I love how he is so diverse in his readings. All American Boys is a book I didn't think would be on his shelf! And I'm really happy about it, he just made me an even bigger fan! ❤️❤️
You are the first youtuber I watched that noticed that Marieke Nijkamp is actually from the Netherlands which is very cool, and don't worry if you have to say the name in English you pronounce it right. I really love your video's I always dropp everything when you have posted a new video. Greetings from the Netherlands.
JESSE! The absolutely true diary of a part time Indian was one of the best books I've read. It's such an eye opener and you're right, not many booktubers have read it! But I really think you'll like it :)
Your book hauls are always some of my favorite videos to watch! I've been in the biggest reading slump the last three months, but this video makes me want to read ALLLLL the books! So thanks for helping me out, Jesse! :D
You're the first booktuber that has mentioned The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian! I feel like it's such an underhyped book AND author. I read it awhile ago and I really enjoyed it :)
The absolutely true diary of a part time Indian is a really good book!!! I had to read it for an English class and it's one of the very few I've liked!
The Bane Chronicles is such an awesome book! I don't think you need to worry about anything. It's just sooo fun and Magnus Bane is like the best. Ever. 👍🏻
omg and jesse you NEED to read The absolutely true diary! Sherman Alexie is a great author an poet! I read this book in high school and it was soooo funny and the meanings and message behind this book is so powerful and eye opening to native American culture
The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian was so enjoyable. Junior was so funny, and even in tough parts, manages to be funny. Endearing, enjoyable, and easy to read. I think it's a middle grade novel, but it was amazing! Can't wait to see a review!
Jesse, I highly highly highly recommend the audiobook of The Bane Chronicles! I recently got it to just listen to in the car, and it fits Magnus and his personality so well.
Jesse! you remind me of Marshall, the character from How I met your mother, he always sings about things he's doing. haha cute! I love all your vids ;)
I bought This is Where it Ends because of this video. I have to say that while the subject matter was very dark and a serious subject to write about, the book was a very good read. The writing style was simply amazing and I really enjoyed it. I hope you get to read it soon and do a review!
I'm so excited and nervous to read This is Where It Ends. I bought it a few weeks ago and I think I'll read it after finishing my current read. I also think it'll be important and powerful. Love your channel!
the absolutely true diary of a part time indian was hilarious! I loved that book. I also teared up at some points during the book. I bought it on a whim at my school's bookstore.
If you don't know who Melanie Martinez is then ignore this comment....Jesse looks like Johnny from the Soap and training wheels video ; that's a huge compliment. Love You, btw!
I just finished Lady Midnight and it was INCREDIBLY AMAZING! I need the next book soon. (Love the way you say pillow) I actually ordered a phone skin from Evie's store.
YOU HAVE TO READ THE ABSOLUTELY TRUE DIARY OF PART TIME INDIAN! It is super moving, yet also funny, and inspiring! Please read it: more of Book Tube deserves to know about that book! I really enjoyed it:) And it is SO much more than how you described it:)
Great haul!! Love the ADSM merch! I'm currently reading it and I'm in love with it! Also, the cover of In Real Life is adorable. Putting it on my list of books to buy.
Your pronunciation of Marieke Nijkamp is soooo funny 😂 the perks of being Dutch is hearing people pronounce things is the funniest ways. By the way, flirting on goodreads would be hilarious 😂😂
I've also picked up Lady Midnight and The Bane Chronicles this month. Also, I FINALLY picked up Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children! Picked up the last book in the Winner's Trilogy by Marie Rutkoski: The Winner's Kiss (and so far it is heartbreakingly amazing!), Legend by Marie Lu and Fallen Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes!
I finished A Gathering of Shadows recently, and even though I think the first one is still better, she still knows how to kill us with the end of books...but oh man that shirt! I want :)
I just got City of Bones and i'm only on chapter two so far but it's so good I can't wait to read the rest of it, I got it because I've been watching the show!! I also got Red Rising for my birthday last week along with city of bones so i'm excited to read both of them.
