Kartik! You're a genius! This rendition of the song was all MAGIC! MAGIC! PURE MAGIC! Just when I thought that the old one you produced is so amazing, you and team Maati-Baani bring this magical rendition. Blown. That's my state right now. The iranian folk bagpipe with that pretty girl playing it, you had me, soothing strings, harp, tropical percussions, @Tao never disappoints, he is too good, Double bass and viola? Voila! What an arrangement, what an idea sir ji! Edit: I forgot to mention the cellos. Oh! Lovely, so much calming. I was taking all of it in and then you dropped the bomb, @Meira Segal with Scottish Bagpipes and then @Kristine West joining her. Man I couldn't breathe for a second when she started, my eyes glazed, overwhelmingly happy to listen to that tune and have that sound reach my ears, I was almost in tears, by now. I had chilling goosebumps listening to Meira. And @Shalini Mohan ji, you keep that bass swagger on forever, suits you. Last but not the least, Nirali's powerful yet smooth vocals. Damn! You have raised the bar for all the creators out there. Maati-Baani, I would like to thank you for bringing all these wonderful and so amazingly talented people altogether (14 musicians from 9 countries). Man haven't you beeen setting records now. Then the team went on to record visuals, so beautifully set up, so nicely arranged, on beat, each and everything. You all are wonderful people. May all of you stay blessed forever. Hats off to y'all. Lots of love to y'all from Nahan, Himachal Pradesh.
@@niralikartik I do not know if you remember it or not, but during one of your online live sessions last year, someone had mentioned creating a song by mixing western classical and folk music, to which you responded as well. And then I saw this already beautiful folk melody combined with violin, viola, cello, double bass and harp giving it an almost tchaikovsky style harmony. Was it a coincidence or anything ? But if you did consider the suggestion, then it is quite overjoying. And I think the magic and brilliance of Mr Shah is yet to be fully portrayed, which I am sure is through his guitar solo in the next song "Albela Sajan".
@@jahnvisingh8015 thanks again Jahnvi :) The idea of the EP Nomad songs was to have music of various cultures for each song. Boondan has Scottish inspiration, Albela has Spanish influences, Moko Kahan - Persian and Dhoom has shades of Rock :) While Kartik and I compose together and work on melodies together .. the music arrangements and the sound designing are Kartik’s !
@@niralikartik It is so fascinating to see how you both are able to create music having a blend of so many cultures. Every song of Maati Baani has a different mood, vibe and genre altogether. The brilliance of you and Mr Shah is beyond any kind of description. One can not help but appreciate it and be inspired from it. I pondered and realized that it is the nature of music to make us realize that how different we might be in terms of cultures, traditions, linguistics or ethnicity, we all are tied together by the uniting thread of humanity, and you have mastered utilizing its power. No wonder why it is called music beyond boundaries. Fusion exists in multiple forms but not every piece has the power to make one experience the boundlessness and unity. Also, I would like to mention that Mr Shah's guitar solo in Albela Sajan was so inspiring that it inspired my younger brother to learn guitar just a few days back. Maati Baani true source of inspiration for millions of people in this world. Thank you, Regards, Jahnvi
Choosing between the two is like comparing apples and oranges. This version is different and will definitely take time to develop. But no doubt this version is incomparable to any other Maati Baani song in terms of arrangements and instrumental sections.
