Fun fact, in every bizzaro comic, not only is there a blueberry pie, but a stick of dynamite and an eyeball. I think there are more too, it’s just sorta like an eye spy book in every comic
Yeah, the number above the signature is the number of things you have to find. There's also a rabbit, bird, crown, pipe, shoe, K2, O2, saucer and more.
On the Bizarro comics: The artist likes to slip a number of out-of-place things into his panels. He's known for using a specific set of items like sticks of dynamite, for example (look at those again).
If you see a Bizarro comic, you may want to look for these: The Pipe of Ambiguity (a pipe for smoking) The Flying Saucer of Possibility (small ufo) The Bunny of Exuberance (bunny :D) The Eyeball of Observation (a lonely eye of course) The Inverted Bird (a bird upside down with a hat) The Pie of Opportunity (that pie) The Mighty Oyl (O2 symbol, stands for Olive Oyl) The Lost Loafer (a shoe) The Arrow of Vulnerability (an arrow) The Misteries of K2 (K2 written somewhere) The Crown of Power (a small crown) The Fish of Humility (a fish tail) The Dynamite of Boom (a.k.a The Firecracker of Pop) (a stick of dynamite) ... I haven't seen half of them so far, but Bizarro's website lists them.
there’s a small number written by their signature in each comic which says how many little secrets are contained in that comic! i always loved looking for the little things as a kid hahaha
6:38 The joke is that the knights are being used as treats, specifically treats to hide the deworming pills that their pet (the dragon) won't eat on it's own
0:34 Fun Fact: The rings are a result of changing seasons. Trees and all plants for that matter grow faster during the summer and slower during winter, mainly due to the accessibility of sunlight and the cold causing damage by freezing internal liquid. The part of the wood that grew during winter grew slower and less effectively than the parts that grew during the rest of the year and summer, creating a visible difference.
Bizarro actually has a bunch more things they hide in their comics, like a stick of dynamite. It it got more with time so so you won't find all in older ones
I worked for a store that was only kept open for a massive gated elderly community where even the land deeds said you couldn't own the land unless you are 65 or older. More elderly customers were so cruel the turn around for cashiers and deli workers was 2 months. I was the cart worker so lasted a bit longer.
4:33 Most Bizarro cartoons since 1995 include one or more of these elements hidden somewhere in the cartoon: an eyeball (the Eyeball of Observation), a piece of pie (the Pie of Opportunity), a rabbit (the Bunny of Exuberance), an alien in a spaceship (the Flying Saucer of Possibility), the abbreviation "K2" (referring to Piraro's children Kaitlin and Killian), a crown (the Crown of Power), a stick of dynamite (the Dynamite of Unintended Consequences), a shoe (the Lost Loafer), an arrow (The Arrow of Vulnerability), a fish tail (The Fish of Humility) an upside down bird (the Inverted Bird) Olive Oyl, or the abbreviation "O2" (the Mighty Oyl) (first occurrences in May 2017) a smoker's pipe (the Pipe of Ambiguity), added 01/01/2021[6] As of 2008, Piraro indicates how many symbols are hidden in each strip with a number above his signature.
0:05 I think the joke was that the dog was going to guess "Licking your balls" not "kicking". I also love the faces on the rest of the dogs present. It looks like they already know what he's about to say, and don't want him to say it.
9:39 That just reminds me of how, in ancient China, they had porcelain neck-rests instead of fabric pillows. Imagine a bunch of Chinese court ladies having a “pillow fight” with those. XD
8:00 the funny thing he is that your average laser point is a output power of about 5mw, anything stronger than that can cause permanent eye damage except under extremely rare circumstances
Today I learned that Twitter has been around since at least 2009. That means I’ve gone at least 15 years without ever having a twitter account. Here’s to 15 more!
1:21 if anyone is wondering, the robot’s name is ¶ (the paragraph symbol) in English, unlike what EmKay said. EmKay translated the binary into numbers.
