That's great! Honestly, I'm considering doing this for other festivals I'm not even going to since it's such a great way to find new artists I normally wouldn't go out of my way to check out.
These list are great. One of my fav things about Roo is the under card. I have friends who will say the list sucks since they don’t like the headliners and don’t know anybody from the under card. Drives me crazy. Finding and seeing your new favorite artist is part of the fun
I get you. I was overwhelmed my first time too. My best advice is to pick 5 must sees, and the rest just try your best to check out without stressing too much. Roo is best enjoyed when simply going with the flow!
I appreciate these videos but Big Freedia (pronounced Free-DUH, she says her name in every song so not sure how this was missed) isn't a drag performer. Her performances aren't drag performances. She doesn't put on/take off her gender expression to perform. Again, thanks for the videos but as a longtime fan of hers (I'm born and raised in New Orleans and have been following bounce since I was in middle school), I felt the need to point that out.
Appreciate you pointing that out, I try to do proper research but sometimes get it wrong. Given that BF is leading the Drag Parade at Roo this year, I just had the impression she was involved in the drag world but to your point, I was making an uninformed assumption. Doing a bit more research I see that BF doesn't consider themselves drag or even a particular gender for that matter. Apologies for getting it a little wrong, but always happy to be called out so I can be more diligent in the future!
@@soundlearn I appreciate you, I really do, but there is no Drag Parade. There is a Pride Parade which Freedia is leading. Drag is just a singular type of performance put on by some members of this community. Again, I am really not trying to be a pain in the butt, but words are very important especially when it comes to this community and everything that is going on in this country against it right now. Much love and respect to you, sincerely.
@@user-ng8kc9mp8m Noted! You are not being a pain, I run a channel about education and I think part of learning is correcting mistakes, so I appreciate you. I am just glad my video reached someone who really knows the community and can point these things out. Will be more diligent with my words in the future!
