Boom Hoist Wire Rope on Mobile Cranes - Failures & Considerations 

Learnt more about wire rope failure in the last hour watching this video then I have in the last year.... I would disagree with the comments on lubrication though, particularly the reference to 'solvent cut back'. Many rope manufactures dissuade against this, given the introduction of a solvent also removes any remaining build lubricant, best going with a solvent free spray or drip feed... otherwise a great video #rsclare 😁

This is awesome for me, I'm doing mechanical engineering at the moment with an interest in crane and conveyor operation. Cheers for this, very much appreciated.
