Ray and I discuss boondocking or dry camping in our new van, the Grech Terreno Ion 2023. We discuss how long our battery lasts, how long our tanks lasts, and how well the van does in the cold weather. #vanlife #grechrv #fulltimerv
Great video. We own a 2022 Terreno-Ion, have had it for just over a year now and love it. Have had a few minor issues but as you probably already know Grech has the best customer service on the planet . Also just a note on cold weather camping, something we do not do much of, the tank heaters are great but your macerator pump and retractable sewer hose are outside the van and not affected by the heaters. So in freezing weather it’s a good idea to add RV anti-Freeze to both your grey and black tanks after each dump and then run the macerator to fill it and the sewer hose with anti-freeze
Yes, totally agree that Grech has the best customer service ever !! Thanks so much for your suggestion. We were only in cold temps for a few weeks and didn’t have an issue with anything freezing luckily but maybe will try that out next time- hopefully not anytime soon because I hate the cold lol
@@LiannaDeBee we’ve been drinking out of the tank for a full year now without adding anything and have had no problem - as long as you fill up with potable water you should be just fine!!
Thought so. We have an Owl setup to carry other extra things like dog carrier and chairs. Frees up space behind couch/bed to carry extra solar. We love to dry camp and go to events that usually require dry camping. We have a Strada-Ion.
We don’t use the AC for more than an hour. I think we could go 3-4 days using electric, microwave, refrigerator, tv, charging laptops and phones without having to charge the battery. But the battery is also easily charged by idling the engine or driving so it’s really a non issue
Not sure which screens you were referencing ? The power screens that we put down at night? They are somewhat sealed. It’s great because it keeps the cool air out if it’s really cold out and also blocks heat if it’s really hot out.
@@selahrising They do hang tight to the bottom but aren’t totally sealed- we haven’t had a problem with bugs- we did have to add a bit of caulk to the side windows where the screens attached tho in the back there was a bit of space there