Honestly, your haul videos are the best part of my month and either that is really, really pathetic or it's because you're really, really awesome. Hoping it's the latter.
I always watch your videos to see if there's something I'd like to read and that one book with the boy who's an artist sounds pretty good so I wrote it down. Also looking forward to Lady Midnight and the Bane Chronicles but I'm still reading the actual Mortal Instruments Series so this has to wait. Thanks for all the vids and the suggestions :)
The first two books you mentioned, "In Real Life" and "This is Where it Ends", I almost picked up when I was at Barnes & Noble earlier today. Ended up not getting them, but next time I go back, I definitely will now that I have more insight. Anyway, I ended up walking out of the store with: Asylum, Truthwitch (one of the booksellers sold me on it), A Drop of Night, and The Infinite Sea (sequel to The 5th Wave). And I just ordered Tricks by Ellen Hopkins from Book Outlet a few minutes ago because I saw the sequel, Traffick, also at B&N and the description captivated me, but I couldn't find the first novel, so I didn't pick it up. Can't wait to jump into all of them.
All American Boys is such an important and powerful read!!!!! I got to meet these authors and got to speak with them one on one and hear them speak with a group about elements of this story. So incredibly interesting. I hope you like it!
I'm reading This is Where it Ends right now.I'm 70 pages in and it's really good! I'd love to hear your thoughts on it when you finish it! You definitely gave me some books to add to my TBR! :)
I'm currently reading Challenger Deep and I highly recommend it. I also went in blindly, knowing nothing about the book besides that it deals with mental illness and I'm kinda glad I did that because it made me more interested in the story. If you haven't read it yet, definitely pick it up!
CHALLENGER DEEP WAS DA BEST! Such a surprise for me, but I audiobooked it. Not sure which is the better version but the story is fantastic. Excited to hear your thoughts!
I also saw The Absolutely True Diary..(too lazy to type the rest) everywhere and din't pick it up but one day I finally did. It is really good so you should read it. It's quick and you'll fly through it and be inspired.
Oh my god for some reason "The Dark Artifices" has been registering as "The Dark Artifacts" in my brain because I've never heard anyone say the actual name 😱😱😱😱
Your pronunciation of Marieke Nijkamp is pretty good! Much better than others pronounce it anyway haha. It's literally the most Dutch name you can come across and it's so difficult to pronounce for foreigners :P (my name is femke so I'm in the same category 😂)
Actually Junior stays on the reservation and goes to the school. He doesn't move anywhere. I recently read that book for school and it was pretty funny and cool and also deals with serious stuff.
I love your videos! I just started Throne of Glass and I'm seriously planning to make my next D & character like Celaena cause she's amazing ! I also just got Fangirl and I'm hoping it will be awesome !
I had to read The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian for my psych seminar and I enjoyed it. I think you will like it. The main character is funny.
i got "this is where it ends" from the library and im in a reading slump right now. i have an hour and a half before I gotta get ready for work. im gonna stop watching the video and go read now. thanks!
In Real Life sounds interesting and I love that cover. I thought I saw it in some store but I forget which one. Maybe I just remembered it from your previous video. Also the cover for This Is Where It Ends looks really nice too. I didn't really know what it was about until now and I'm interested in reading it. I read The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian for school last year. It wasn't bad but I wasn't a huge fan of it. It was better than a lot of what we were reading at that time. Also Lady Renegades! I can't wait to read it. Currently reading Lady Midnight and already finished The Bane Chronicles.
Hey Jesse. Do u think u could do a video showcasing your book mug collection? Also it might b cool to do another video for your bookish items.I love Evies store, too. I just got a mug today that reads "Reading is Beautiful" and a Cassandra Class clock is on the way. :)
I'm super glad you picked up The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian! I feel the same way about it; I've heard praise for it and seen it on shelves for years, but I hadn't bought it until recently. I'm planning on reading it soon and can't wait to hear your thoughts!
