This is our technique for placing lower fixed retainers. The procedure from start to finish routinely takes less than 5 minutes and provides long term retention for our patients.
the position of the wire should be where the teeth meet which is usually near the middle ? what if it’s placed and bonded too high toward roof of mouth (top lingual)
i need to know if the upper lingual retainer should be bonded at the top or in the middle of the tooth . what happens if it’s bonded to high (toward roof of the mouth) on the teeth ?
it all depends on the occlusion, where it fits and if there are black triangles or not. Like most things there is no stock answer, and must be individualized
and my teeth don’t occlude in the back now i’m having headaches . (just gone done this morning ) i think i should return and hopefully it’s placed better so my back teeth occlude. all of the bonding is causing my bite to feel too high. but when they remove the bonding it is too thin and keeps breaking . 😢
Not sure what your concern is here. You want to increase the surface area. Microetching is best, but messy, extra fine diamond is next best and easy and takes a few seconds and isn't messy. Zero issue here
