WELL FINALLY!!! A video showing that the LG can be installed on dry land with the boat on the ground!!! THANK YOU!!!!! Took dozens of vid's on YT to find someone do this! HA HA :) Must say though, still hesitant do to the flex. Yes, I get the idea of it being like that to absorb shock, but I still think, ultimately, that pressure is still being transferred to the the relatively small mounting plate surface area. Just wish there was a way to support the boat from the underside like a cart, with the quick and easy way this deploys. Dare to dream. :)
@@CaptainPeeples I've seen a couple ppl use some RIP cord. Fish backing plate on top cord. Fish RIP cord thru access hole and thru mounting holes you drilled to mount landing gear. Cord shud hold backing plate up to get bolts in. Might want to check out yak attack rigging bullets. Hope this helps
Brandon Hinkle yeah got mine installed the other day. This is exactly what I did with the help of a coat hanger. That enabled me to install the metal back plate. Have no earthly idea how your supposed to install the PVC board additional backing plate. (can’t remember the name of the stuff). It would require 7 arms, 3 legs and a goat to install.
the Bonafide kit comes with everything needed to install on a Bonafide kayak, you don't have to buy anything extra. The "extra" part is the wedge but that is in the kit. Yes there is a UHMW stiffener on the inside as well as a stainless steel backing plate
Doesn't look too sturdy when you wheel it down. That left side wheel and support was all over the place. I'm not convinced. At that price...and install. Nah
You are seeing the play that is intentionally put into the original design of the LG to act like a "shock" on your vehicle to avoid constant jarring on a rigid attachment point
