People don't realize how big of a feat Bane resisting a mind trick from the chosen one and two of the most powerful jedi of all time *at the same time* is. That's absolutely crazy for a non-force user
You can’t be the best with out beating some of the best from time to time, just look at Jango facing off against Jedi while he had *no weapons.* Bane showed not only his competence but, his mental fortitude and his will power which is something to truly behold.
He became one of my favorite characters because how he gets by without force powers, he’s like a mandalorian. How big dick you gotta be to break into the Jedi HQ multiple times and be getting hired by Sith Lords because they know how raw you are. And he fights some of the strongest jedis in Star Wars and beats them.
@@mateo10734 exactly. He's a mandalorian *without* mandalorian armor which deserves extra recognition. Not enough people seem to realize that about him
@@Noone-qs5jt good pt. A lot of people argue about whose better him or boba, and how boba won the duel. Although it’s kinda banes fault for not wearing a helmet, he woulda taken a shot to the head and lived like boboa if he has beskar on too.
I always thought he did that due to the nature of the business. His “customers” ie. Jabba and Palpatine aren’t the most kind people, so he can’t afford to show any weakness
See that’s the thing about Cad Bane. His talent and ability are enough for his clients to work on HIS terms, not the other way around. If Cad Bane demands triple, you’re gonna pay him triple. He’s worth it.
“Kidnapping innocent children. Seems like a small time crime for the likes of you.” Dude, Cad has balls to talk like that to Sidious. He has literally no respect or fear of him and I love it.
Mace Windu surmised that Bane's fear of the client he worked for (while kidnapping Jedi younglings) was greater than his fear of the Jedi. Bane did not show it, but probably did fear Sidious.
when I saw that as a kid I didn't understand the danger of the tooth pick so I thought that his species had poisonous saliva and that was where the danger came from
I honestly prefer him in his big hat. It just emphasizes his presence in a room. Also he literally killed a guy to get it back, so that shows it has some form of sentimental value to him.
He didn't kill a guy to get /his/ hat back. He killed a guy because he wanted /the guy's/ hat to be /his/ hat. It was a nicer hat than the hat Cad had immediately before.
@@jangofresh1019 27:55 nope he makes the sarcastic remark of “That’s a nice hat. Where did ya get it?” Pointing to the fact that he knew it was his and wanted it back
@@skycrewnega-4986 Why? People keep saying this but the hat matches his hat in Bad Batch and in the later seasons of Clone Wars. He lost his larger brim hat when he was arrested.
@@kaijudirector5336 May be an unpopular opinion, but I like him more without it, and embracing a bit more of the western influence with that slightest bit of twang to it now.
@@vadernation1233 a bounty Hunter of his calibre is likely way too expensive for most people, so it makes sense that only someone like palpatine could possibly triple his price
@@SoI_Badguy What’s wrong with Cad Bane’s cowboy hat? But my brother said is because he’s a freaking space cowboy that’s why just like that Cowboy Bebop, I agreed to Anakin and Ashoka!🤠
One of the things I loved about Cad Bane is just how rarely he loses. Often in shows like this the villain has to lose for everything to play out properly. It’s part of why Grievous is way less threatening in this show than in Legends. Bane on the other hand has more on-screen victories than failures, making his appearance at any point far more dubious and concerning for the fate of our heroes
One of the few known Star Wars characters who was a non force user that not only held off more then one Jedi on more then one occasion but also resisted a mind trick from three Jedi at once. He seemed like on of the few characters whose plans worked out one way or another.
Bro that was different, qui gon wasn’t going at his best (he was all about letting the force guide them so he just went with it) whereas Master windu, Master Kenobi and Not master Flipping ANAKIN SKYWALKER, were, nuff said.
