JBJ is a true rock legend, he really has nothing left to prove to anyone. Praying for his complete recovery after surgery, but it's still very difficult to reach the higher notes, as we see in "Blood on Blood" and "Born to Be My Baby".

He gave us the best of his vocals with some amazing performances like Always on the Live in London DVD with the extra lyrics at the end, "Through the wind, through the snow, through the driving rain, I'll crawl all the way home, baby...YEAH!" That moment was Jon at his peak, the power, the raw passion in his vocals was amazing... It will give you goosebumps... So we can indulge him now that his not his best and let him do what he loves....

Lets be real... Jon's voice isnt going to be what it used to be (although I always hold out some hope for more improvement. Why not, its a good thing to wish the best for someone!) The main thing is that Bon Jovi is an institution and the boys have paid thier dues over the decades. They deserve respect, its been earned many times over. Seeing them perform is a gift and long may they continue to bring joy to the world with their amazing catalouge of music. Jons voice is definitley improving, but its not his 1995 voice, and that's ok. Maybe singing can actually help improve his internal components which make up his ability to sing well. Lets hope the recovery continues as they bring joy to the world :)

Jon and his voice need to put together a handful of “farewell” shows with Richie and the band and call it a wrap. No one can deny what Bon Jovi accomplished. Hats off to great career…maybe something similar to what Billy Joel did: once a month for a while

Love the addition of that jam sesh in the middle of "Born to Follow." Some real sweet licks there. Jon's making improvements! Happy to see things looking up since his surgery. Those 80s songs have some pretty large vocal parts in terms of high note and power, so it makes sense those sections will take a bit longer to come back, but they're already sounding better.

A definitive improvement over 2022. I saw them at Bridgestone Arena around the corner on that tour and his vocals are a few steps above that final show of the tour. He's hitting the high notes where needed, but is not so consistent on Blood on Blood. The performances of the other songs are much more impressive. Very glad he's able to sing well enough that they've brought the tuning on Bad Name back to where it was prior to 2022. Loved hearing him do the count down to Born To Be My Baby with so much confidence behind his voice. Sounded like the first leg of the THINFS Tour. Since then his call out at the start of that song has been quieter, so it's good to hear that.

Jon already proved himself in the 80s, not to mention the 90s. He was aware that he had lost his voice, but he did not give up and continued to fight, he operated on his throat, they installed some plastic in his throat. What did he do for his fans? He didn't have to, but he didn't give up. I just don't understand how he achieved that voice on the song "Living Proof" from the new album. I know that the song was recorded in the studio, but still that powerful voice of his was heard, without a single drop. And then afterwards and while singing live, you feel like before the operation that he no longer have that power in his voice. You can see that he can hardly sing, as if he had an operation yesterday. Unfortunately, the operation did not help him and his voice is still a disaster. Before, it was nice to listen to him while he was talking, he didn't even have to sing, and now when he sings, it is very difficult and sad to listen to him, I hope that he will get a voice like before at least once more in his life. He barely sang a couple of songs. Very sad. Bon Jovi is my life, but unfortunately with a voice like this, he ruins all the songs that mean a lot to me.

You can tell his voice is better on Legendary. He was loose, having fun, and I think not in his head as much. This was the first time since 2022 singing some of his 80s songs. He went for the high notes in Blood on Blood, which he hasn't done in forever, plus I doubt he did his normal full vocal warmup as he would do for a concert for this small gig.

@@Migsterxoxo What "encouragement" am I supposed to offer to him? Like me, Jon is a realist and doesn't care for narrow-minded placating. He's been on record numerous times having stated that if it turns out that he no longer can sing, then he's good with his career and the body of work he created. I was quite considerate, compassionate and respectful in my comment, but you seem to have an issue with comprehension. At some point in life, we each will face the reality where we can no longer do the thing(s) we love most. In that moment, you don't "encourage" with lies, nor do you placate, you addled-brained simp. YOU aren't a realist. My guess is you're an oversensitive snowflake that naively believes people should be coddled, that everyone who competes should receive an award for participation and that "inclusion" should be the norm. Well, moron - that's not reality. Try growing up, work on your comprehension, and learn the difference between support and placating.

The improvement is obvious, but I doubt it's getting any better than this. Is it good enough for a tour? In my opinion no, because at this level of performance it still doesn't make a fun experience for the crowd, you still have to "make it through" the gig. Still, all respect for the discipline and work ethics, much more respectable than Richie's drinking. If he gets 20% better range, then a farewell tour would be great.

@@HumbleTrader001 It's not only about the high notes man. I'm a vocal technique teacher. His cord closure is better. His compression is better, his timing and fine tuning are overall better. His stamina and vocal presence are much better as well and actually, the more he regains control over those factors, the closest he is to regaining some of his high notes. If he keeps going this way, he will get better. Don't focus on the high note alone, vocal technique goes much further than that.

