yknow, the original quake was supposed to be a fantasy game about this badass with a magical all-powerful hammer. i like to think this is the inspiration.
I just checked out the palette amd basically there are just 15 colours used for textures, each with 16 shades of darkness. Of those 15 only blue and yellow are particularly bright. The remaining 16 colours are a bunch of fullbright colours like red for those tech texture lights that have fixed brightness...
The funny thing is that there was a whole set of mayan and aztec inspired textures made for one of the episodes They where discarded for being too brown...
Protip: Unlike Shamblers, Gaunts track you with their lightening attack instead of snapping on to you, so circle strafing at a moderate distance keeps you safe.
Not only is the Ogre sound the same as the Duke 3D Pig-Cop sound, but they are the same as the Daggerfall Ancient Vampire sound, which just has tons of reverb added to it.
Quake veteran here. Thought I should preface with that. I wish the hammer on full charge would increase run speed. It would get you ready for a massive circle jump and then into a dash. Run to kill and run to hippity hoppity. Two birds one stone. I’m drinking too @icaruslives. Patch please unstoppable Quake mod devs.
Thanks for playing my map (who let the dogs out)! Fun fact, so I finished a rough version of the map by myself, but couldn't finish it on time because I had to go to a remote village in the Himalayas for three weeks as part of a humanitarian project. So thankfully FifthElephant made it look super nice and added good lighting to the map.
I'm comfortable with airstrafing and stuff but bonkjam gave me a lot of trouble because you need to charge the hammer for movement and I have mousewheel bound to jump for the past ... forever. I rebound space to +attack but even now I'm absolutely horrible at it.
How do I actually run it? I downloaded the files, but I don't see anything anywhere in the documentation talking about how to play it. Sorry if this is a stupid question, my experience with modding is with Elder Scrolls and Doom, I have no idea how to install a mod for Quake.
@@graahbrainsI think op is talking about the small characters shown walking over the HUD area in the first 2 minutes of the video. It was really annoying me too.
Good job I turned it off then isn't it. It's part of the stream that usually stays in the intro for Twitch subscribers. They can pick a Gundam or whatever, their comments show as speech bubbles etc.
Me: Oh cool! Berserker's Sword!!! Hell yea-- (The game plays some midi file likely from an old game and nothing like the class clang sound you heard in the anime.) ...You ruined it. You took the best weapon for this mod and ruined it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fxk1syuf5lo.html This is what it's supposed to sound like! (and ignore the 3D)

@@ICARUSLIV3S Except you were making everyone happy who came to your channel for the older style of video. Transitioning into a stream rewatch channel is the easier and lazier route. At least im telling you why im tuning out.
You are not representative of everyone. I thought the quote put it diplomatically enough. I still upload DMM when they're good and ready, I am not your personal indentured content farm. Shove off.
