The process must have been so exhausting Very tiring as well for you but I’m glad you got everything sorted out and this video is amazing and I didn’t know you have a Windows 11 laptop as well and also, I totally understand what being a disabled person is like and i totally understand that

Yes, it was very long. I really like my laptop, it is the HP envy and I've had it for a few years but it works very well for me!

I have found my access card well worth the money. I get what you are saying about accessibility but for how much time and hassle it saved me was well worth the £15

Thank you for this video. I’m trying to book tickets to Wicked for my mom who uses a wheelchair and I had no idea how complicated the process is.

Your hoodie looks super comfy! Hoping it isn't too cold there. Did you mention that accessible tickets cost more than other tickets? That's illegal in the USA. Is there an organization or advocate that can help fight that? Your cat helping you buy tickets was cute!

Thanks, it is really comfy! Its from Urban outfitters! No, they cost a bit less but having to pay for a seperate card to access them doesnt feel very fair to me. She is a very helpful cat as cats go

I have to get accessible seating when I go to events in London now, and it can be a nightmare. I got one of those access cards a while back, but have never used it. I did try joking that they'd see how disabled I was when I turned up at the venue, but that didn't slide 🙃 I tried doing it with the venue assistance and my crutches at the o2 last March, and had a nightmare. The help was amazing, but where you park is ~ 1/2m from the arena, and you have to wait for someone to get you, then wheel you in. I almost broke my neck on the wet floor when I fell over b/c my crutches slipped, and ruined my hoodie, too. Last time I just took my wheelchair, and then got valet parking, so I'm right at the arena, and my friend just helps me on the slopes inside when I can't move myself. Frustrating we have to pay, because we're less able than others. I scanned my DLA forms onto my PC, so I can mail them to the venues showing I am on high for care/mobility.

I can’t imagine I’ll use the card ever again after this application I can’t lie! I think using the chair gets you better access because people see it and assume you need actual help! Having your documents on the computer is the best idea

@@SmallandStrong66 same as that, I bought it because I needed it for one event, and it has been in the drawer ever since! It definitely does, and we also get the added bonus of tickets effectively being half price, too. We have to have some perks 🤣

I'm an oddity with ATG. I was an exception to the nimbus as I'm registered sight impaired so they'll just take my CVI (certificate of visual impairment). The prices tend to be good too and they've offered me different types of access seats due to my different requirements. I did do nimbus for a different theatre though and that was a little annoying and thankfully that went through fairly fast.

Booking theatre tickets is a nightmare. So much admin. I go to quite a few different theatres and pretty much everyone of them had a form to fill out to get tickets especially if need a carer. Luckily everyone I've been too accepted the PIP letter. This access card is ridiculous, shouldn't need a card when already have a PIP letter. Least the theatre does offer a free access card though.

I thought PIP certificate sorted everything but obviously I was incorrect here 😂 hopefully the next theatre I go to accepts it

Access consultant over here trying to do SO MUCH work with theatres on things like this. So many people don’t have the listed proofs but still need the accommodation, and PAYING FOR IT? It’s madness. I really don’t like the wording or policies on Nimbus but because disabled people were involved in its curation they feel no obligation to adress it. Sorry you had to endure this and i hope the show is worth it!
@SmallandStrong66

Oh I see I hadn’t known that disabled people were involved in their website. I suppose not everyone will think the same and eve thing will have a different opinion

Being disabled is so difficult the amount of forms to fill in is so exhausting. I can’t believe that we have to pay £15 that is like saying to someone with cancer pay £15 to come to hospital it just isn’t fair! The whole system is just messed up. I am glad that you got to go to the theatre eventually!

Just send your PIP letters. That is all you need to do.

I needed one doctor's letter. They often accept things on an individual basis. It was very simple registering for ATG. Same for Ticketmaster and O2. But having that nimbus card and showing it at a venue they can't ignore what it says. It's helpful to have that card as they won't question it. They are not allowed to as it's made to keep your medical information private.
