1. Question : What's your relationship with DVDs and rental stores? Is it somewhere you used to go to when you were younger ? Important for your cinematic culture ? Answer : Yes I walked around a lot to buy my tapes or DVDs, I have around 6000 of them at home. And as you said there are more than 50 000 here (around him), I want to take everything with me when I leave with a truck. Even though we are in a "streaming" era I hope that we'll still be able to collect physical supports for a long time. I landed in Paris last night, this is the first place I'm visiting today and I'm happy about that as a cinephile.

2. (1'18) Question : We're gonna start with French cinema? Answer : It's been years since I last visited Paris. Those two, Leos Carax and Michel Gondry, they made a movie with me called "Omnibus", it's a pleasure to see them (their name) here after all this time. Leos Carax doesn't film a lot, but I'm always curious and impatient to see his movies. (Holds "Le salaire de la peur" by Henri Georges Clouzot) I already said that in several interviews but this is one of the movies I watched the most in my childhood and even as a teen, keeping myself from going to the toilet. First saw it when I was 10-11 and I was overwhelmed. Even now, collecting Henri Georges movies.

(2'11) Question : Was it easy at the time to watch French movies in South Korea? Answer : I watched them on TV. Movies like those by Clouzot or Jean Renoir used to be a lot on TV on the weekend and some programs. There was also an educational channel which played them, specialized on cinema on sunday afternoons. They liked Francois Truffaut a lot. Then, those one here Mati Diop and Audrey Diwan, talented directors I met when I was part of the LA mostra de Venise's jury. Judges didn't always agree but with this one (holds "L'événement" by Audrey Diwan) we were unanimous and everyone voted in its favor as the "Lion d'or" (grand prize) without argument. I met the director and the actors during the closing ceremony. Anamaria Vartolome truly is a great actress and the director seems to have a promising future. I met Mati Diop at Cannes when I got selected for "Parasite" and "Atlantique" is a really beautiful movie.

Amongst French directors, Alain Guiraudie and "L'inconnu du Lac" is so famous. (Holds "Du soleil pour les gueux" by Guiraudie) I managed to buy this one and "Pas de repos pour les braves" (same director) on DVD. Also "Restez vertical" ? This movie is very strange but also interesting, here it is! (holds it) Why aren't they all kept together (the DVDs by Guiraudie) they should be put next to each other! This movie also has a strange, extraordinary strength. I never met Guiraudie and don't know anything about him personally but the bizarre feelings that transpire from his movies are interesting, and when I watched "L'inconnu du Lac" I had a great shock and an everlasting impression. As a result he always makes me want to discover his newest movies. I'm a friend of director Célinne Sciamma ("Portrait de la jeune fille en feu"), I've never met with her in France but several times in the US. We both were attended the Oscar when "Parasite" was being promoted. It's a great director. I really liked her last movie "Petite maman", it's a chef d'œuvre with great shots. She must be busy nowadays.

3. Question : This is the "TV shows" section... Answer : I struggle watching series. I just watch until the second episode and then stop everytime. I didn't watch many integrally. Question : There was a rumor about making a TV adaptation of Parasite? Answer : Yes and I'm also participating as a producer, with the same concept, but set in New York with new characters. Adam McKay is working on the storyline at the moment. I guess we'll have it soon. A show I really appreciated is "Mind Hunter" by David Fincher, also "Twin Peaks" by David Lynch. It was very shocking and there is a movie version of this, "Fire Walk with me", this also was a true masterpiece. If I were to do a TV show I'm sure I would be fired by the second week. I shoot very slowly. Director Park Chan Wook already shoot a serie, "The little drummer girl" in 6 episodes. When I saw how much and how fast he filmed, that was incredible. I'm not feeling it!/not confident, you have to be super fast.

​@@arimas1977 C'est un reproche général, emballe toi pas. Tu fais juste partie de ces nombreux êtres humains dotés d'une très compréhension psychologique. Il n'y a rien de mal à cela. Moi, je suis un ancien top 20 d'Age of Empire 3 donc je comprends tous les mécanismes de ruse, de bluff, de paraître, de bienpensance, etc. Je suis un très grand passionné de Dostoïevski. Il s'interroge sur les dilemmes moraux et l'essence de nos réactions psychologiques. Il est bien simple de jouer un personnage pour amadouer les esprits simples. Tu vas cogiter tout ça après avoir lu mon message. :)

Recomptez tout ça pour faire un classement précis, c'est très, très, très important.

C'est pas pour lui ! Depuis le début de l'histoire du cinéma il y a des milliers de chefs d'oeuvres déja sortis et répartis sur une cinquantaine de pays différents. Ce n'est pas l'avis de Bong Joon-Ho c'est un fait ! (ne pas oublier que le cinéma c'est déja 128 ans d'histoires)

je pensais connaître un peu le cinéma pas forcément grand public, en fait non Mais bon c'est comme la littérature, il y a tellement de livres à lire. Ce qui est un peu dommage c'est que ces réalisateurs ne sont pas présentés, mettons par rapport à des trucs plus connus.
