Dear Kat, thank you so much for this lovely message and I’m so sorry I didn’t respond sooner! Not sure how I missed this. Thank you for your kind words and thoughts about Alice. It is much appreciated. Gemma and I talked this week and we have decided we are going to carry on, as this was a project we all loved so much and we are sure Alice would want it to carry on as well. The first few lives will be difficult without her, but we will get there. She gifted us both the Kingsolver, so it would be terrible if we didn’t get to it and talk about it. Will announce live date soon but probably beginning of September 🤍🤍🤍

We both loved Agatha Christie, but she also pointed me to a book from the woman prize called “careless“ by Kristi Capes and “how not to get murdered in acquaint English village“. It was also a book about books that she said was her favorite book and I bought it. I’m sending you a lot of wonderful healing vibes. Friendships on this community are strong and everlasting. I'm doing BookTuber appreciation month in August called Alice August I was going to start Strangers on a Train the day we got the news and will probably still read it regardless of what ultimatly ends up happening with fomo. One of my last books I finished before getting the news was Sundial by Shirley Jackson which was a June buddy read with Alice, I thought it was rubbish but was excited to hear Alice's thoughts. A few books I have selected to read in her honor are Cloud Cukoo Land, Case Histories, Agatha Christy, and Jack Reacher; but not sure when that won't be rio painful to start.
What a wonderful tribute, Zach, to our lovely friend. I also have yet to pick up Strangers on a Train - it was all too painful at the time. But I will get to it. I will get to all of these books and more because of her. Thinking of reading these books connected with Alice just highlighted her absence in the beginning, so it hurt to think we would read something she didn’t get to. But am starting to see it differently. I know Alice would never want us to not read something because of her - that would be the exact opposite of everything she stood for! Cloud Cuckoo Land and Demon Copperhead are on my kindle as well because of Alice. She leaves us a wonderful legacy of books, for which I am immensely grateful.
