They leave when they get healthy because they don’t want that mental tick in the back of her mind to go off and be like “if I leave will his health deteriorate and I would be responsible for his death? I don’t want that on my conscience” so they decide to stay, for a need to preserve their own mental image of themselves and when they see that he’s healthy now she’s like “oh I can leave now and he’s healthy so no consequences to me” that’s why they leave when they get healthy. And there are millions of other reasons but my speculation is probably the most common

Some people in relationships turn into care takers, and less of a partner or lover. So when the person gets better or improves to a stable point... They bolt. That care taker role loses its purpose and the love feeling is gone. It's messed up.

On the topic of weight loss leading to divorce, it's for very sad and ego driven reasons. When someone marries someone conventionally unattractive, even if there is true love in there, there is the idea that the marriage is out of pity or them settling. When things suddenly change and attractiveness increases, one side feels like they have new opportunities and the other doesn't feel obligated anymore, which is why the divorce happens. Sudden change is a true test of faith, and many fail.

Okay hold on a minute you don't marry someone just because they look attractive if that's what you're saying, that's just stupid. Because I even try to talk to some pretty girls, they had a bad attitude and I didn't want anything to do with them. I don't care how how pretty they were if they didn't have a good personality then I'll find someone who does. There's something out there for everybody but since we're talking about boogie here, he's made his own mistakes and his mistakes are no one else's but his own.

I think why people decide to divorce after their partner gets healthy, is that so they don't feel guilty. Like, if you leave your partner while they're sick as hell you'd feel pretty guilty

I've been following this channel for years and what I always liked about this channel compared to other reaction channels is how they actually pause the video they're watching and spread thoughtful information and insight about the material. Some information I hadn't even known about, especially when they reacted to Nostalgia Critic's videos on the movies he covers.

I feel like with waiting until someone is in a better place to divorce/break up whatever, the logic is to not kick them while they're down. But I do think it is strange to wait, because now you waited until they were better only to kick them back down. So thats a tough one!

This kinda scenario is best seen in Brooklyn 99 with Sergeant Terry Jeffords and his ex. He was wanting to break up with ger, but her mother had just died so he decided to wait until the time was right and she was okay to let her know. It was a terrible situation, and it almost feels like there's no right answer.

I know this is 3 months old but sometimes leaving a relationship when someone becomes healthy can be from either not wanting them to do better OR finally feeling like they can leave BECAUSE they’re better. As another comment stated, sometimes a partner can slide into a caretaker role and when their partner gets better, it’s inevitable that they’ll leave.

Good on you, Nick, for not getting sucked into gambling! I remember I had a slightly similar experience where I was given a voucher to use the slots somewhere. The MINUTE I got above the amount of money they offered me, I took the money and left. Have never went back to a casino since! :)

The idea is to not have income tax at all. Taxes for goods, driving on government-maintained roads, vehicle registration, etc. can be enforced without the need for the irs.
