its crazy that off camera there treated like celebrities, but still do a job where they risk there lives ... i assumed after the show got big they only worked while filming then a different crew worked daily. true heroes.
Jethro is my favorite lifeguard besides harries but Jethro has a bunch of runoff shows one of them is called how to do shit it's hysterical and his camping shows Jethro I love you boo our babies would be blong hair blue eyed smartasses love ya
Kinda jealous, but i wouldnt want to bother them while they're on their job... or in their free time. i'll just watch and support them from afar, through a screen :p
He could have shakes your hand, such a shame, guess the series has made some not very excited to surprise visit by people who came there to meet and thank the lifeguards for what they do and their impact they have on people who see their season show. However when you go there I person some just don't seem interested in being in the line light, don't want a quick meet and greet by a fan and that's sad as it takes only few seconds of a person's time and for those that came all the way there to see them for a moment in their lifetime it's all about lasting impressions. Unfortunately that response at the look out would leave a bad taste and discourage me, would shoot down my respect for some of them and leave disappointed when you just want a quick meet greet thank them for what they do. However the guy on the beach #FaithInHumanityRestored for some people seeing them in show then in person is a life alternating experience, bringing courage to become a lifeguard, or enter into a job that helps people, and even feel better as a PTSD Survivor that not every life guard is the same and your respect for them and trust, when being bullied or harassed by life guards in your country because you require a Service Dog like myself. A moment a hand shake and meet and greet makes a difference. Glad the one on the beach was kind and took a second of his time to show what they claim they are all about based on the show. He showed what a wonderful caring and kind lifeguard he is and is glad to meet people that came from other countries to show appreciation and gratitude for what they do. The one in tower can learn from Jethro. As a Handler with a Service Dog if I came to Bondi Beach and had an Hypoglycemia Hypoklimea Medical Issue that can cause brain fog, loss of balance, vertigo/dizzy, slurred speech, joints painful stiff and irregular heartbeat and need medical help. I would not want those in the look out helping me no thank you. I'd only want Jethro to help me cause of his personality because when you have PTSD and have medical condition like mine, that attitude in the look out would make it more difficult when my anxiety goes up, while Jethros personality would allow me to stay focused and deal with the medical issue not trigger my CPTSD and that for people like me makes all the difference. Whether your on a beach, in the ER , at a store or wherever when having a CPTSD/PTSD attack or the Medical Situation because of Hypoglycemia Hypoklimea, you want those helping you to understand and not be stuck up, not have an put off attitude or treat you like your just another person, because trust me that only makes it worse for those like me and why I distrust people and never ask for help because I don't want to burden others, it's embarrassing when it gets bad.
something was going on, someone could have been drowning, hurt, not shading the creator of this video he seems really nice but lifegaurds are supposed to watch after the water and not shake hands with random tourists. these lifeguards are very nice and highly trained and were still nice even though they couldnt give him a hand shake. i would trust those lifeguards with my life
Also not shading the creator but I think the sign outside the tower says to only go up in urgent or emergency situations. If they see them on the beach, then they can get photos or chat, but when it's just one or two guys in the tower taking care of the whole beach then it's fair enough to send visitors away, especially when there's something going on :)
Bondi is way over rated, there are hundreds of far better beaches around Australia, even an hour North up the coast where I live the beaches are bigger, better and more beautiful.
