That's so crazy that Hoss Cartwright died in 1972 at age 43. And here it is February 2021 and The Whole World Is Still Loving Him and enjoying his life in acting very much
This reminds me of when my older brother used to say: Compromise is just surrender on the installment plan. I’m a 79 year old woman. My brother has been gone for a long time and I miss his wisdom and quiet sense of humor. It was a neat combination. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Every time I see this episode, I always say to myself, I wish Adam had married the woman in this episode. It was apparently clear that she had feelings for Adam and she would have been good for him. My opinion only.
@@lindak.3833 I would like to think when he went back east he met up with her again at some point, but of course, they never incorporated much about Adam after he left the show, but it could have been alluded to. They said he went off to sea which conveniently would have made it inconvenient for him to come back and visit the Ponderosa.
I'm amazed that almost everyone thinks joe is the only one who has been shot or injured the most maybe so but Ben isn't far behind Joe . Ben has been shot numerous times, Beat up several times , nearly hung at least 5 times i know of , and throwed off of a horse & fell down a clift several feet deep . So I'd say that Ben & Joe are pretty even in the injury category. However i do think Little Joe has been kidnapped & held hostage the most . He was kidnapped at least once in each season of Bonanza ( guess ) sometimes more than once a season . But that's one of the many things that made Bonanza so good.
Grace Gilmore Yeah, indeed. Rifles 'n horses! My nipples get hard just THINKIN' about that! And then, of course, there's manifest destiny. YIKES-----pass the Kleenex! I just made a mess all over my chest.
I had the biggest little girl crush on little Joe. I saw Lorne Greene being interviewed and was asked about little joe, he replied last time i saw him he moved to a little house on the prairie.
Ittle Joe was close to hoss he always fought with Adam because hoss sweet easy guy trusted peole Adam smart polite man always with his father respecte his father I wish he was long enough to the end😓😥😪😭😢 Rest in peace Mr. Cartwright & his sons Adam & Hoss & stuborn little Joe 💐💐💐💐
It was for real is entertainment on a western called acting when I thought it was real as a child Mother would always tell me it’s not real all pretend so Little Joe is ok wolf ok
One of the charms of this show, and what makes it my favorite show of all time, are the bloopers that were never removed. Any die hard Bonanza fan can name them all. Yes Hoss did say Mike. There are so many other examples. I personally love it.
Noticed? Every time Adam doesn't agree with you and for the sake of argument, he says "Sure" and turns away. And rightly so, because he knows better and you will soon find out he was right after all.
17:40 “The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation. What one trusts to be trues turn into compromises. And what is called resignation is confirmed desperation. From the desperate city you go into the desperate country, and have to console yourself with the bravery of minks and muskrats. A stereotyped but unconscious despair is concealed even under what are called the games and amusements of mankind. There is no play in them, for this comes after work. But it is a characteristic of wisdom not to do desperate things..” Henry David Thoreau, Civil Disobedience and Other Essays Adam was the total package: Smart handsome, & brave! I couldn’t ask more of a man ❤️❤️❤️
Pernell Roberts, was a great actor, he left because he was fed up of being treated like a boy, and was in his late 30’s and already bald. Michael Landon was a fabulous actor, and was only in his early 20’s but already greying so his hair was dyed, he died only in his 50’s. Dan blocker died young only 44, he was toupees, as was Lorne greene. They were all perfect for their roles.
I wasn’t too impressed with Adam until yesterday when I saw him acting in The Lady From Philadelphia. He was so worried for Little Joe because she had had said that she loved Little Joe but the way she had kissed Adam he had been able see that she was more in love with him than with Joe so he went away for until they left. I can’t remember if I gave this movie a thumbs up or down. I had been tempted to give it a thumbs down because of that mean wife of Horace her sweet, kind husband. She as a beautiful woman and a really good actress so I’m going to give the movie an thumbs u. 👏👏👏😅😅😅🥰🥰🥰😁
The color in this movie is weird. Kinda a pinkish mauve color. It’s kind of distracting but the movie is good so I’ll deal with it because of that. 🥹🥹🥹
@@gerrett108 I have to agree with you there A terrible shot Adam was Lucky it was just a sholder wound he could of killed little joe ( poor Joe ) it's bad enough that Joe was shot more than any of them on Bonanza then to get shot from big brother (wow !) if it wasn't for Adam shooting Joe then Hoss wouldn't of been injured from the baddies & Joe's life wouldn't of been put in danger in the first place . Even if it was an accident . Anyway thanks for sharing this episode with us Bonanza fans. One of my favorite episodes even though Joe was injured. ♡ From #1 little joe fan always ♡
@@mdonahue4683Thank you! I thought so as well then googled Earl of Sandwich 1762 (John Montagu) invented it because he spent hours at a gambling table!
