No other woman can ever play a strat, move, sing and still look so hot as Bonnie Raitt. And to make it even better, Aretha Franklin on stage as well. Awesome
When Aretha is your yardstick, and you pass with flying colors, that says the world about you as an artist. So glad Bonnie is here with us on this earth. I was lucky enough to meet her while she was waiting to spend some time with the artist I was working with at a show in SF. What a kind and humble person she is, she deserves all her success and much more!
I have seen Aretha do alot of duets and usually she is very lets say rightfully dismissive of the other singers. Not here. She treats Bonnie like someone who belongs on stage with her. Great duet. As good as it gets.
This clip has Soul and a little Country, it gets no better then a mixture of really fine vocalists blending their style together to refresh a old-school hit.
3 things "it is the thrill of my lifetime" and you can tell she means it - next, play it Bonnie (and Bonnie plays a MEAN guitar) then showing r-e-s-p-e-c-t the sends it to her guitarist Tally and her pianist - love it love it love it - these women are electrically charged
I mean seriously!! This is a beautiful representation of the One Love, One Spirit we all are. Thank you wonderful Diva's for living your arts and talents and inspiring each other and the rest of us throughout your journeys!!
I sure do wish...'WISH' that this video was high quality...but it doesn't matter in the big picture of it all...it's The Queen Of Soul, after all and Miss Bonnie Raitt...That's all you need really!
there are few female singers who would even contemplate duetting with Aretha, but Bonnie does it with aplomb! She more than held her own and even Aretha showed a bit of (slightly grudging) respect but not too much. And what was Aretha thinking introducing her Son at that inappropriate moment ...
@jacobtong couldn't agree more. I'm 25 and loved how Bonnie SCHOOLED Alicia Keys when they performed at the Grammy's. It's so sad to see what my generation accepts as "good" music. HOW can you let people like Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, and Rihanna perform on the same stage as Bonnie, The Beach Boys, Glenn Campbell, Sir Paul, Springsteen, and Joe Walsh??? Thank you mom & dad for raising me on the GOOD stuff!!!!
@rubyred0039, I think your opinions are spot on, as well as your parents! I was lucky enough to grow up in the 60s and 70s, and make my living in this business. It was satisfying to see Bonnie be the yardstick that shows the mediocrity that we put up these days with much of this current generation of "artists". Alicia had no business being on stage with Bonnie, as did the others you mentioned. Hopefully Alicia will take some lessons, and I hope she overcomes those awful pitch issues!
Aretha Franklin no me gusta mucho pese a que es legendaria, pero Bonnie Raitt es para mí junto con Rod Stewart la mejor voz de la historia de la música. 😃
Since Aretha has "lost her figure", to put it mildly, these days, I would say, since Bonnie looks so much like her first album cover, young and not wrinkled, and no Munster's wife white streak in her hair, ----I would say this was done back in the early 1970s. Looking at the audience, with what seems to be guys wearing tuxedos, this could have been the White House? or anywhere people dress up in DC. Otherwise, I would have thought it was Vegas, or Cleveland. Bonnie is IT! and Aretha Rocks!!!
Hey Skubanut - here you have the chance to hear two of the finest singers, and one of the best slide players, ever to perform, and you have to pick on an inconsequential, and almost certainly prearranged, name check, and have the audacity to insult Aretha Franklin. Grow up, and listen to the music.
