Aerial video of the salt flats showing the poor condition of the salt, It is mostly mud and the salt crust is very thin this year. Sadly it doesn't look like the BLMs salt remediation efforts are going to be enough. in years past the flats were pristine white and hard packed this year is bad enough that I wouldn't drive on it to get to the speedway.
