“God is a concept by which we measure our pain”-opening line to John Lennon’s solo hit in the key of GMaj. A week after fans celebrated his life, I thought I’d chime in my own developing spiritual concepts. For my 17th birthday, and for Hanukkah, later in 2005, I got music CDs of The Beatles’ music. Listening to their songs opened me up to a spiritual reality that the Lennon/McCartney songwriting team put forth. This reality of “peace, love and understanding”, championed the 60s Counterculture Movement and sparked a milieu of others posthumously. When it became clear to me, on a conscious level, that technology had put a hold on some of the spiritual aspects of human life”, I got to a point where I decided to trace my steps back, to remember what it was like to have to physically go out of my way to reach people. When we focus on believing in spiritual concepts, rather than simply adhering to strict biblical interpretations, taking words from other religious scriptures literally, we allow ourselves the opportunity to let go of societal expectation; to create opportunities for those who may not have as much easy access to them.
Your cosmic purpose 🙏🙏Awesome 🙏🙏Being in order neither exploit nor get exploited . Set up a society where a child able to know Existential Reality...and not learn or see inhuman behaviour...
After writing two comments on this video and noticing a like on one of them, it’s with a 🙏ful ❤️ that I receive this reaction! Im not writing these comments and expecting any type of reaction whatsoever. Nor am I about to ask who liked the comment. However, Im enamored by the presence of people who find some delight, investment in writings that imbibe perhaps Talmudic, Kabbalistic wisdom I wish to impart on a society that oppressed members of a community that my brother and I are proud to be members of. Reading voraciously from a very early age gave me the impetus to spend my life challenging society’s definitions of concepts that were established via a Eurocentric perspective! Engaging in concepts of spirituality that stem beyond conventional religion is exactly the type of discussions that we need to have, and meta modernism is a spiritual Avenue Im interested in exploring. “For the love of dream speeches”, have a meaningful MLK Day, everybody!
working on the notion of a unverse experiencing itself via a human vessel on my own channel, would love to chat with both of you at some point in the future.
In subsequent years, I purchased each band members’ solo hits and there it was, that one song. “How do we come to understand ‘God’”? How do we balance traditional values in a society that has seen rapid technological progress and, only now, seems to be embracing progress on a spiritual level? Hm…! One must oneder.
He's still hung up on the notion that Consciousness arises from brains. Brains only monitor levels of awareness. Per Shankara's (788-820) Advaita Vedanta, the entire universe IS Pure Consciousness, as an Ontological Identity, what Aristotle called "Being-In-Itself. Other names for It are the Ousia of the Stoics, the One of Plotinus, the Tao of Lao Zi, the Substance of Spinoza, the Ein Sof of the Zohar, and especially Georg Cantor's Absolute Infinite. This is experiential in the state of Samadhi that transcends the mind, and methods for entering this state have long been in existence since the Vedic era, and in Buddhism since Nargajuna (150-250). C. is fundamental.
