Ah yes, can’t wait to read Montaigne’s deep philosophical pondering in essays such as: “About Thumbs”, “About a Monstrous Child”, “About the Custom of Wearing Clothes”, and, of course, “About Cannibals”. Thanks Emma
When I tell you I SPRINTED to the comment section hoping everyone was posting their big 3 hehehe... I got The Charthouse of Parma moon, The Prince sun, Keats complete poems!!
I really enjoyed these recs. I feel like a lot of recs are easy to predict but I was completely surprised. I'm a Virgo and I never thought of reading Montaigne. I can't wait to pick it up.
Loving the Emma Holy Trinity (minus some Mitford) Justine: Sun, Orlando: Moon, Iliad: Rising. It’s the fact you’ve made me add these all onto my bookshelf before this video has said it all really
I’ve been wanting Montaigne’s Complete Essays for a couple of months now for my birthday on September, and I’m a Virgo. And you mentioned Montaigne’s Essays for Virgos.. this must be a sign from the universe.
As a fellow pisces and soon to be a-level english literature student, I will be reading keats poems which I'm so excited for so thank you for the recommendation also :D
I guess now I have to read Justine 🤷🏻♀️ Also, I am someone who liked both The Charterhouse of Parma and The Red and the Black, but I did read them at different times in my life.
ENFP?! You’re way off track. I believe she once said ENTJ which doesn’t really seem like it to me but hey only she knows herself. But definitely a T type.
@@LovelyDay11 I don’t think I’m “way off track.” Of course, only Emma knows what she truly is, but this is my observation based on watching many of her RU-vid videos. Perhaps Emma’s most delightful quality is her ability to skip from one book to another, one subject to another, with such ease and agility. That is a hallmark of extraverted intuition, which is an ENFP’s dominant function. Extraverted intuition is an ENTJ’s 6th function. It’s way down there. Emma screams extraverted intuition. It just doesn’t make sense for her to be an ENTJ for that reason alone.
@@LovelyDay11 Emma’s interest in fiction as opposed to non-fiction (she has stated many times that she is not interested in history) also strongly suggests that she is an artsy feeler rather than a nuts-and-bolt thinker.
yes self improvement classics please ,,, also my favorite video in your channel is "5 books that changed my life" i would like a part 2 .. also it would be very interesting if you ranked the first line of randomly picked classics of your shelf!!!
As a Capricorn man, I cackled when I saw your comment about having "a fucking problem." Hey, I'm glad to be one of your "absolute favorites," LOL. As for The Prince, I'd switch it out for something by Nietzsche or Dostoevsky. My gut tells me that Dante is appropriate too since The Divine Comedy really is a text about power at a cosmological-metaphysical-theological level (i.e., justice, order, and the structuration of this world and the world to come).
So would you say you're kinda a book channel now? Love you 😂💕 also I guess Hamlet and Hamilton would work for an Aries too just generally :) ☀️Capricorn ⬆️Virgo 🌜either pisces or aquarius (don't know my birth time).
Lol literally have my next ‘bedside table’ read ‘planned’ as Montaigne (praise the Virgo Sun) 😭 and can finally point at the Sade on my shelf in understanding of that Aquarius Moon 🌝
I thought you made a good job for the most part but I laughed out loud when you chose Stendhal’s Charterous of Parma because I had to read it for school and hated it and DNF’ed and I am a Taurus ♉️ but my friend who loves astrology told me the ascendant rising sign is stronger so that’s why I don’t recognize the adjectives you used to portray my sign. But you definitely made me (for a while) read more classics. Montaigne in particular and The Odyssey.
Hola que tal?, Los mejores y más cordiales Saludos desde puente piedra, lima, Perú, ojalá que puedan venir en algún momento a mi país y que disfruten mucho de todo por aquí, con la familia y los amigos, felicidades por sus vídeos....
the way my fav boks are your book recs for my signs!! the aeneid (/the odyssey ofc ) montaigne the iliad also i feel you with the capricorn men part shfhdshshd
My big 3! Sun: goethe Rising: the prince Moon: the charterhouse of Parma ✌🏻💫💁🏻♀️ I do own a copy of the prince, maybe this means I should finally read it? 😅
Interesting recommendations. Happy to see something other than YA, Science Fiction or High Fantasy books. Also, my recommendation was The Prince, hope that doesn't say a lot about us capricorns
about to do the most virgo thing ever but costar is rly shitty if yall didnt know!! i highly recommend timepassages instead and yes i did buy the complete collection of montaigne’s essays like two years ago when i first heard emma recommend him
As a Virgo, I would have gone with Plato’s Republic, purely because it is about the creation of a utopia. We Virgos are highly perfectionist, overly critical, and generally quite selfless. I will be sure to check out Montaigne’s Essays though!
The Eneida? I Don't read. Thanks Emma. I prefer breviarium politicorum of Mazarino than the Príncipe. I think the Best book of Maquiavelo is discours of the First decade of Tito Livio
Can I just say, as someone who has eyesight problems, that strange green background with the obscure font is dreadful. I think either a ‘unique’ background/ or font not both please!
Wow- yeah I’m a Leo 😂 and I can shut up, I just excited and ramble especially when nervous. And I think I’m interesting? I will dump a load of facts on you- so like?