11:59 in America, most highways are 3 or more lanes, one slow lane (the far right lane), one fast lane (the middle lane), and the passing lane (far left) i dont know how it works in other parts of the world, if 2 lane highways are more common or if it is most commonly 3 or more
11:44 youd love what i find during my temp job then, i clean up after the office workers and they have little tiny plastic ghosts that they leave on the tables 😭 theyre so cute
the binary at 1:18 (10110110) could translate to a few things if it's an unsigned integer: 2+4+16+32+128 = 182 if it's a character then it's (a ? in a diamond shape) if it's a signed integer: -128+32+16+4+2 = -74 there's a ton of other ways but you'd need more info to figure out what way we're supposed to read it. also does anyone get the horse parliament joke? ok thanks i have an answer to this now
For Context, Aye and Nay are considered politer versions of yes and no, and generally used when the latter two would seem too definitive and harsh. It did fall out of fashion in general English conversation, but is used in places like Parliament, Congress, Local Government meetings, etc.
5:35 when i was in high school i worked at a public library and they did something similar for the kids’ program, the only reason i remember this is because when the butterfly emerged from its cocoon this kid shouted “HEY THEY’RE RELEASING THE BUTTERFLY” at (i assume) her brother and he started flossing
3:02 OUCH, right in the childhood… I used to wear them, and only them, all the time as a kid (except for school, where we weren’t allowed, which I STILL don’t get)
If there are 3 lanes, the middle lane is the fast lane, far right lane is regular lane (sign may say slow traffic keep right), far left lane is a passing lane.
In theory the middle is the fastest. In practice the passing lane is fastest because it's full of people "passing" everyone in the middle lane and going 10 over the limit. And god forbid you go anywhere near as a slow as the speed limit in the far left carpool lane.
11:49 It's not the 'fast lane', or the 'passing lane', we all know it's the 'crime lane'. The right is for going the speed limit, the left is for going 95.
the reason there was a pie is thing that they do in all of the Bizarro comics by Dan Piraro he likes to hide little things like that like a ufo or an eye ball or a stick of dynamite iv been a huge fan for years
I feel the same way, but in more of a self-shaming way. Napping makes me feel guilty, like I don’t DESERVE to take a nap because I could be doing more important things and if I take a nap then that means I’m a failure of a human being lol
Yeah, our class raised caterpillar into butterflies in theory. My classmates kept ramming into their container wen they were in cocoons though, no none of them survived. The thing was kept RIGHT behind my table section, too, and no one was seated on that side of the table. We were told not to go near it when they were cocooned, too, and no one had any reason to go over there anyway.
1:26 the pie is meant to be a part of several easter eggs the author hides in their comics, the point is for the reader to find them, as a sort of lite where's waldo
6:58 "Interstate 95" or "I95" is in Florida, and it connects along the east coast, going north-south. I think the joke is that the couple in the car ended up in the everglades. Although I have no idea what the giant ants are about.
5:39 my mom & dad sent me to an asylum because, my mom's shrieking at me, bothered the family; I was returned with no diagnosis: they had the records expunged immediately: they are Kathy & Wells Hutchins, they deserve nothing.
@@thecorrectanswer_probably Actually I think I did Silk Moths in first grade and Monarch butterflies in kindergarten. I was just struck with a memory of the caterpillar disappearing from it's tank and then sometime later a kid found its chrysalis hanging from the underside of a chair.
Alot of these comic strips seem rather clever I like the use of different actions with words people associate with something else Bizzaro's comic strips seem the best I like the use of literal humour
13:03 There's an anime about that. I forget the name but it has this girl that couldn't take the abuse she was receiving at home and drinks some sort of poison that kills her and resurrects as a zombie that requires a specific leaf. That's about as much as I can remember of it.
5:36 Do silkworms into moths count? 6:35 Took me a moment, but the princess is trying to give the dragon heartworms via the knights. Or she's doing it to actually get the dragon to take it's meds.
Section 182 of the Canadian criminal code deals with the crime of dignity against a human dead body. You don't wanna know what that robot was in for...
I see a farside comic, the comic that is the inspiration of my sense of humor, also Baby Blues is also amazing especially the animated series and the Tales of The Farside animated special
the punishment for people who drive slow in the passing they're all in the same Highway and like in the same road so they're like forever getting an arguments with each other
