My all-time favourite fall/spooky season book is Dracul by Dacre Stoker & J.D. Barker. I feel like barely anyone has ever heard of that book but it's incredible! It basically tells the story of young Bram Stoker and what led him to write Dracula. Super creepy and atmospheric, super thrilling, classic gothic vampires and a trio of amazing siblings as main characters (I think this would be right up your alley, Noelle!).

Woo hoo! The Freddy sweater is back! Noelle, you rock that sweater! haha Here are my fall recs: - The Last Halloween by Abby Howard (graphic novel that is dark, super funny, and atmospheric) - Hannah-Beast by Jennifer McMahon (short story about a past accident and revenge...DUN DUN DUN!) - The Hellbound Heart by Clive Barker (one of the most beautifully written books I've EVER read) - The Forgotten Island by David Sodergren (if you love slasher movies, this one is FOR YOU!) - Naomi's Room by Jonathan Aycliffe (one of the most shocking books I've ever read. So spooky) - Goddess of Filth by V. Castro (subversion of the classic possession trope) - Ghostland: An American History in Haunted Places (non-fiction about how we tell ghost stories reflects on our attitudes towards our/America's past) - The Exorcist by William Peter Blatty (my fave book of all time, and I re-read it every spooky season) - The Diviners Series by Libba Bray (1920s new york meets supernaturally gifted young adults) - Coraline by Neil Gaiman (creepy and so atmospheric. The audiobook is amazing.) Every year, I challenge myself to read 31 books during spooky season (September 1st to November 30th). Here are some of my more anticipated: Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir, The Ballad of Black Tom by Victor LaValle, Books of Blood by Clive Barker, Exquisite Corpse by Poppy Z. Brite, Speak of the Devil by Joseph Laycock, Origin of Satan by Elaine Pagels, A Dowry of Blood by S.T. Gibson, and Legendborn by Tracy Deonn. :)

Because fall makes me wanna exercise my noggin, I'm kicking off fall with a non-fiction book - Empire of Pain by Keefe, which is about "the secret history of the Sackler family" (Purdue Pharma/opioid epidemic). Also plan to re-read The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon by Stephen King because it was the only SK book my dad would let me read as a kid & he was my dads favorite author. Been missing my dad a lot lately, as he passed in 2010. So I'm reading it for the ~nostalgia~.

I'm from Brazil so we're gonna be entering spring but you totally put me in the fall vibes!! This year has been a little slow in terms of reading for me, but watching your videos I always get so excited to do it :)) I've started reading The Silmarillion because of the new LOTR tv show, so I guess this is on my "fall" TBR, also thinking about finishing Dorian Gray which I think fits perfectly! After watching this video I'm considering Dracula and Macbeth too. A little too ambitious but that's fine 🥴🥴

I am currently reading ‘It came from the closet - queer reflections on horror’ and love it. Also you can never go wrong with some Kafka in autumn.