This is one of the finest songs of Maati Baani in point of view of Collaborations as well as musicality. I name it "The ecstatic shower of Miyan Malhar".It is not just a song but a journey to a place of elatement, joy and ecstasy. Get chills every time I hear this. Though it has been over three months listening to it, it is as fresh as the first listen. Hindustani Classical Raag, Folk lyrics, Western Classical Harmony, Celtic and Balkan instrumentals, Scottish and Iranian bagpipes, tropical percussions, perfectly complementing bassline, scintillating guitar and breathtaking vocals, all blended in together to create an other wordly experience. The melody, harmony, visuals, everything is just spectacular and out of this world. The opening itself creates an atmosphere of grandeur with the stately sound of the Ney Anban along with the percussions and perfectly matches with the snow capped mountains in the background. The exposition slowly evolves into a much more familiar sound, the guitar riff. The reverb effect for the guitars seems as if a distant sound, is heard somewhere, and is echoed at far off places in the form of the stringed instruments throughout the world to sing the universal song of peace and hope. The vocals bring up all the nostalgia of the song and the harmony created by the string quartet gives a feeling of grandness, not to forget the recorder and celtic harp which gives it a fantasy, fairytale vibes. The vocal and the woodwind melody counterpoint but still complement. The Viola pizzicato at the beginning of the second verse appear as if the instrument tried to mimmick the spluttering water and went quite well with the vocals. The percussions are a splash of freshness in the song and are played beautifully. The song does not end there, but extends with a change of mood from whimsical to refreshing ,with the advent of the Scottish Bagpipes and continues with the Jugalbandi of the recorder and pipes which can elate anyone's heart. Finally the recapitulation with the Ney anban and all the other instruments give this song a majestic ending. I can keep on describing the beauty of this song forever. The arrangements of this song are near perfect and undoubtedly the best of Maati Baani's. Nirali and Kartik never fail to disappoint me. Once again you have made me admire music and arts to a greater extent. Keep on shining and creating such pieces of art. With love, admiration and appreciation, Jahnvi (I am extremely sorry if I wrote to much,)
I don't see any logical reason to feel sorry when you've done this community a great service by painting a rich, insightful analysis with your words A delightful piece woven together for an equally delightful song. So, thank you!
Thank You Jahnvi for telling us what you felt ! Precisely what we felt through the whole time of putting this whole song together 💜 So much love and stay safe 😇
@@Maatibaani I am so glad that you liked my opinions. Your comment brought me an equal amount of happiness that I got listening to this song, if not more. Thank you for making my day with your comment. This is the time we all require hope and calmness and this song did just that. I wish you more luck and happiness and hope you stay safe. Can't wait for the final and my favourite song of the album "Albela Sajan". Looking forward to more masterpieces from you.
@@niting1500 Thank you so much. Your words mean a lot to me. I do not think my words are capable of any comparison with this majestic song. Gratitude for your kindness.
I legit thought the yellow instrument at the beginning was a Pikachu stuffed toy :D. jokes apart, this was just magical & breath-taking! Gonna be on my playlist for the next few weeks at least :)
@@kriyaprashant4141 It looks like a tulum, a traditional bagpipe from Turkey, but the girl is not playing the instrument she's just posing for the video. You are not hearing the sound in the in the recording.
Like rain itself has different moods, both these versions are like that. One is the fresh burst of monsoon that heals parched earth of the plains. The other is the all encompassing, ever present, mellow mood of misty hills.
OH MY GOD!!! The original is one of my favorites! It's such a great Indian semi-classical piece...and you guys have completely changed the feel of this song from that into this absolutely beautiful nomadic rendition! All the instruments sound amazing! Congratulations to all the artist for gifting us with this piece of brilliance! Well done Maatibani!
I remember, when I was in collage I used to hear this track repeatedly for 18 20 times daily. I was addicted to this song. So good to get another version of boondan boondan ,Nirali ma'am ,your voice is like magic. Amazing work, Thanks for sharing
The original version of this song is one of my all time monsoon favourites - I'll be honest, when you first dropped this, I did not think I was going to love this one. I was very skeptical to begin with, but I found myself getting more and more immersed in the track- and then when the bagpipes took off at 5:10, it was gratifying in ways I could not have imagined. Exquisite musicality and performance from everyone involved! Making a reprised version of a track that has been so loved can be a difficult decision because you know that it will be compared to the original- THANK YOU for taking this risk, for it gave us this beautiful gift.
To be honest I have never seen or heard anything like this. This song is a musical miracle that is touching and pleasing. The way they have used instruments from different regional backgrounds is just astonishing. The compositions and arrangement of this song is not done on this planet. This has to be from some other dimension . Love you guys kudos to the whole team thanks for creating this masterpiece 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Thank you maati baani, all the collaborating artists around the world and all the creative people who created this beautiful music for us. Wish you all good luck, love, peace, harmony and good health ! 🌹🍫
Old and new version of boondan song are amazing but in this new version all the musicians work is worth watching ,both classical and western music amalgamation is fantastic
This version is too good than earlier one. It's composition is very good. It looks like a professional musician.☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️😊😊😊👍👍👍👍👍👍💓💓💓💓💓 love from Maharashtra
I love this rendition....and I loved the previous one too but this one has a different vibe. Both versions are fabulous. Thanks so much for doing this!
