Vito Corleone is the aging don (head) of the Corleone Mafia Family. His youngest son Michael has returned from WWII just in time to see the wedding of Connie Corleone (Michael's sister) to Carlo Rizzi. All of Michael's family is involved with the Mafia, but Michael just wants to live a normal life. Drug dealer Virgil Sollozzo is looking for Mafia families to offer him protection in exchange for a profit of the drug money. He approaches Don Corleone about it, but, much against the advice of the Don's lawyer Tom Hagen, the Don is morally against the use of drugs, and turns down the offer. This does not please Sollozzo, who has the Don shot down by some of his hit men. The Don barely survives, which leads his son Michael to begin a violent mob war against Sollozzo and tears the Corleone family apart. - Written by TheElfstone

You can clearly see the nervous and pressure on Neri. He's the one who got the heavy task, killing biggest mafia leader. No wonder he become one of Michael closest
1970 Airport 1971 Dirty Harry, French Connection 1972 Godfather, Deliverance 1973 The Exorcist, The Sting 1974 Godfather Part II, Chinatown 1975 Jaws 1976 Taxi Driver, The Omen, Rockie 1977 Star Wars 1978 Superman, Halloween 1979 Apocalypse Now Man, what a decade for moviegoers. Legends coming one after another, every summer.
I know there's 5 New York crime families but in real life one can imagine if, like in this movie scene, the other 4 heads of the families were killed simultaneously, what nationwide news that would make.
This is one of the most chilling eeriest scenes in cinematic history. All the tension building up in the beginning and then bodies dropping to the floor as he is asked wether he renounces Satan. Michael going from the sweet guy of the family to a cold blooded killer. Peak cinema.
