@@LettsReact love your reactions but that’s a bit of a an over simplification that’s like a republican saying “The USSR and Venezuela let their people die and starve trying to achieve total power through communism and socialism. No economic system is evil their are however evil people who would try to abuse the system wether it’s capitalist or democratic socialist. I don’t blame capitalism for today’s issue more than I blame the lack information given to children about how it works example schools teach you to work hard but don’t give any of the reward that comes from working hard out of school if we placed reward systems outside of grades (no school on Fridays if 4.0 GPA or something a long the lines) the more information about how capitalism works as a society the less likely you are to screwed over in the long term
Fun fact: the audience audio was actually recorded at the Korra Panel at comic con the year before this came out. Andrea Romano, the voice acting coach, was there and she instructed the audience to react the right way. So those cheers and gasps aren’t sound bits, but an actual crowd
yeah, especially when we just got asami and mako a few eps earlier, like i was confused they are pushing bolin and asami xD i mean basami kinda look cute, but i saw no tension there
SPOILERS There are definitely flaws but those were largely due to behind-the-scenes bullshit at Nickelodeon. With those constraints in mind, Korra is the best it can possibly be. Books 3 and 4 were the parts that weren't as rushed and are better as a result, but Books 1 and 2 are both fine. On TLA, Book 1 is my least favorite because of all of the filler, but I feel like filler would have made all four books of Korra so much better. In Book 1, episode 8 could have been split into two parts where Team Avatar could have spent the first one fighting equalists, and the second would have been Team Avatar getting arrested and Korra confronting Tarrlok. In Book 3, they could have added an episode between 2 and 3 where Tenzin tries to train Kai in airbending but he's too impatient to get very far. Stuff like that.
The only way that Mako could've salvaged his relationship with Asami is to immediately explain the situation to Korra in private and be firm that they aren't together anymore (and that he's with Asami.) He could say that he didn't tell her right away because he didn't want her to be embarrassed in front of that crowd.
@@Aaron-hv4hr eh, she's fighting to save the entire world and the clock is ticking. Why give her something else to worry about? I'd wait until after harmonic convergence.
The only defense I have for Mako (in that moment) is that he didn't want to embarrass Korra in front of all those people, so he didn't say anything. What I can't defend is him not immediately pulling her aside to say "Look bro, our fight was bad. We're not a thing anymore, savvy?"
Definitely here for the Asami rant. They really did our girl dirty! She's such a great foil to Varric who is the chaotic capitalist guy who thinks the end justifies the means and just lives off the chaotic inventor energy while Asami is almost selflessly devoted to doing good in the world with team Avatar personally as well as using her inventor brain responsibly for the cause and to make the world better rather than just make money at whatever cost. Best girl deserves wayyyyyy better than Mako.
Varrick isn't really evil though. He was supporting the Southern Water Tribe who were the victims who had their country invaded. He was looking to profit from getting Republic City involved on their side. He was doing good for selfish reasons.
My "Kenny must cosplay Bolin/Nuktuk" counter goes up everytime the Kenny = Bolin counter goes up, I swear :D Idk why, but you two radiate the same energy to me :D
I love how passionate you are at defending LOK, I watched ATLA as an adult along with Korra and love them both but prefer LOK style wise and its overall themes.
I watched A:TLA as a kid and Korra as late teen but I love them both. Obviously there are aspects in many ways in which i prefer them differently. But so many people hate on Korra for such stupid reasons, like always comparing it to A:TLA. But that doesn't disprove the fact Korra is still better than 90% of cartoons out now And as an Avatar, I much prefer Korra as a character than Aang by a longshot
I was 9 or 10 years old when for show came out so I grew up with it and I was 18 when legend of korra came out but I'm able to relate to korra the show more than I am to the last air Bender
@@moneylover318 yes! as an adult I've related to Korra on so many more levels then I did with ATLA, not to say I didnt, but the overall tone is much more relatable especially all the nuance about personal and mental health.
Ah yes, Bolin. One of my first ever crushes on a guy. Didn't even realize it at the time bc I was also into Asami and assumed I was straight, but yes Bolin ftw.
7:19 This was me. I didn't even know Avatar existed until I saw Legend of Korra on Nickelodeon and fell in love with it! I never would've seen ATLA without it!
Nuktuk is really Bolin. Bolin is really Nuktuk. Those are some of my takeaway from this episode when I first watched it way back then. ✌😊 Greetings from the Philippines! 👋
Of course Varrick has a battleship. Varrick is literally the personification of Brighton. Just like they say ''If it doesn't exist in Brighton, it doesn't exist.'', I think it's safe to say ''If Varrick doesn't have it, no one does.''
