I owned one of those exactly the same colour in 1976 it would wheelie it was much more stable than the Reliant with the engine over the back wheel driving
Nice and clean inside. I admit the doors are a terrible fit ( they all were ) and shut with a crash, but they can be watertight. Agree also that the Reliant has a better loadspace but ain't half as much fun to drive !
faster and better to drive than ANY RELIANT!! they should have kept this car in production and knocked reliants on the head, far superior handling and cornering. wonder whereJBC 166D is now?
Never liked the 875's - I always thought that Reliants' idea of the engine behind the front wheel was the better option, leading to more loading space at the back. Nice example though. Watch out for those aluminium doors that never sealed against the fibreglass bodywork!

But in buying them out they obviously acquired the Bond name also. Reliant then used the Bond name for the Bug. First Bond Bugs were built at the original Bond plant in Preston. But later that was closed down and Bond Bugs were built in Reliants factory at Tamworth alongside all the other cars.
problem again, 3 wheelers were built to weight, as ins as a sidecar,..loop in law,.so after the wngine & body all else was built to weight, thus the almost " tatty " interior all tri-cars had, seats were the wore, squabs on thin metal pipes,..shame really,...but the idea of using the petrol tank, & spare wheel as ballast on front, was ok, until half full & you could feel the " slop " as the fluid splashed from side to side, all in all, laurie bonds better idea,s...
