio Emilia educational project as a way of ensuring that children experienced and maintained a joy of learning.
Nicole and her team take us on a tour of their school, sharing the wonders of the outdoor wild spaces, and the way in which resources are presented to and used by children of all ages in multiple ways.
