Exactly I don't get how this is going over everyone's heads. He's saying "don't sacrifice your lives for a killer" he wants them to stand down and is playing into their small town sensibilities by saying "don't give your lives for a cold blooded killer who would be killing you if paid to". He doesn't expect them to die for him or the pykes he just wants them not to help fett. It's crazy how many people don't get this.

can we talk about how well the facial expressions, the pursing of the lips the aggression that was portrayed under the facial makeup and the intensity on the few lines of dialogue.... genuinely one of the best western face offs I have seen on tv. Truly one of the best scenes in this episode that was full of amazing scenes.

Landing in the middle of town with the jet boots is way less impressive than using them to land out of sight and walking in to town from out of the desert. Also, doesn't give away that you've got jet boots in case you need the element of surprise with them later

He didn't walk through the whole desert though. Notice the direction he was coming from. He was walking a short distance from the ship parking lot where the deputy ordered him to move his ship about an hour earlier. That's why he was so pissed at the deputy and gladly unloaded his blaster into him.

I don’t think this line has anything with his distaste with the empire. The line was supposed to tell Cobb that Boba is not worth fighting and dying for because: “He’s a cold blooded killer who worked with the empire.” Boba being a killer and working with the empire is supposed to deter Cobb from working with him because the general public A: don’t like killers and B: The empire. Bane probably doesn’t have any ire for the empire, just like Boba doesn’t either. He’s a bounty hunter. Doesn’t matter which power controls the galaxy, as long as he can get his credits, he’s happy. And I can bet you the empire employed Cad Bane on the regular.

I mean he's working with the Pykes and they are pretty garbage as far as valuing other beings lives. He's no better. I think Boba has some hard feelings to the Empire. In ESB Vader kept "changing the deal" to him and Lando's annoyance. Maybe the Empire was the "fools in charge" he was annoyed with.

The fact that Cad Bane is anti-empire in this series, could be a very clever way of explaining why one of the best bounty hunters in the galaxy didn't make it in Darth Vader's original line up.

I feel like people are forgetting that the empire was racist to a degree. Only humans were allowed in, except Thrawn because my boy was just too good to pass up on. The empire did hire Bossk, so perhaps Cade Bane did not like that the empire was not inclusive to other races unless there was some use to them. I feel Cade Bane was allowed to be hired, but he just disliked the fact that low level aliens weren’t allowed to become storm troopers etc, not to mention the enslavement of the Wookiee’s probably gave Bane some sense of what might happen to his own.

Yes and he cant evolve so he's just tired, miserable and angry. On the other hand Boba has overcome his past self with all the Tusken tribe experience. So I believe they'll fight and Boba will win as a symbol of Boba overcoming his past "bounty hunter" self.

Line had literally nothing to do with Cad's thoughts on the Empire. It was simply him planting seeds of doubt in the commonfolk when it comes to who Boba is. He's telling them that Boba's no better than he is, he's a cold blooded killer too. And yes, he did plenty of jobs for the authoritarian regime that oppressed those people for nearly two decades.

If Cad Bane has any distaste for the empire, I think the explanation is a lot more simple than him having a tragic backstory with them or whatever. Simply put, Cad Bane doesn’t like authority. When the Empire took over, they started requiring that Bounty Hunters obtained an Imperial Peace-Keeping Certificate to operate. This centralized a lot of bounty hunting operations, and placed several rules upon bounty hunting, such as requiring peaceable surrender of bounty before using force, regulated application of force, and required that one who had the pass did not accept illegal bounties. It essentially made Bounty Hunters like a dog of the state and reduced their agency when it comes to obtaining and executing bounties. That’s just not Cad Bane’s style. His tactics and methods operate a lot better working with a powerful criminal organization that the empire wouldn’t touch, like the Hutts or - in this case - the Pyke Syndicate. So while he’s definitely trying to use Cobb Vanth’s sentiment for the empire against him, Cad Bane’s methods just don’t work with the centralized authority the empire commands.

@@rustyshield Considering Cad Bane was considered the top bounty hunter in the Galaxy next to Jango Fett, and can kill Jedi with ease, and all we've seen him do in The Clone Wars... Well, Cobb Vanth is good, but Bane is the best. His age might be a factor now, but he also had even more experience as well.

Honestly, I think it was just a dig at Boba to get freetown to not weigh in on the fight. Since Freetown is an old exploited imperial town and all, saying something like that would tarnish the purpose of teaming up with Boba, even if Din asked. But seeing as it didn't work, he just went to threaten, and then blast them.