@@mcmusicm I’m wondering if he ever has any falsetto like at the end of Runaway? Wondering if he lost ability to sing any falsetto since 1980s? Mick Jagger, oddly, still has high falsetto notes at 80 years old.
@mcmusicm
@mcmusicm 3 месяца назад
@@HumbleTrader001 I haven't heard Jon go into falsetto for a long time now. Think about Jagger's singing style: mostly spoken. His falsetto is only occasionally used, and also falsetto is a different configuration vocal-wise. Compare Jagger to McCartney, both in the same age slot. Jagger's voice sounds well conserved today but he never came close to McCartney's delivery and wide use of his range in many styles. Paul could bridge and sing really high and chesty notes well into his 70s in great voice. Once it started wearing down, Jagger's still sounded the same. He never went through that wear and tear and has basically stayed within his speaking range. I love Mick to death but there's no solid technique backing up his spoken delivery. So he is always a tricky comparison when put besides another singer.

One of the things that some people like about live performances is the little changes in tempo of well-known songs and the vocal liberties that the artists give themselves. I too can appreciate it and, sometimes, find a live version of a song better or as interesting as the studio version. But in Jon's case, and especially because of his voice which becomes more and more nasal with age, I never really appreciated his live renditions of his hits. And the examples here do nothing to change my mind. That and the fact that he just doesn't know how to ''move or dance'' on stage. He is no Paul Stanley, let's just say that. But he is Jon and we cannot take away his charisma and his accomplishments.

The band has had so many wonderful performances throughout the years. Watch An Evening with Bon Jovi from 1992 or any of the shows from Wembly in 1995 (If your don't have time for that just watch Dry County or Always as those are some of the best performances of those songs the band has ever done). Those are just the most popular ones there are plenty more if you look at any performance from 2003 and before (He still sounded good till 2013 but his voice did get very a nasal tone, which I personally don't mind but you said you do). The reason he isn't dancing around the stage is because the stage is very small as they are playing in a bar and he is trying his best to focus on his singing to show that he is on the road to recovery after the surgery he had on his chords

@@cheesechampion6370 Nahh... I never liked his live renditions of his hits. Sure, some of them are good (''In & Out Of Love'') but in general, he doesn't give his all, doesn't scream with as much power and misses beats or bits of lyrics. The stage is maybe small here but I never found that he 'moved' well on a stage (I must have seen at least 6 or 7 of his shows since the 80s). Of course, the beauty of live performances is precisely the inevitable differences with the studio versions. And the fact of singing night after night means that he cannot give his all like in the studio (especially the scream in ''I'll Be There For You''). But in the case of Bon Jovi, apart from a few exceptions, I never really liked him live. Too bad for me, I guess.

@@magicmike7198 Yeah I guess you can't win everybody over. I enjoy his performing style but yeah I can see how some might not as there are definitely people who put in more energy each night. Jon, especially now, really only puts in a lot of energy and gives a long show in the places he likes such as New Jersey, Germany, or Montreal

@@cheesechampion6370 It's not that i want to argue with you but... I'm from Montreal! All the shows that i went to see are in that city... I know he loves this town since it has meaning for him, especially in his beginning. He even recorded a live version of ''Always'' here, at the St-Denis Theater. I was there! This recordings can be found on a special CD of the song ''Someday, I'll Be Saturday Night'''. I loved this show and yes, i loved his performance there. He was better in the 80s.

As long as hes talking or yelling, hes AWESOME!! When he goes to sing he switches to grandpa Simpson!?!? Yes he's better than he was on the tour,, it almost seems like there's possibly something mental wrong with him,, he can talk really cool but when he goes to sing he just falls apart!? I feel so bad for the guy,, I really hope he figures it out

I love Bon Jovi but I can't go to a concert that sounds like this. The band is tuned down a half step which is no problem it just the way he has to sing now, it's... very low and weak.

@@cheesechampion6370 It might be better than the period you mention but I can't enjoy this, not after decades of his stellar singing. It's very disappointing, for him more than anyone as he is such a pro and loves his craft.

chain smoking and excessive drinking has result in the vocal damage Jon is now suffering from, his voice is so weak now, you can hear its got no range, no power, there is no way he can tour again. The sweetness he had has gone, he's just singing a pitchy monotuous warble now. He should sit down with his wife and watch this shocking playback. Go back to the early 2000's to hear the power he once had, that voice is now gone for good.

Sounds like the surgery didn’t work. It’s like someone is doing a really bad impression of JBJ. Time to call it a career. He himself said if he can’t be at 100% he would retire from touring. He needs to listen to this and do as he promised. This is horrible.

Jon voice may never recover well enough to sing his older songs at a good level. He sounds much better on his newer songs because they are easier for him to sing. Alot of people dont like his newer music because its not like the older music, well he can't sing like that anymore. If he tried to make a album like the old days it would sound bad, why would he do that? He's not dumb.
