I was getting bored watching other snooker content creators but finally someone’s who’s good and knows what they’re talking about (others do know what they are on about but he’s best) 😂
Love from Birmingham England You have helped my game so much before I watched the other snooker content creators I was not really learning anything but since watching you I have managed to change my break from regular 25s to regular 35s an 40s every time I play thank you 🙌🙌🙌
9:05 - Right, so I keep seeing this everywhere. Everyone tells you NOT to play side spin across the ball. To adjust your stance so you're still striking directly straight through the cueball only to one side or the other. Yet, when I watch people playing side, I ALWAYS see them striking very much across the ball. You are clearly doing it here, a lot.
wow i am so glad i discovered your channel you actually know what you're doing! you should consider commentating on some world class tournament matches too so you can explain what the players are doing and why they're doing that :) Definitely subbed, i'm from birmingham, uk
Smit Mehta from India - Mumbai I like the amount of efforts you put.. Not just in playing but also in video making and virtual coaching. Thanks keep it up.
Great lessons mate. I’m still rubbish but slightly less rubbish than I used to be. Made a 35 break ( my highest ever) yesterday. Your lessons help so much. I’ll never be great but some day I might be average!
You chuck your elbow out to your right when trying to put left hand side on it. No matter what side or top or bottom the cue needs to go straight. Steering the white is why you don’t get as much left as you can right. Go back and look at the end of the video and you’ll see it for yourself. Great content by the way. Gary - fro Belfast Northern Ireland
Unfortunately I have no real possibility to start playing snooker myself, but your content still is super entertaining and extremely impressive! Greetings from Hamburg, Germany
Nice video! I think one possible reason you can't put as much side spin on one side vs the other might be your center ball is actually off to one side. Reason I say this is because I have a lazy eye and I had major problem finding center ball. I was lucky I found a very very good coach and corrected this problem by a good margin. In short i now put the cue right under my dominant eye and when I get down first thing I do is find exactly where center ball is and things got much better since.
When using side - your technique changes for some reason depending on the right or left. Look again: when playing with left hand side you do a weird thing with the cue(elbow and shoulder), yet you get more result without it when playing with right hand side.
@@Breakfromlife Well, you are the pro=) I am sure you can work out a way to actually balance it out. Because at the moment it seems you are introducing a flaw to compensate for some other flaw(like Barry Stark usually says). Like Trump moves his whole body right before a shot to compensate for the incorrect aim.
Hey mate...wishing for your good health.. A question, can we change the side after getting down into the shot, by moving the bridge hand. One more thing, when we line a shot up our dominant eye is on that line ie behind the center of the cue ball, but if we are putting a side on the ball, where should our eye be, over the cue or behind the center of the cue ball, as there is a touch distance between the both. Thanks a ton :)
Hi, I really enjoy your videos and your style making them. I love snooker, but I play pool.. A year ago I bought a "low-deflection" cue, and now wondering what did I really buy? Can you explain, or link a video of yours if you have talked about it already? Then, if you'd like to put Finland under a pin, please place it on Turku city. :)
There's one thing no one ever mentions for improving your ability to get more spin. In clubs, people handle the cue ball a lot and they can get a bit greasy and simply cleaning them thoroughly with an alcohol wipe and then handling them as little as possible helps considerably.
Hello there! I am a regular follower of your videos,. Heres one thing I request you to make a video of. Everybody shows how to hit and where to hit in cue ball, but no one is explaining about how to practice amount of effort put in cue stick and how it matters. Also make a video of how to practice how much strength or force to use in what kind of shot and all - I hope you understand what I am requesting for. It is about how hard to hit in different kind of shot and how to practice - how hard to hit and making consistency in hitting with same amount of force or effort.
Hi. From taipa New Zealand. I was hoping you could have shown that old snooker balls (unpolished) and table felt plays a big part in spin?? My local club is reluctant to replace the balls after 30 years! Trying to get much spin is difficult. Maybe it's just me...
