My late father, Terry had this model and a later model and a reliant from 1956 'till about 1961. He bought them from the dealer where he worked Saturdays; Pride & Clarke, South London.
Bond Minicar MkA owned by the Steggel family of Chelford, Cheshire. Restored by Brian Chadwick who was talking you through the steering. He's done a fantastic job it was a wreck when we handed it to him. The later Bonds switched from cable and bobbin steering to worm and sector/wheel so not quite a rack but similar principle.
Thanks for that. Great info on the Bond. It was a fascinating little machine. I personally prefer the looks of these early ones with the rounded front.
You could buy one of these for a fiver back in the day. Worthless. Now, much desired. Quite right too. I had a later model in the mid 60's. Can't remember exactly how much but it would been around 30 quid...
