The only thing missing from SU this year is a technical piece. They would always slay JSU-Who with something so musically challenging that you laugh at the 1/8 notes/ 1/2 notes and whole notes JSU consistently play.

JSU doesn't have it this year. They are battling, but they are not the same , sounds like they are missing some horns and their book/arrangements are severely lacking. Plus they stay jacking SU for songs. Be Original

They're missing about 20 trumpets. It would have been a better battle, but they don't have the high end to be a more balanced band. I actually miss those random 3 or 4 trumpets ignorantly hanging over at the end of every other song, lol...

Can Hardcore SU fans tell me why Dolls couldn’t perform they would’ve help SU win or better. That book is boring and I was bored hearing them blow without dynamics. I like SU but they are overrated and have too many bandwagon fans. Better Battle this year I’ll give that.

jheht2000 first they didn't need the dolls to win anything for one. Ssecond Their book is superior to any others band beside JSU. Not saying JSU book is better they can just compete for a while but SU book is the best in the land. I don't understand how you can say their book is boring Third they played with a lot of musicality not at the beginning but the fifth was a good display of their musicianship

jheht2000 Boy stfu, you're over rated. J-STATE band is not complete this year. Only 2 sections I really hear are Tubas, and Mello's. Trumpets garage. B-tone, T-bone's just don't have it this year. SU WINS

Byron Shipp I didn’t say they book was bad. I simply said boring and that’s my opinion. Both bands have musicianship so SU is not alone in that category. Again the band is complete with all its components. As a band head I rather see a complete performance including the auxiliary.

Alex C That’s true but in all of my years in band everyone performs in the rain, sleet, or snow. The sponsors have a whole kit to fix hair & makeup. No excuses!
