Every top fighter has something in his own mind that is a game changer, in his case, he enters the cage to destroy his opponent, he's not trying to just win the fight, he reminds me of a young mike tyson killing stare, but not so wild, a lot more thinkative and cold
for me what's interesting about this guy is that he's not your typical bad guy/bully type that breaks under pressure you can see that in that first Gustafsson fight, he is pushed to the brink but still doesn't break, he has that heart that a bully doesn't have, aside from extreme well-roundedness in the era of specialists, attributes and high fight IQ, his mental toughness is on another level.
When you think of the most lethal killer in the world, you don't think of someone who is loud and abrasive. You think of someone who is cold, calculated, calm with a terrifying presence and that's what jones is like. He's got that presence about him
@@user-nk9kw1ip4kI mean, the noisy fucker isn’t going to randomly kill you. He’s going to tell you for 30 minutes and get sparked before he can do anything. The quiet guy will give you an “Mhm”, Whack you, and move on.
His title run from 2011 to 2015 was the greatest streak of wins in UFC history, and he was recognized as the best fighter in the world for 9 years. Arguably, Jon Jones has both the greatest peak and best longevity of any MMA fighter ever.
@@MrLinthu see that’s why I think he’s the real life homelander, the way he forces himself to be nice in public is just an absolute mirror image of homelanders character! I don’t think he’ll fuck up again like he has in the past but he tries really really hard to come across mr nice guy and we all know he’s not really like that 😂😂
I would have loved to see DC spank Jones at heavyweight. DC was a natural heavyweight, fighting one division lower out of respect for Cain. He was awesome at that weight class too, but not enough to overcome Jones. Jones is superb, but his legacy will always be questionable due to PED history.
When i look at Jones (being a movie buff) i always think to myself" damn he would crush any acting role portraying a psychopathic vilain...then i realise that he wouldn'tbe acting...he'd just be himself...lmao
I met Jon the weekend he became champ he was so nice to all of us who came to see him I can tell he has his personal demons but he tries his best to live up to his fan's expectations.
I love how people want a fighter to be dominant and destroy the toughest of fights in a bloody cage fight, but then expect them to not have demons... Do they not understand that it is the same wild dog in them that makes them volatile in the ring that it does outside of it... I'm glad that he got through his youth and is proving all of the haters wrong
This is such a bad generalisation of fighters, there are plenty of champs out there that are animals in the cage that can handle not doing illegal shit outside.
Comparing Jon Jones to Mike Tyson it's easy to see the difference. Hypothetical situation but: Prime mike Tyson is a troubled guy and absolutely ferocious but he has a conscious. He'd could potentially kill someone in a fit of rage when his demons take over but then spend the rest of the time feeling guilty about it. Jon Jones on the other hand is the type to potentially kill someone when his demons take over and then feel nothing about it but would pretend to care.
There’s something dark about Jones, his aura. I guess you got to go there into the darkness, to tap into the ability to be the deadliest fighter alive.
@@gtavc007 yeah well that’s a bland comparison considering everything bones has accomplished, leaving khabib and gsp in shame. Not even close. You don’t know about combat
It takes a very, very strong mentality to be as dominant as this guy has been in the sport of mma for the past 14+ years. Joe Rogan once said that Jon Jones has a dark side and he's right. That dark side plus his phenomenal talent is what made him the g.o.a.t. To have 14 title fights takes a special human being.
I think the g.o.a.t has to include his personality and his character. If you consider MMA an actual artform then winning and losing can't be the sole determination. Look at another artform such as music - do you think the greatest musician is the one who sells the most albums and has the most airtime on streaming sites?
