It has been an honour to work with Bonobo, his incredible band and the iconic Royal Albert Hall for what is our largest ever live video production. Recorded on the the Royal Albert Hall’s 150th anniversary, as Bonobo became the first ever electronic music artist to sell out five consecutive nights at the venue, felt like a landmark moment for the electronic music scene that we were proud to be on hand to capture. We hope you enjoy the show.
As an ageing pensioner, I can honestly say this is one of the best gigs I have heard. Otomo also gave me goosebumps just listening to it with the fabulous Anna Lapwood.
One of the best concerts I've ever been to; incredible, incredible performance. When the organ came in during Otomo the sound hit you like a brick wall.
@@richardharrold9736 Couldn't agree more could we have a mix as it really sounded Anna's work on the organ just pales into insignficance compared to what it really sounded like.
This rendition of Otomo was like listening to our souls being faced with God. We make our music, feel our feelings, and in those moments the organ kicks in, we are reminded of creation and met with our destiny - and we stand in awe of it.
I've seen Bonobo a couple of times in NYC, and they were thoroughly enjoyable, but they don't seem to compare to the London performances -- they really pull out all the stops for those shows, as this video reveals ... and what a special treat to hear Andreya Triana perform that version of "Stay The Same"!
sure victoria and albert are dancing with us ...what a wonderful celebration of life.. Albert created the hub of the city words fail what an amazing story.. just mind blowing still to this day
Oh I wish I could be there. I get goosebumps just by watching and listening to it. It has been on repeat for a couple of days now. Every time I start to listen to it, something triggers in my body, and I feel some positive sensations and vibes. Like a force to move forward and to work on my goals. Thank you #bonobo for this magical music you have created.
As I seem to be unable to enjoy life performances anymore *(in person) these past few years I'm infinitely thankful for these high quality recordings. Thanks so much. Also: damn, so good.
Simon's got some range, miss that energy. Wonder if the stage felt as alive from a distance as it looks from the cameras up close... Loving the strings orchestra... Also a 5 night residency, more like a Prince Albert halfway home, residency laws are so much fun.
Yep same, I was there on the Monday night, can't say I was expecting something so good. The music was fantastic and the acoustics and sound system of the venue really took it to the next level. QUALITY 🤩
I feel like this is the full realization of Bonobo's live electronica/house sound. he's always been progressing into a more organic, live sound. not sure if it gets any more live & organic than this. I'd say it's his pinnacle, but I doubt it 🤩
I'm enjoying this in front of screen as well what I can say now is that God is good.. if it is your wish to witness something alike in person i recommend you observe the stars tonight, my friend and you'll see, the cosmos is full of wonders on top of it..
@@ETz-RYANH. Bonobo full live band (him, guitarist, singer, jazz drum player) is totally awesome live. I saw it once with classic orchestra too in Paris (around 10 instruments violin, cello, trumpet, so on)
when anna lapwood kicked in, i got 2weeks goosebumps… happy for everybody who can get this live in the royal albert hall. mic drop moment when the disco ball was alight🔥🫶🏼 what pure moment of joy and love for music in this room… Simon💚
I had never heard of Bonobo before, it was only through Anna Lapwood that I found them. She was at the hall practicing when the crew was setting up. A part was written specifically for her last minute to play the organ parts.
Me and my gf (now wife) lived in Australia for two years. We had Migration album cd on repeat the majority of the time. Amazing memories come rushing back whenever I hear this music. Driving along coastlines, through forest, farm land and more. Thank you Bonobo.
My god - Age of Phase with this light show looks so mind blowing. And Otomo with the bomb orchestral support - music doesn't get much better than this. Incredible.
Damn! This needs a 4K video upload with the audio at least 256kbps! Will this go on streaming platforms for audio? the 128kbps audio is crushing this amazing set
over the years Simon absolutely moved to heavy weight class of musicians. top top class - very complex, intelligent music. and special skill of playing live even better than on longplays. exquisite stuff.
This performance of Otomo made me tear up, that pipe organ, thank you Bonobo and Anna Lapwood, it’s like all of human existence has led up to this extraordinary ability to create and share beauty on such a level.
I played his songs so many times and seeing him with a fully stack instrumental team and stellar singers it gave me from song one goosebumps. Bonobo is the inspirational musician this world needs. Big gratitude that we have him 🙏