He's in a couple with a gorgeous woman, I don't think he's gay lol. Could be bi/pan but if they want to discuss that part of their lives they will but until then let's just enjoy let's react and think of the beautiful babies they would give the world!
@@mariosmatzoros3553 I think it plays a part in it, maybe it's not the full reason but work as bullet point reasons. The previous protagonist is a white/asian boy that was really carefree, goofy and kind, while Korra is exactly the opposite. They don't understand the spirit might be the same, but they have totally different personalities. I like Korra and Aang for different reasons, and I don't think it would be a true sequel if the new protagonist is just a copycat of the old protagonist. It is the same reason as why I don't like Boruto, I don't want the Avatars to make the same choices or have the same personality, that's boring AF.
I think most people would agree that Season 2 is not the best season in the Avatar series. However there are absolutely worthwhile moments, and without the events of S2 the story wouldn't be the same. While I personally find the writing flawed in several aspects, but I think the animation and the voice acting are still top notch. Absolutely worth sticking through the journey! So thanks for continuing these great videos :)
Asami: Exists Kenny and Montana: Spend a minute simping over her and lamenting why the writer make her go through tons of shit Me: I like the cut of these people's jib.
Korra is about to go into harmonic convergence where she might have to fight Vatuu for the fate of the world. If I was Mako I wouldn’t want to add any stress to her either. Afterward I can break the news to her.
I am really trying to watch every reaction video of every episode of TLOK on time as it premieres, but it's at 1:00 AM of every Monday here in the Philippines when every reaction video of every episode is out and premiering. That's just the power of time differences from country to country and time zones to time zones. ✌😁
@@haneenhugaz5142 Wow! 😮 That's even way past midnight and almost early morning. Have a nice day there in Australia! ✌😁 Hope you're all healthy, safe, and secured there. 👋😊
@@hannahlara1752 well, he did once the world was saved, I wouldnt have broken up with my girlfriend if i needed her to be fully concentrated on keeping the world balanced
Most people that say that this season is bad are people that *don't even make an opinion by themselves* , they heard it was bad and they don't want to have a different opinion so they say it too without even thinking, most of it is great, the problem is: the animation of the 2/3 of this season is not as good, (but still decent) but they kept great animation for the five last episodes; the return of the love triangle, but it could have been worse ; Korra hasn't evolved much for the first half, but she has now, but people retain only the bad part because *humans* ... and Unalaq is a full villainous villain, but so was Ozai but everyone love Ozai, it's just that Korra raised the stakes with more mature tones, so compared to the other villains he's not as good... But in the end it was a nice villain still I think But there are plenty of good things : Korra and Mako being a bad couple is done purposely so it's great, Bolin arc, Tenzin arc, Asami arc are great too, Varrick is
I agree with you. While I do think this is one of the worse books overall (excluding some moments and episodes, of course), there isn't a single book or episode of Avatar that is bad.
I JUST SAW THIS> When Bolin is focused on himself, he's a daft himbo that wouldn't notice the apocalypse. When he focuses on others, his scope widens. MY BEAUTIFUL BOY>
Kenny and Montana saying Appa is rambunctious is literally me as a veterinary assistant dealing with lots of rambunctious husky doggos and doggos in general every day 😊😊😊
I love your reactions to this show. I know a lot of people hate on Legend of Korra and/or give it a hard time, but I really appreciate how you two view the show and react to it. I also absolutely loved the way you both got flustered over "Ripped Sleeves Bolin"
Montana on Bolin keeping an eye out; “I don’t trust that. Might as well send in Toph!” Um... excuse me Toph would know something was wrong almost immediately and know if something was gonna happen before it even happened. Bolin not so much. 😂
It's honestly so refreshing to see a reaction series for Korra where the reactors actually allow themselves to enjoy what they're watching instead of constantly comparing it to the original Avatar series... and it's even MORE refreshing to see people give season 2 its full respect. I'm admittedly not as hot on the Mako and Bolin storylines this season, but the Korra and Tenzin focused storylines are wonderful and expand the lore so beautifully. The fandom is honestly far too cruel about this season, there's a lot more to admire and enjoy than many claim.
Discovered this channel a few days ago and I am LOVING IT!! I'm watching it on my own and sure, I understand the plot but how you two think about those things and how you almost spot on predict what's going to happen is just absolutely amazing!! I am going to subscribe. I am a little ahead in the series, so I am not going to spoil anything. All I am going to say is: there is a lot going to be happening in book 3. And with "a lot" I MEAN a lot.
Those stones used in pro bending are designed to break on impact, they hurt but its less like getting hit with solid stone and more like a clay target.
