okay, your hair is utterly gorgeous and your bookshelf is GORGEOUS!! You have so many stunning editions of books!! I loved how this was such a chatty tour! ♡
Yay! Another person who reads the Shadow Falls series! Oh, and the CoN order goes Infinity, Infamous, Invincible, Inferno, Illusion and Instinct. Your shelves are so pretty.
I love your bookshelves! They are gorgeous! I really have been wanting to read the Shadow Fall series. I don't really know what it's about but something about the covers catches my eye everytime I'm at a book store!
Seriously pass it up. It is one of the dumbest series I have ever read. They try to justify the fact that his mother is so poor that she has to be a stripper for a living but she can still only bring home rancid meat. Single mothers get all sorts of financial aid that would include non rancid foods. So why keep stripping if it is ruining your kid's life and you can't buy anything but expired meat. Wait. Just don't buy rancid meat. Keep the money and buy eggs or toilet paper. Lol It has TSTL syndrome.
TSTL is too stupid to live syndrome. Why would u spend $ on spoiled meat? Go work at McDonald's. By the way, when was the last time u saw a store sell meat that could poison a customer? Like never. Oh because of silly laws that might get them sued or FDA regulations. ROFL
Book Mistress Sorry you didn't like the book. SK's stories have some hard but truthful content to take in, and you have to have a certain maturity to respect. These books take place in the 90s, when things were much different for single mothers, especially teen mothers. And yes people in poverty in some states were forced to buy goods on the verge or past expiration back then. It still happens today, even with so many programs such as welfare and foodstamps. Take a look at the huge movement of Grocery Outlet stores popping up in Southern California...its a racket selling expiring goods. I also work with groups that feed homeless and poverty stricken families, and we get so much rotten food donated by stores (all of the well known stores), it is sad and disgusting. We throw out more rotten food than edible goods given to families in need. Nick's mom being a stripper and them being in poverty was a back story set many many years ago before Chronicles of Nick was written. CON is a spin off of an adult series. In reality, many children grew up in that kind of setting and still do. Also those programs do not give single families enough money to live off of, and if you get a McDonalds job (as you suggested) the state cuts your welfare checks. A Mc'Ds check alone is not enough to live off of either. Not that I approve of the story mother Cherise's choices, but I do know personally the struggle of single motherhood, and it is portrayed well in both series. Life is not as fruitful as you suggest with gov assistance, but I agree with your sentiment of get a better job and make better choices for you and your child. I can't attest to the struggles of teen motherhood in New Orleans in the 80s and 90s, but I remember friends growing up on welfare in those times and it not being much diff for them than how the story portrays...and I grew up in a much more progressive state in regards to gov help.
turnip lol So sorry, I did not see your comment. CON is the story of Nick Gautier's teen years starting when he becomes a squire for the Dark Hunter Kyrian. It is a spin off YA series from an adult pararomance series. Dark Hunters are mortals turned immortal warriors to protect humans from daimons (human soul sucking villans). One only become a DH when at death (more like at murdered) their sould cries out for revenge so loud that Artemis hears it and comes down from Olympus offering 1 chance at revenge for a lifetime of service defending humans from daimons. Because at transformation a Dark Hunter takes on a form like a daimon (ie: fangs and an allergy to the sun *inside DH joke) squires were created to take care of the Dark Hunters during the day while they sleep. They protect the identity and secret of the DH and paranormal world till death. Nick is not an actual squire as he is not old enough but Kyrian takes him in as an unofficial squire since most squires are raised in ancient squire families, and Kyrian wanted to help him and his mom. But the CON series changes everything, because Nick is more than he or anyone else knew. A future Dark Hunter, Ambrose, goes back in time and prematurely unlocks Nick's true nature in the hopes that the world can be saved from the Malachai (a demon strong enough and sworn to end the world). There are gods from every pantheon known and unknown and demons running around all over this series. It is such a fun adventure. *There is some very difficult realities set in this world much like our own, and I do not reccomend young people to read the adult series as it is full of horrible horrible emotional triggers. But the CON series has a strong anti-bullying message and is more appropriate for teen and new adult readers.
I was so hoping you would have the Raven boys. I am currently reading it and I am absolutely loving it! The world is so interesting and intriguing. Unlike anything I have ever read. I think you will love it :)
The Dreaming is a great Manga series with a great storyline. Another is called Hollow Fields which is great too if you don't mind the main character being a child :)
You're bookshelves are so organized, Jacqueline! (I apologize if I misspelled your name.)😁I would love to have bookshelves like yours!😍Fantastic video!👌🏼
+Shelley Lawrence Yes I just prefer hardbacks! I think I actually have more unread books then read ones just because some are apart of a series and I've only read the first or haven't started them yet!
OMG PJ IS SO GOOD! I just finished it like last night, and I was bloowwwwwwwn away, let me tell you! And don't even get me started on HARRY FREAKING POTTER GAHSDKFHKLAJ:FKLJASFJ. Lovely shelves, by the way!
Hey lol you got the Chronicles of Nick series in the wrong order lol it's Infinity, invincible, infamous, Inferno, illusion, and instinct.... And it's great you should totally read it!!!
+sombodi200 +Leilani Neal I thought they were in the wrong order too I knew I should've check it! I know it's not the finale in the series it's like a 12 books series if I'm correct...probably not lol
I love your shelf so much, it's incredibly organized! Just subbed ;) Also, I didn't understand, did you or didn't like "My heart and other black holes"? Thanks :*
Your bookshelf looks awesome! I just bought Thrones of Glass by Sarah J. Mass, and have a copy of An Ember in the Ashes, which will be getting read very soon! If you're looking for some recs - especially fantasy - you should try Lucy Hounsom's Starborn; The Summoner: The Novice by Taran Matharu, and Malice by John Gwynne, brilliant and fun reads, thanks for sharing your video!
+Caitlin is a Kitty Cat (caitlinisakittycat) Yes sadly I have no room for them upfront but at least I know they are back there. I do have "shelves" in my closet but I wish I had another bookcase!
+Jbooklover Any chance of a bookshelf tour of them at a later date? 😊 I thought I remembered there being more shelves in your closet, but I thought I might be getting you confused with someone else.
Caitlin is a Kitty Cat Yes! I'm planning on having everything situated in the next couple of months. I wanted to post this one now since I've been requested a lot!
I wish people doing these tours didn't feel the need to go through every single book of a super-popular series like Harry Potter and Mortal Instruments. We're all familiar with them. It's needlessly repetitive and wastes time.
Some people are new to books, or booktube and might not know about those series. It's important in my opinion to keep everyone in mind, I'm sorry if you found it repetitive!
your makeup looks gorgeous in this video! you need to read the Vampire Academy series btw! Your shelves are gorgeous i've just filmed my top 16 must reads of 2016 and i'd love for you to check it out :)