Jango killed 5 Jedi at once with his bare hands. Durge is a walking one man army who’s killed more Jedi then any other bounty hunter. General grievous(old canon grievous anyway)has killed entire Squads of Jedi with little effort, and even mace windu stated that Obi wan was the only Jedi who could take on grievous because of obi wans unbreakable defense. Jedi Mind tricks don’t work at all on the intelligent, resisting them aren’t difficult if you have a strong mind. 3 at once is impressive but it also nearly broke him doing so. Cad Banes definitely a impressive fighter, but his biggest strengths were his instincts and intelligence. Plenty of other non force users out shine him in combative skill, but non(except maybe Boba but it’s still highly debatable)out shine him in his skills as a bounty hunter.
This one bounty hunter (an amazingly professional bounty hunter don't get me wrong) almost destroyed half of Palpatines plans by almost killing every Republic senator and Anakin Skywalker. Just on one of his jobs.
@@long_chin_man yeah but Palpatine not having Anakin just means he loses out on gaining a more powerful apprentice than maul or dooku, it wouldn't have affected the clone wars and order 66 that much I think.
I liked that episode because Palpatine was in control the entire time until Cab Bane came in and had his boot not only on the republic but also on Palpatine’s.
I love the maniacal laugh when he gets the lightsaber. It’s like his love of being in power and control takes over a moment… and what I love even more is that he only gets 2/3 swings with it, suggesting he’s hugely untrained with the weapon. Small details paint huge pictures 👌
Also the fact that despite being relatively clumsy swings, they still held off a jedi master.... As a non force sensitive who's clearly new to handling a lightsaber.... Chad Bane is nuts
Non-force users have a hard time with lightsabers as force users use the force to help keep their moves with it balanced. Him using it without loping off his own arm was impressive. Boba Fett can use one to a limited extent as well. They won’t match a trained/experienced force user’s lightsaber skills, but it can still work as a surprise as most folks don’t expect non-force users to use lightsabers.
I'm pretty sure he actually let himself be disarmed by Obi-wan. It would make sense, he knew that he couldn't possibly beat a jedi master in lightsaber combat, so he let Obi-wan disable him, knowing it would give him the few moments he needed to use his shock gloves.
I love how Bane is instantly introduced as the best of the best since Darth Sidious himself contacts him for his services. He could've easily just gotten Dooku, Grievous or some Separatist leader to hire him but instead the most powerful Sith of all time personally offers him a job. Such a subtle detail that says so much about Bane's reputation and skill in the first few seconds.
They’re building up to Thrawn. Thrawn will be the big bad of the Mando-verse tv series. They’re gonna build up to him through each show until it reaches a climax where they all team up against him vis a vis Thanos in the MCU
Considering all the Sergio Leone influences, if we got him and Hondo in Book of Boba Fett one of the episodes could be a Star Wars-themed remake of “The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly” Boba= The Man With No Name (“The Good”) Bane= Angel Eyes (“The Bad”) Hondo= Tuco (“The Ugly”)
27:53 is an underrated scene in my opinion. Just goes to show how Bane is literally the most skilled in the group (Not counting Obi-Wan who was disguised as Hardeen). Had he been a bit slower things would have turned out differently, but the fact Bane narrowly outdrew Bulduga there really demonstrates he's not someone to be messed with.
@@matthatter5099 Read the Official Wiki page for Bulduga. It specifically states he was known for having a Quick draw. Yes, ethorians were typically known as peaceful people, but Bulduga and his brother were an exception. I'm inclined to say Bulduga being chosen for the challenge reflects a bit of his skill, he may have been slower than Bane but he certainly didn't suck at speed considering that's what his reputation rested on.
What I love about Cad Bane is how they have a character that is established as a fast shot, and then bring in Cad Bane, and he absolutely owns them, like Hunter and now Cobb Vanth
It’s a long shot, but I hope they have Cad Bane in Book of Boba Fett. Since the original storyline between them was cancelled. Edit: The Mad bastards did it!!!