Sorry dear but I love that 9 yr old song and that vibe ........ really sorry but I madly love that song that vibe if possible please make reshoot that song with same vibe and same music because that is master piece .....
Wonderful musical piece again !! Follwing Maati Baani for almost a year now. They are producing finest quality music every single time. May this group quickly achieve whatever goals they have set in. All the best !!
I believe the very melody and tune of Pirates of the Carribean comes from the essence of this raaga Bahar. No wonder why it so touches people everytime its played
Amazing, mesmerizing sing again by Maati Baani, with of course, the beautiful voice of Nirali Kartik. And in the pure modern tradition of coalescing the gems of India with the rest of the world
I'm a realy huge fan of the old version, So I had my apprehensions but they were blown away and how!!! Both songs are dear to me now, and this song is to be heard on your best music gear. So many nuances and details stuffed in.
I am extremely grateful for this song. Thankyou for including the tribal tunes. May our ancestors bless us all. And I truly believe this song can bring rain 💟💟💟💟💫💫💫💫

This is the epitome of musical creativity. The resonance it created by the harmony of traditional music from all over the globe. I have no words to describe how I felt when I was listening to this masterpiece. Thanks Maati Baani for this. A fellow Indian Rajasthani guy.
I've shared this Beautiful Music.. With My Mother & Friends. This is Truly Peaceful..Love to All Talented Musicians and Amazing Singer. Many Blessings on your Journeys. ✨💞🌿🎶💞✨
This song will make you feel like you’re doing your ibaadat. So divine and pure. Had chills throughout! Words can’t ever do justice to art of such excellency.
The collaboration is as amazing as always. Was really a risky move to reinterpret one of your best, most loved songs. The older version made me feel nostalgic and energised after a draining day. This version brings me calm and strength. Thank you.
The last two minutes are pure bliss. Different emotions flow through our bloodstreams, because it was so rhythmic like the dream we never wanted to end. Loved the bagpipe and Tao's Nagada.
Totally captivating and perfect message and sentiment for our current world. Love the haunting melody and singer vocal ability and range. Perfect - thank you.
If only I could tell you what this song made me feel... So many emotions in 1 song. The first time I heard, I got chills all over me. so beautiful and so different!
Namaste Maati Baani. Always a great pleasure to listen to your music with great collaboration from so much différent culture! As we said in France : merci beaucoup!!! 🤗🥰😋
Beautiful ! Mesmerizing. ofcourse I have heard the original version as well and seeing so many talented artists come together is wow. I loved the bagpipes especially. I don't know to express the feeling when listening to this but we all know how powerful music is and how all molecules dance to that
This song went from very interesting to very beautiful just by adding that singer. I have no idea what she is saying but I love to hear her sing. The music is so we'll played it is magical.
Beautiful!!! Nothing would beat the charm of the original for me, it's what made me a fan of maatibaani in the first place :) but this was amazing in its own right! All the collaborating musicians were amazing as usual and the addition of the Celtic melodies really enhanced it!
The lyrics are so magical, the vocals so beautiful, the composition so soulful... Whats there not to love abt this song? Especially the ecstasy ride at the end was pure gold! Love you Maati Baani!
What an amazing work by Maati Baani!! Composition and collaboration at it's peak!! I remember subscribing to this channel when i had heard the older boondan boondan. And this one too, is going to irreplaceable from my monsoon playlist, like the older one. Though, I miss the feel of 2 lead vocals in this song. It could have stirred out more juices i feel. But purity of your content and the perfection of this fusion is going to keep me playing it in loop. Thanks @Maati Baani
I woke up to this nourishing musical treat! I didnt know what I needed to start my day with until I heard this:) Who needs coffee now?;) Thank you Maati Baani! Much love 💞
