Bond Street Blackpool, is there any hope? Or is it all over. What are your memories of Bond Street?

Today I take a walk along Bond Street South Shore Blackpool and look back at some of the places that used to be here. Is there hope for regeneration along here maybe some decent shops or some of the old buildings turned into housing?
Will plans for Holiday Apartments on the old Woolworths site be approved, if they are approved it could be the start of regeneration in the area. Let's hope so cos one thing is for sure it can't just be left to rot, join me on a little history walk along Bond Street. What are your memories from there? comment below.

Hi Caroline, Bond Street a good few years ago was one of the best streets in Blackpool there was always something you could buy. I have many things in my house that came from that street. The Seafood restaurant was one of the best in Blackpool and we had many good times in there my children started going in there in their prams. My daughter always said going upstairs to the loo along the corridor was spooky!

I used to horse ride down Bond St. The Bond St. cafe staff used to come out and give us short-dated bread rolls for the horses.

Good evening Caroline that area of Blackpool used to be my favourite part i used to buy gold from a shop in Bond Street and i bought Porcelain Dolls in Lytham Road both shops have been closed for years i don't do on line banking at all i hope you are well take care and i look forward to the next video

Hi george. I used to steal (I meant buy) my gold from the Argyle arcade! My wee niece loves porcelain dolls. She's autistic and they help her, but she's really fussy. Well worth it.

Sorry. Finally watched the whole vid. Awesome. I love your take on the council and their duties. There really is only so much they can do. I was going to say that Hartes just needs a lick of paint and Polyfilla, but when you mentioned that it was built on a bowling green, my missus will be raging. She's a Scottish International bowler! Fantastic stuff Caroline. Hope you are well. xx

Good evening Hazel, yeah I used to love Bond Street when I was younger such a shame. Thanks it helps that I was brought up here so I remember a lot of things. Honestly my nose and hands were frozen this morning and it is super windy now. Have a great weekend and take care xxx😊

Hi Caroline, how many of the new developments in Blackpool will still be standing 134 year from now like some of the beautiful building's in the video?? My guess is none, they don't build them like that anymore they were built to last ❤

Yes I love the old buildings, there are a few with dates on along Bond Street all around the 1880's. Things were certainly built to last then and they were beautifully built. Hope you are well 😊 x

The people who ran Melody House also had a market stall in the now-defunct New Market. My sister and I nicknamed them "the new 2 Leslies", a father/daughter team who always made us giggle.

I live on bright street for the last 11 years I use bond Street for halo hair potters inn and premier shop it's got worse and it's quite sad really the lady in potters in told me about bond Street history recently fab video amazing to hear it'd history ❤😊

Bond Street was one of my favourite haunts when I was young (many moons ago now) It is full of fascinating history, I may do more on the local area as I am most often in South Shore xx😊

Went to college in the late 70s at Blackpool, used to knock about in Bond st as my mates mam had a B and B in Shaw rd

Bond street went down hill when blackpool council changed the layout of the road around 2008 or 2009 bond street was a good road back in the day

I'd love to see a Blackpool Monopoly board. I'll trade you Coral Island for Bond St. and Happy Dayz. Advance to the £1 burger bar. Do not pass SeaLife. The Tube Station, Blackpool North and South and Pleasure Beach. Manchester and District Bank are ripe for a robbing. Yes. I cheat. Soz Caroline, I'll check the rest in the morning. I know the area is getting some funding so they say soon, but many buildings are privately owned which leaves councils a bit powerless in many ways. I hope plans for the old Woolworths get passed as it may encourage other private investors into the area.

Blackpool have been rubbish for years , Did you know they wanted to get rid of all the trams and it was only transport boss Joe Franklin that saved the promenade line
