Miss the good old Chimes for this show, Used to watch it with my Mum, Mum never missed a Lorne Greene show,lol I used to like Landon in Highway to Heaven, and before in Little house on the Prairie where i first seen him. Showing my age now,haha Great Actors back then, Good times,lol

Notice in the early part of the episode where Joe and the guest star put on chaps when they get on the bronco. But when they do a close up of them on the horse, there are no chaps? Part of Bonanza's charm were the little bloopers that were left in the show. Love it. My favorite show ever.

Bonanza and High Chaporal were the 2 westerns they showed on BBC2 that loved watching, I liked the stories and characters they featured they made you feel they were like part of your family. I wanted a big brother like "Horse" Cartwight he was always my favourite character, sadly the actor who played him died a few years ago.

My favorites part during opening credit the Cartwrights run towards the camera on horses, i imagine them run through TV screen so i could see them all in real life - hehehe tipical mind ofs a 8 yrs old yes.? The young cowboy helping little Joe went by the name "Turkey " in a 1950's movie with Joan Crawford called "Johnny Guitar" great movie it's a classic

To anyone who's got questions about the theme song: The early episodes of Bonanza went to public domain awhile ago, but the theme song didn't. So they stuck in a generic Western-sounding theme instead. This isn't the only one; they use a couple others in other episodes as well.

Who directed this? Ben missed the fireplace by a yard, it bounces to the floor in full view of the camera & nobody yelled cut? They couldn’t do it again? Just pretended it wasn’t on the floor? 40:09 is both the funniest moment in the history of Bonanza, and the finest acting on display in this episode. Lorne Greene must have been terrifying to work with if they were afraid to stop and reset.

Jack Lambert, playing the gang leader (killed by Little Joe) was gunfighter Kin Creed in one of the very best Gunsmoke episodes ever, "There Never Was a Horse". Gunsmoke's third season. Gunfighter Kin Creed outdrew Marshal Matt Dillon but refused to kill him, townspeople mocked & taunted Matt.

He robs a bank, takes Little Joe hostage and bashes Adam over the head, then suddenly "we were all wrong about Sam". The story line was idiotic, but what can you expect for 1960. Besides all that, I still enjoyed the show. Thanks for sharing it partner.
