Jonas Neubauer, an inspiration to not only me but the entire Tetris community, has passed away. I can't believe it, man. Such a genuine and humble dude with a personality that was so easy to fall in love with. I don't want the magic to be over. twitter.com/neubsauce/status/1347769622947274754
I really, really would like to now why he has that opinion. Why for newbies and not for pros? Why in the finals and not in the first round? This is coursing through my mind since i watched this epic video for the first time in 2018. WE NEED A COMEBACK OF THAT COMMENATOR!
Ruslan Zarifov It's like saying he'll be Jeff's muscle. To bang for someone is, for real thugs, is saying they'll shoot their enemies or take care of any problems they have. Obviously not that real in this situation lol
It wasn't intentional, but this video completely changed the face of the CTWC. There are so many new competitors that only know about the CTWC because of the 2016 championship, which grew so much because of this video.
the chanpionship itself, or this meme edit? the championship has millions of views, it was so mesmerising in and of itself. if you meant this meme edit, maybe it brought a few viewers, but the commentators and competitors are the real driving forces for the event! love it so much.
@@pc31754 This meme edit definitely got us more than a few viewers! Though many of our new viewers saw the 2016 video as it got the youtube algorithm pushed it, I think most of this video's traffic were from shares and searches for the meme itself (which this is the best example of) and thats pretty impressive. Not to mention the repeat viewership. I wish it got the same kind of algorithm push as the others. It provides a highly entertaining condensed summary of why CTWC can be fun to watch and that comes across in seconds, easily sharable which leads to increased interest. Thanks so much again Procrarast for your contributions to our community, we'll keep trying to do our best for the audience you helped us to build!
Almost everybody in the 2020 tournament meet the top 8 showcase referenced this video as an influence. This perhaps is the most important video for the CTWC in the current era because it opened the floodgates for the next generation of players who may not have grown up with NES tetris but are competing at its highest level.
Amogh Bharti This one is worse because you can't move pieces once they land and on level 20 it falls to half-screen level in a 3rd of a second meaning you also have to be able to button mash at very high speeds.
Boom Tetris for Jeff BOOM TETRIS FOR JEFF b o o m t e t r i s f o r j e f f for Boom Jeff Tetris ffeJ rof sirteT mooB An onomatopoeia for an explosion, followed by the name of the accomplishment of clearing of four lines at a time in the video game Tetris, and the person for whom it is in question, who is identified as “Jeff.” *BOOM* Come with Jeff if you want to Tetris. What the hell Jonas, why the fuck did you just clear a Tetris
millions, actually. 2016’s championships blew up, there was definitely something with the commentary that made it so interesting to watch. im really glad someone finally explained how awesome they did with 2016 as well as last year, i really cant wait for this year
Press [F] to Pay Respects This was either the first or second Tetris world championship video I ever saw. Jonas and his Wife seemed like really chill people from everything I've seen.
I can't believe this video is the sole reason we have such a talented Tetris player like Joesph smashing records and showing us things that were thought to be inhumanly possible.
I could be reading "War and Peace" right now, or practice playing piano, and yet I'm choosing to watch this video because this is quality content goddamnit! This is the internet as creators intended. I love it. It brings me joy. Thank you. BOOM! Tetris for Jeff!
So funny 😂 😂😂 I lose it at 0:34 with koryans facial expression, he’s just made it to the top 4 and he looks like he is half asleep and has no clue what’s going on 😂😂
Dude, you changed the whole NES tetris scene. This video got Joseph interested in NES tetris, who in turn interested a whole new generation of players. 2020 CTWC has so many teenagers destroying the OGs now. Awesome stuff.
But bam is nowhere near as signigicant a sound as boom. Boom is any explosion, while bam is the sound of slamming the door when you walk out after a crushing defeat.
Jonas taking that W again. You definitely need to include the Quaid reveal with the "fuck this shit" part and I'm looking forward to a bit of Buco as well.
I saw the original video like 6 months ago.. and i knew... i just fucking knew someone was gonna make a ytp out of all those "tetris for jeff"'s Well done sir.
It’s funny looking back on this video now, knowing it is literally the reason why the CTWC has exploded in popularity and quality players. So many of the new top players: ‘I watched the Boom Tetris for Jeff video’ Hilarious video but also firmly part of Tetris history. Creator deserves a lot of credit. GG

Glad to see that the uploader made those videos public again. They're very funny. In fact, the videos are not "immature". The whole competition is. So you should never be ashamed of them.