@@the_original_Bilb_Ono music and fighting are two different things music is based on opinions MMA is based on facts look at what jones did in the ufc the most dominant fighter the amount of title defences and the household names he fought people might not like the person he is but as a fighter he is the goat personality and character means nothing when you step into that cage
i just have to say… this is one of the best videos to be ever to be put together. the story the narration, i had never thought of bones as an alter ego and it was constructed beautifully. well done 👍
His answer to the bad guy good guy question was so eye opening. Like this man has had many trials and errors but man if he doesnt know how to hone in one what he knows to keep moving foward
Hitting a pregnant lady and running away or beating your wife in front of your kids because she was trying to stop you from going to the stripclub, aren't "errors"
Seemed honest there, and he's obviously lying about being nice and a good person. His lack of responsibility over the repeated drunk driving situations as well as beating his wife in front of their babies is gross and scary, but that mentality can only be an advantage in fighting. He was built for war
Been watching Jones for a long ass time and he’s always been special. I loved watching this dude, sucks he couldn’t stay out of trouble but he had so much success at such a young age probably messes with his head abit thinking he was untouchable
Thats scary to think. If Bones keeps winning and developing the “I’m God” mindset, he could eventually overtake Jon and do something that permanently ruins the Jones legacy forever.
@@mitchellgarvey98 he’s not talking about Jon losing the match he’s talking about (Jon) beating his alter ego (bones) kinda like how mike Tyson found peace within himself after his career
Wow, that's a magnificent video. I've been a Jon fan since 2009, and you are absolutely right. The best performances were when he was the darker bones, even with all those issues. I am still a Jones fan. Only guys who had seen his fights from the beginning will truly understand how special Jon was as a fighter. Can't wait to see who shows up on Saturday 🙏
It’s even weirder how humans can make mistakes, and some learn from them and become better people. Jon has worked hard to keep his demons at bay. However some people will point out mistakes in others lives, bring them up years later to try to stop them from growing and evolving into better humans.
@@Tonto114 I can’t speak for everyone but I’m a fan of the fighter not the husband. Lots of legendary musicians are shitty people too- if you can’t separate art from artist you miss out on a lot of masterpieces; whether it be martial arts, visual arts, film, music, etc. I don’t see a lot of people defending Jon beating his wife but I see comments like this all the time. We just appreciate his art in the cage 🤷🏿
Nice editing and storytelling I was always fascinated about Jones the more lethal his fight gets the more true bones we see almost scary I got shocked when he took down prime Cormier just to make a statement truly a fighting goat
I don't care how bad of a person he is. Inside that octagon he is a living legend. The Voldemort of the UFC. A mythical being. I grew up admiring this man and it brings a tear to my eye to see him finally get the recognition he deserves.
"I don't care how bad of a person he is" damn man, but people like you will have a 16 year old arrested for having sex with his girlfriend without even asking what happened
You're a child, you are defending that type of person I genuinely Hope that you get what you deserve. You willingly know someone is bad and like them, that means you are twisted enough to find an innocent person guilty
@@zoniannitrate2905 You're bad at reading people, he was clearly amused and wanted to play along to get Jon to open up and say crazy shit, get him to reveal himself. I'm not sure how one could miss this.
Jon Jones is truly one of the all time UFC greats, I have been following his career since 2011 and over the last 12 years, his list of opponents is stuff of legend and he beat them all, competed at the top level, Jon Jones a once in a generation talent, masterclass performance against Ciryl Gane, the GOAT is back 🐐👏👏👏
I couldn't subscribe fast enough. This was a raw look at who Jon Jones is, not just as an MMA elite, but as a human being. I can't believe you don't have more subscribers than you do. If you keep making compelling content like this, you'll become a juggernaut on this platform. Thank you for this video, the clips of Jones with his DUI as well as the post HOF clip were powerful reminders of the demons this man has inside him.
@@Itznotjoeyyy no they don’t. You’re not hard and you’re not stopping yourself from being a killer. You have no idea what it feels like to look the face of death in the eye or take a life and There’s plenty of ppl that have gone through things so bad you couldn’t possibly imagine and they’re just fine. Stop being a pussy and Stfu. That was cringe and embarrassing.
So you love him for beating his wife to a bloody pulp and driving into a pregnant lady? Oh yes such a brave man, it was especially brave of him to cry like a bitch when facing the consequences of his crimes by the police and when he refuses to fight Tom aspinhal. Yes such a heroic individual.