@@thomaspiccirillo6820 I thought I had read it started with Americans around 1900; seems it may have been before that. You constantly hear about sandwiches at meals on Bonanza
What a horrible thing to live through, Adam accidentally shooting his brother and fearing the worse that he killed him. Thankfully, things worked out at the end.
Adam was probably the least popular character on the show.I always liked his character it gave each brother they're own personality hoss (strong, kind hearted) adam(the thinker solved problems with his mind) joe(quick tempered, fearless)Ben (loving protective father) love the chemistry one of the greatest TV sitcoms ever.
In the midst of viewing… LOL poor Adam… has to deal with the guilt of accidentally shooting his baby brother, a wolf attack, 3 greedy sniveling clowns trying to rip him off and some broad trying to hook him while he’s vulnerable. 😂
Love them all little Joe to, acts his part well a spoilt quick tempered little brat haha jumps in head first to bad about the consequences. One of my favorite programmes, fabulous Dad loving but also firm and the sons lot of respect for their Dad
Look at time frame (7:54). Apparently, the film editor must have fallen asleep to miss such big mistake. You can clearly see the shadows of three people who shouldn't be there. ROTFL! Tooooo funnny!
Haha, I actually noticed these the other day when I was watching, but didn't put them together as being shadows of people. I can see it now, of course, it's the camera crew! Good catch! :D
Honestly, I love the brothers more than their father. Too bad Adam leaves after season six. All because the stupid producers wouldn't let Robert Pernell do more acting on the side or do more with his character. Such a shame.
WolfSong913 I AGREE ABOUT ADAM I LOVE HIM YES THE BEST COWBOY SHOW EVER MADE I LOVE THEM ALL BEN WHAT A GREAT FATHER I WHISH ALL FATHER WERE LIKE BEN HIS THE BEST NO 0NE LOVE HIM XXXXX
Lyn M jacup W Pernell did not want to control everything; he simply felt that his character was a grown man who should be allowed to have a love interest, perhaps get married and have a spread of his own. He didnt feel it was natural for a grown man having to still answer to his father and not able to make his own decisions. He simply wanted his character to grow up and have a family. That's called life! If Pernell hated anything; it was the stagnation of the characters.
Lyn M jacup W Oh please, spare me your historical analysis of the 1800s. Further, even the producers of Bonanza admitted that they made a mistake with Pernell Roberts; they confessed that they should have listened. They missed out on a great actor and the opportunity to take the show to another level.
Eduviguis moreno fajado y enrique cara luque en español muy bonita y preciosa película de Bonanza bue wertens muy bueno me gusta los muchacho son maravilloso me hencanta como he se la dedicó para los dos eduviguis y enrique con cariño
Every time I see scenes like this, like Joe Cartwright's surgery, I'm thankful that I live in the twenty-first century, and I'm not being operated on at home in such a primitive way, thank God!🙏
If you ask me if there were more men like the Cartwright brothers and the Barkley Brothers the prisons wouldn't be so full a lot more women would be safe. a real man cares loves cherishes and honors his Queen. He puts his woman before himself. And the children would be a lot safer too. that's one of the reasons I love to watch shows like this about the Cartwright brothers and their father Ben. Real human beings.
@@Actionnelll Not really. It was that he had some appreciation of her greatness and beauty after all despite his strong concern for his brother Little Joe--the latter fact which underlines this ep!
@@Actionnelll Try this on for size, then. In a moment we did not see after this ended. Maybe Adam alone and her got together again. Possible! Also, his smooch with her could have been to give her some emotional worth. If a woman as good looking as her keeps going among men and they never care for her she could start to hate herself after a while.
Jewneel Walker: I love this episode it's one of my favor of the Bonanza shows. I have lots of favor. I love that Adam & Joe were real close as brothers should be. I love both Pernell & Michael & I love went they are together in lots of the shows. I cry in this one as I didn't want to see Joe get hurt. Thanks Bonanza world for all these great shows. Jewneel
this is one of my fave episodes. Adam is my fave. The show lost a lot when he left. An Candy was a poor replacement for Adam. As he didnt connect like Adam did with Hoss an Joe. I could watch every episode 10 times over with Adam in them. Yet after he left so did some of the magic an the show was poorer for his departure
She wanted very much for Joe to come through. She was emphasizing with Adam yes and had her own hopes, but she hated the trauma that both brothers were going through
17:44 Walden by Thoreau, quoting "Adam" here quoting Thoreau > The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation. What one trusts to be truths, turn into compromises, and what is called resignation is confirmed desperation.
When good looking Adam left the show they should have made a show that Mr. Cartwright lost his son Adam as he died of sickness or gone married another state's faraway & candy came working on the runch that would be nice 😄😃😀😃
That is one idiot doctor first he doesn't do a full exam on Joe then he doesn't realize he was out of whatever liquid was in that bottle. Then leaves without a proper diagnosis. Just Terrible. 🙄
