Totally remember this. I was 17 years old and saw them in Madison, Wisconsin on this tour. My friends that went with said Bon Jovi blew Ratt off the stage. We saw greatness that night. Richie was tearing it up on guitar and his harmonies with Jon running all over and bringing so much energy. It was the beginning of greatness.
Saw the same tour, and yes Bon Jovi blew them away. I went to see DiMartini, because he was the new hotshot guitarist at the time, but he was nothing to write home about. However Sambora was very impressive, I was blown away by his playing. I knew about Bon Jovi, but didn't go to see them, but I went away VERY impressed with them.
Saw same tour, Dayton, OH, Hara Arena. Bon Jovi put on a hell of a show. Ratt were flat and Pearcy was off key and unintelligible. I remember Bon Jovi the most. They were hungry and it showed.
Saw them in Rochester NY on this tour. I was a Ratt fan and my girlfriend loved Bon Jovi. They had a longer set that included "She dont know me" and "Silent Night". A great night for 2 16 yr olds. She had the "cool" parents that let me sleep over. Fond memories of that night.
December 21 1985 El Paso, TX at the County Coliseum I was 14 years old and a 8th grader in jr high, went with my cousin Cesar RIP it was our 1st rock concert life was good.
I never saw them in the 80's unfortunately, but I can see why RATT (and other acts) hated them and would cut their monitors, or give them less and less stage space, they were such a great live band, even for being so green, they would blow everyone away!! And who's still around now?? Huh?? Yeah!!
Gotta give it up to my church camp friend Brian P. He invited me to Austin TX circa 1984-1985 to see Bon Jovi open up for Ratt! Yes, We came to see Ratt, but were blown away by Bon Jovi. Long live the Austin Drum! I saw them at NOLA Jazzfest @ 2015 and they still had it! Long live, church camp friends, Austin, and NOLA Jazzfest! - LEG
Had a chance to see this tour at Richfield Coliseum in ohio..had tickets...no one would trade me work days..so gave tickets to my bestie and her boyfriend. She said it was amazing and bon jovi put ratt to shame🎉❤
Thank you for postin this! Always had a soft spot for this particular album. This was my introduction to Bon Jovi, right before Slippery. Thanks again man
I did hear that on this tour that Ratt stood out in the seats during rehersals and smirked and laughed at Bon Jovi. I liked Ratt back in the day early but Bon Jovi blew them away. Wonder who is laughing now. Great video btw.
haha I saw this tour when I was 18. I remember being front row. Thinking who are these guys in pink and purple. I also remember, they are pretty cool, and the chicks are loving this. I really remember Richie Sambora doing the harmonics section in his guitar solo and thinking WOW, that sounds cool. All I can remember from the Ratt set was the played alot of lame songs, sounded just OK and I walked out kind of disappointed in them. Bon Jovi is sound much tighter and better.
I did see this tour at the Welsh Auditorium in Grand Rapids MI. July of 85! Mama's boys/BonJovi/Ratt. I was shocked how Different Ratt sounded live compared to the album but love ratt anyways!
AFter the next two records was when Bon Jovi became flamboyantly gay. Seen this in San Diego on New Years Eve and Ratt destroyed Bon Jovi. Richie cant hold a note compared to Warren DeMartini.
Ratt was heavy metal band compare to bon jovi just pop rock metal band, why need to compare warren with richie..warren was king of guitar ,richie just knowing that same solo riff ..boring
