Bolton fan here, thought it was a fantastic atmosphere from both sets of fans, 26,000 for a 3rd division game. I felt gutted that we didn't get the 3 points that I thought we deserved and we needed more than you. However you shown why you deserve to go up as champions, you grind out results regardless. Good luck in the Championship Pompey, hopefully we can join you, most likely the hard way through the play offs!

@@gavinplant2241Yess, we play some really good stuff and have some exciting players, just feels though that we lack that ruthlessness over the course of the season that you and Derby have had more. We've dropped too many points where we should haven't. Anyway, I do believe everything happens for a reason, we will get in the Championship when we're ready. I started following this team in 2016 all the way from the USA. I might be the only fan over here, but I love this team so much! I have only seen 1 promotion in those 8 years, but I get to see another one Tuesday. Fratton Park will be an amazing atmosphere as it always is on Tuesday. All the love from over the Pond!

I’ve been a Pompey fan since the 80s, and I can assure you of something: it’s rarely dull. Portsmouth are one of the most volatile teams in the league in terms of their fortunes. I suspect their natural place is yo-yo-ing between the Premiership and the Championship, but they have never really had stable long-term ownership. The Milan Mandaric period was the closest, but even that ended as a total mess. Hoping that the Eisner period might finally bring some sustainable success. Portsmouth have won the title (twice), won the FA Cup (twice), played in Europe, had some truly world-class stars on their books. But they’ve also been down to the very bottom of the league (twice) and almost gone out of existence. As I say…rarely dull.

Yeah, Derby and Portsmouth are imo both Championship-level clubs with Premiership ambitions. Takes me back to the fun period in the early 90s where Derby bought up lots of decent D1 players (Kitson, Kuhl, Gabbiadini etc.) but couldn’t quite gel, while Pompey had that great side with Walsh, Whittingham, Chamberlain, Awford, Symons et al, and really should have got promoted.

Pompey, Derby and Bolton really deserve to get promoted. They have been the outstanding teams and I really hope that whichever one dips out on the automatic spot wins the playoff. History has not always been kind to the third placed team, however. Oxford seem like they may yet be the dark horse. That was an impressive win over Posh.

Hi Guys I was actually happy that it was a draw today.....so that Pompey can 'hopefully take the title in front of a full house and a full city on Tuesday night. Hi Tom, I spoke with you and your mate (like his input) top of stairs Hotel just before the game, I anticipated a good game with all the hype to it, which it was, got. to say I was gutted we did not win but the fact Portsmouth dug out the draw (look at the stats) in which your manager went on record saying you were lucky not to lose, but for me grinding out results at the expense of not playing attractive football is why where you are, if it is suitable for the Championship I'm not sure, that's for another day. Glad you enjoyed your visit to our Stadium and good luck for the rest of the season.

Here’s an interesting parallel developing… In 1986/87 Derby & Pompey were promoted automatically. The team from Greater Manchester chasing them in third place were Oldham Athletic. The action that clinched Pompey’s promotion was Oldham’s midweek loss against Shrewsbury. Now who are Bolton playing on Tuesday night? 🤔

Any other week it would be a solid away point - end of - but the tantalising prospect of promotion confirmed or even being crowned Champions made it a very slight disappointment for those left behind with the radio . This squad has been as good in the League they are competing in as Bobby Campbell's and Harry's were in theirs and it's probably right they should clinch it at Fratton park . A win on Tuesday night hopefully lead to a trophy presentation after Saturday's game . Having said that nothing is certain in football and we may have to be patient . I'll tell you what: the team we had on the pitch at the end looked more dangerous than Bolton, and more likely to score than them. What was wrong with Yengi's goal? He didn't kick it out of his hands - ball was clear in the air! And a nailed-on penalty at the end. That would have done it. It was the most outrageous foul, directly in front of goal. We'll see more footage of that in the week. Can't wait to see it from the goalside, where Pompey always have a camera...

Knew Bolton would throw the kitchen sink at us and they had to, they need wins all the way through to get automatic. Every time I can remember weve been promoted, it's by winning the league, or not at all. Apart from '87 under Alan Ball when we got to the old 1st division finishing second. It's just how we do things at Pompey, playoffs are no good to us. One more push will do it now!