About ten years ago i was at a bar in NY john was there with some gals and some friends. The bar was chill af that night but the best time ever. I just remeber looking at the dude and how respectful he was to everyone. No one but the gals approached him. But we all gave cheers from afar that night. Good luck Bones. Thanks for the drink.
That was always my theory since the last time he had a run-in with the law enforcement I thought maybe Jon, as a man will finally learn to grow, and become a better person once he experiences his first loss in something that he deems the most important to him, which is his MMA career because I remember looking at a video that DC made about JJ & his last incident. He was talking about how Being in Jon’s POV the things he did outside of the UFC never affected him in the octagon so when all these people want him to change, he ask himself. “Why should he” and from his POV you can understand because he’s never lost he’s never been properly defeated, so why would he change the person that he is because the more he’s gotten deeper and deeper into that dark place the more and more he’s gotten better inside the octagon, unfortunately like you said he let it get to him, and we see the results of what happens when that’s the case
You can understand things without losing especially since he has probably lost alot in practice and sparring / training, and i think someone as smart as jon can do so. Honestly, its more like the drugs and alcohol that take over him and make him do stupid shit. I don't think he has ever been in trouble while sober
It's very easy to just rotulate someone as "crazy" or "sociopath", but your video really has gone to a depth I hadn't seen yet. Everyone goes thru transformantions and struggles in life, and your video showed a much more human, flawed, and real side of Jones. I bet Jones himself would be intrigued upon seeing this video. Awesome content!!
Great job editing here man! Beautiful storytelling of an all time great character in Jon. Super intriguing guy with all his ups and downs a truly polarizing figure. Whether you love him or hate him you have to respect his accolades.
Some people can't drink, not even one single drop of alcohol. It triggers something horrible that is normally locked away deep inside. Sober Jon is the GOAT,

@@FreeFlocka-pk6hv mate they aren’t fully trained to disarm people like that hahaha abit of a silly thing to say plus he’s more than likely be respected in there so I doubt it would happen but yeah there is always that chance
Good little documentary about him yeah I been watching the ufc 285 embedded episodes. He seems like a good guy. Like any other guy whose had mistakes and flaws before, amazing talent must be hard to manage all that. We all learn at different rates if he's found a way to let the dark side go more power to him. He's destroyed everybody else in the octagon except Gane his hardest problems seem to be against himself, which is very much so for a lot of us.
I knew this sports because of John. And during the early days Jon seemed to be a quiet young man who was extremely talented and was even more humble. It never crossed my mind that this man has a side like this. I am sure at that time we all had that perception. I think money and fame exposes the darkest sides of people.
Where do you get this impression of bad behavior? Because he parties? Got in a fight with his gf? Are you a loser that's never done anything in life and hate on great warriors? That's probably why
Nah nah nah when your labelled as a sociopath you don't know how to act that's why he's so awkward because he wants to "act" good he wants to look good but he isn't being himself (doesn't mean he's evil maybe he just doesn't care in reality) but when he's pretending that's why he looks like that
@@sadsworth4605 sociopaths have intuition. Assuming Jones doesn't know what "being good' or having good intentions are is just stupid. As a diagnosed psychopath I don't know what it means to have natural good intentions but I see what makes people good and try my hardest to stick to discipline and purpose. As long as a "bad" person is aware that they're not "good" they can make the choice. Alot of the time p and s paths are looking for internal peace but it's always conflicted with self serving megalomania. It's a rough experience, being a dark person is some days frustrating but you wouldn't swap it for anything else. Illness or not people deserve respect. I appreciate Jones when he's being himself. Owning your psychopathy is the first step to changing your life. I don't want Jones to be a good guy for his sake, it will only make his lows more intense.
naa the contradiction of his darkness and the pursuit of meaning (guilt) make them grow. A free Jones can live in peace but if only him lives close with nature, family is an imposition for him.
@@blackmetalcumbia I guess he should just abandon his family then? Nah man, he made an obligation to them. He has to start acting like a normal person outside the octagon or he’s gonna kill somebody