@@thespacecowboy71 oh it is? Well, I would Ike to see their rivalry fully explored since it would be beneficial to Boba’s story as a infamous Bounty Hunter against another infamous Bounty Hunter
@@granalmirantethrawn2972 I didn't say I didn't want them to meet. I'm totally down to see Cad again. I'm just telling the person that the fight Boba and Cad had was canon :/ I worded it badly though so
Cad Bane Appearances: Clone Wars: *You are on this Council but we will not grant you the title of the master* CW-Bad Batch: *Rank of Master achieved* Book of Boba Fett: *HIGH GROUND ACHIEVED*
Now that we know he was alive during the first trilogy, if the rebels really wanted to destroy the death star, they just needed to pay Bane the right price. XD
Cad Bane is still one of the coldest Bounty Hunters to ever appear in any media. the voice, the look, the techniques and gadgets, the way he plans out things on the fly and just the unstoppable force he is is just fantastic. I was literally just about to go to bed the morning of the Bad Batch episode he appears in, nearly dozing off, but as soon as he appeared: i was wide awake! it was such a cool moment to see him return and when i heard he was in Boba Fett, i couldn't believe it. This guy is a legend and i would watch a series with him
@@superguy7044 more popular doesn't mean better. And canon evidence suggests bane is the best one. "The popular belief isn't always the correct one" - Clone wars season 6 episode 4, Orders
@@Noone-qs5jt no. canon is, jango was the best. he even trained cad bane and helped him out. after he was killed, bane became the best. and when boba came to age (aka 15y old) he defeated bane in a duel and became the best. thats the canon version of events of who is "the best bounty hunter in the galaxy"
Takes more to overthrow a government as large as the Republic than killing a few senators, as that would simply place the others on high alert with significantly better security. To overthrow a government that large, you need to be a politician yourself like Palpatine
All Mandalorian Bounty Hunters rely on their hack armor and their Cheats and Gadgets. Cad Bane on the other hand only relies on a flamethrower, a shocker and a wire. Other than that, he only uses his twin blasters (with the best blaster sound in all of Star Wars), some Jet-Boots, a sick Trenchcoat (second best after our Boy Hondo) and an absolutely badass and iconic hat. This guy is far more skilled than any Mandalorian so far, because without their armor, they're nothing.
If you ever wanted a good example of how badass Cad Bane is, he makes demands to fucking Palpatine of all people and gets away with it. If literally anyone else told palps "triple my rates." he wouldve force choked them to near death and said "watch your tone".
Cad Bane when accepting a bounty from Nute Gunray: "The legends my old pappy used to tell me say that our people were once one... So much for genetics."
Cad Bane is one of those characters from the Clone Wars that I will always remember in memory. Out of the primary moments in the show, my favorite was him killing that alien for a new hat. It was quite a surprise to come across his live action scenes, albeit I'm not heavily invested in Star Wars, i have a new appreciation for his legacy.
See I always love the bit at 5:23 where he asks for specifically the gravity generators as opposed to something like ray shields. Even though it was likely just to set up the next fight scene, it just characterizes him so much to ask for gravity generators, something that literally no one else would ask for.
Boba, Jango, Cad. Boba has the best most ruthless and effective bounty hunter title. Jango was a damn PMC leader who killed Jedi. Cad was a great ex special forces bounty hunter stand in, also the coolest fucking Duros ever.
I love how John faverau and Dave filoni made him. He’s pretty intelligent being able to take on Jedi and even killing then. He has evidence of an ex military background due to how tactical he is and how he always wins a shootout because of how experienced he is. He truly is the best
Cad Bane: Boba Fett is a cold-blooded killer who worked with the Empire Also Cad Bane: Kidnaps children, tortures Jedi, works for a Sith Lord, associates with the CIS, murders people in cold blood, kidnaps a child, steals a holocron from the Jedi temple
3:43 "Villainous mercenary Cad Bane was high to steal a holocron from the vaults of the Jedi temple" I mean, yeah, you would have to be pretty high to think doing that was a good idea
