There are SO many great lines in The Godfather its hard to pick out ONE as the GREATEST... "Someday, and that day may never come, I'll call upon you to do a service for me, but uh... until that day, consider this justice as a gift on my daughter's wedding day" "Its a Sicilian message, Luca Brasi sleeps with the fishes" "He's still alive! @@ricardolombardini What is best is when you use one on someone who has never seen The Godfather. In an argument on an online game I used: "But I'm a superstitious man. And if some unhappy accident should befall my allies, if they should mobbed by an enemy guild, if they don't get enough time on resource nodes, or if they should decide to quit playing... then I'm going to blame some of the players on this server. I just had a similar situation at work : Someone ignored me for years - no respect or interest to even say hi when we are both in a manager position. Even refused a connection invitation. Today, that person came to me out of the blue asking for help that would have a relevant impact on money. I remembered this part of the movie and now I think: "Thanks for sharing your need, I will work towards making it impossible that you achieve that goal"

That's a perfect analogy. I've have had similar moments in my life... as one gets older and wiser, we wake up & see these people are nothing but ' flu ' it latches on to you & drains you for that glancing moment, sucks you're energy & disappears as fast as it came . Amazing how Sonny and Tom stand up, Tom goes behind Bonasera, and he (Bonasera) gets scared. Sonny and Tom was prepared to anything Vito would do or tell them to do.

Amerigo Bonasera! What a chap. You dare come before “The Godfather” on the day his daughter is to be married and ask him to go murder for money? Goodness me! What a tosser! You could just feel the power in the room and where it resided without question. And to think, Francis Coppola, chose to use Bonasera’s visage as a metaphor to represent what Vito meant to humankind in his day. Mehnn! Nothing can beat The Godfather!!

Not sure how you can construe that concern at her daughter's "honor" (as much as that concept was way more important back then compared to today), grief at how badly she was beaten that she'll probably end up disfigured and indignation at being denied justice are demonstrations of vanity. Bonasera is not a complex character. He simply represents the common italian american who came to the new world seeking the American Dream, initially seeing Don Vito as a criminal yet pushed to seek his help when seeing no other choice for justice, and later on doing a favor as repayment and grieving at his funeral as he saw him as a genuine friend and respected him afterwards.

Bonasera is ungrateful asf. First he asks Don Vito to murder/hurt someone on the day on Connie's wedding then when Don Vito calls on Bonasera for a service/favor he rants to his wife (on a deleted scene I think) that they shouldnt have known Don Vito in the first place.
