Gush! You girls and guys make me out of mind! I don't want to keep listening to but I can't help myself stopping to listen to! With my love! Please going on! I love The guy who play weird instrument?! It's so marvelous!!
I'm a 58y old aborinal man and I've never heard of Allison Krauss till a week and a half ago. What a beautiful voice, it touches my soul The music amazing with the guitar work unreal. I play this song anytime Never tire of it
She sounds like an angel, doesn't she? Here she is performing Oh, Atlanta with Union Station: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sZP5U6SW_08.html Its beautiful and catchy. Her voice is as clear as a bell. So glad you found her :)
She was born in 1971. Still a young lady in my mind. It is nice to see such talent, but let's give her accolades for her talent, some are just blessed with beauty, love, happiness, others wind up poor in such areas. Dare I ask if she looked like a hog would we honor her talent? Btw, I'm ugly as sin.
I hear you! I have lost count on how many times I have listened to this beautiful version! I will be seeing Allison Kraus and Robert Plant this summer!! I’m really looking forward to it.
Simon and Garfunkle are my favorite group. I was listening to this song on the radio in 1969. I had never thought that their music could be played in the bluegrass idiom, but this is a masterpiece.
Jerry Douglass just took every person who ever thought they could play a dobro, to school right here. Especially in the last stanza. It was played to utter perfection. The rest there should have been in utter awe. He was on another level.
Props to the camera person that not only captured the wonderful singing and playing of the ladies well, but each of the phenomenal musicians! What a perfect song!
@BGK2223 - The cameramen are important, but they're not calling the shots. The mind behind the visuals is the video director. He knows the song, knows who is playing what parts, and directs the video engineer to switch between multiple cameras. Each camera man is wearing a headset, and the director sets up the shots, calling them in advance - "Camera 2, go wide and close on Jerry's dobro to pick up both hands...", so the shot is already there. Then, when Jerry's solo comes up, the engineer switches to Camera 2, and...ZAH! - it's right there. They probably had a chance to run through the tune in a sound and video check, so the cameramen and engineers already had a good idea what needed to happen during the show. With a director who knows the music, it all comes together and looks smooth and perfect, like in this video. But all of these guys are masters of their craft, and the best of them can do a great job on the fly if they have to.
Two months on and I play this at least once a day, I find it so captivating, the voices and musical arrangements are out of this world. Absolutely superb.
Love Alison, this is truly a great version of an American classic. What a great country we live in for music, country, blues, rock, bluegrass, jazz, motown, folk, .... mix them all up and you have America!
Jerry Douglas is the crucible needed to solidify this song … one of the finest instrumentalst in the business. Allison and Shawn are amazing incredible singers… agree this is the finest blend of talents available to do this iconic song.
Some of the most awesome muscians of our age! Real artist don't have to flaunt their sexuality they just sing and play from the heart! You ladies rock! Love yas!❤
There sre a good number of guitarists who are masters of the instrument ~ what Jerry also has in abundance is musical integrity. Might seem a dumb thing to say nut, and British readers will know this line - he plays all the right notes in all the right places
Late 60's on a military base in Germany this song could be heard from every barrack block, brings tears to my eyes. The U.S.A. as it was once was back then leading the world; oh where are you now?
This is a testament of the beauty of music. Jerry is of course brilliant and Alison and Shaun playing off each other in harmony is sublime and mesmerizing. Wish I was there.
Dave! The quintessential songwriting of the challenges and characters growing up in NYC. And I'm from Boston! Anyway this recording is beautiful, poignant, elegant, heartbreaking, and how I'll always remember the special Ms. Colvin.
I did not know who these ladies were. But they knocked me down by their first voices. Confused but distincted voices. How beautiful each voice is and voices are ,I cannot say. I thank You Tube for this oppotunity, listening to their voices.
Omg Alison looks gorgeous, listening to an angel singing one of my favorite song, amazing voices beautiful person inside and out thank you for sharing.👋👋👋👋🤗💖😷👋👋👋👍👍👍
One of S&G’s best songs! I’ve been in love with Alison Krauss for 30 years - an incredible musician, the voice of an angel, and still as beautiful as ever…
I first saw Allison Kraus at a bluegrass festival in Mobeetie, Texas when she was just 13-14 years old. Been huge fan ever since. The lady has a fantastic voice.
I will never get enough of this song. Saw Simon and Garfunkel in concert one time in Baltimore in the late 1960s. Don't recall exact year. A great performance.