It can be difficult with nerves when you aren’t used to it but it gets better after a while. Mostly when you start getting a lot of shots going well you can play the game subconsciously for a while. So there are times when you need the intensity and times when things can happen naturally
the thing with kicks and the cue ball bouncing is that the energy that was put into it as spin is converted into upwards speed. SO it loses a lot of spin
Can you help me .....? Soon has I strike the white I don’t follow it through...can you help me to get out of this Habit Thanks Mate....Great vids BA Pete from Kettering......👍🤓🇬🇧
Since this video is about spin, I'm moving my comment here...Break from life will attempt any challenge? OK, then, here's a shot from Jimmy White's Snooker Masterclass (book) that I could never make.... the cue ball goes on either the green or yellow spots and the object ball goes on the blue spot. The shot is played with maximum side to pot the ball in the straighter top pocket (left side of table (looking from baulk) if the cue ball is on the yellow - played with left hand side). The ball is potted and the cue ball, given enough side, travels up the table, and spins off the cushion to go the other side of the black, i.e. it ends up on the same side as the target pocket. I was never able to generate enough spin to do this but, since I was able (when I practised a lot) to make all the other shots in this book, I assume it must be possible, and that JW isn't the only person who can do it. Want to try it?
I've got my cue now i got a good deal on it I think it was £100 but got it on sell for £45. Been playing 3 hours a day for the past 4 days. Snooker ain't as easy as pool could you do or do you have a video to help with this. As I am a top pool player but snooker I'm way off I no to keep at it but fort I would of been better then I am because of playing pool thanks Glen Brighton
Film yourself with your phone Glen and look for the tell tale signs of movement on the strike. One true mantra: you hit what you're looking at, so as you strike the cue ball, you don't look at the cue ball, you don't look at the pocket, you don't look at a ball you wish to cannon, you look only at the contact point on the object ball, nothing else. Adopt good snooker stance fundamentals, if you have an upright pool stance then get that chin down on the cue. Check your cue action along the baulk line, if the cue isn't bang on the baulk line from tip to butt then shift your feet in your stance until it is and find a pre shot routine that puts you in this position every time.
@@vmax4steve524 I'll recorded myself the next time I'm playing and then watch it back to see where I'm going wrong. I'll make sure to remember what you have said thanks
Cool...hello from Pakistan .. I recently start watching your videos and I swear my game is getting hell more better day by day...I have learnt some of your moves 😉...feels great to see your videos man...am a huge fan..of your recreation snooker shots videos...
These videos even have A LOT OF IMPACT on Pool players like me. I am currently sharpening my Massey shots, im OK but am still no where near your level in your show offs video. Im Joe Chadburn Leeds Uk.
It takes a lot more than you expected to get up to pro level. Knowing what to do, why and how to do something does not mean you can actually do it and do it consistently. Apart from techniques , there are aspects like tactics, mental condition, endurance, etc., which may be something that a pro player truly stands out from an amateur player.
Here's a couple of things Break from life doesn't know, with regard to tried and tested physics. 1. Jumping a CB in the air, if anything increases the amount of follow distance, given the same amount of spin. 2. Overspin is almost impossible to perform, no examples in pro play. Hitting the CB at about 70% of it's height produces the natural rolling speed required for maximum follow efficiency. While his editing is impressive, he knows very little about the studied science of billiard physics.
I agree with your points apart from 1. When the ball is bouncing, as it lands it will lose a lot of rotation as it beds itself into the cloth momentarily. Also did you read that overspin on the snooker forums a while back? I think I saw a similar post a while back
@@dnbmania Admittedly the physics on bouncing effects are unclear, but given a bouncing ball moves forward after impact, one can make an argument for greater follow. I think he mistook this effect for hitting down on a CB, which reduces follow significantly. Dr. Dave has some good videos on overspin. It occurs in minimal margins, almost never practical in game play.
@@colincolenso I've read a few of dr Dave's papers it's very interesting what he has done. His videos on the interaction between the balls and the effect on the angles at various different speeds and rotations helped my game a lot
