Yes, the Elite has a needle retaining sponge which gives the needles control, unlike the Classic, ISM, USM and the other various original Bond machines, they has no retaining sponge, so the needles just moved really loosely in their channels.

Rumbidzai L Sachiti You need to replace the needle retaining sponge in that case. With all the needles in non working position, tip the bed forward and if the needles come out the needle retaining sponge is no good, it will need replacing.
