DAYUUMM! One of the freshest engine bays for these Yota pickups ive seen. Im out here in Long Beach CA and ive been looking to get my hands on a 90-93 short bed for a minute but prices been outta control. Either that or the same era Honda CRX, I remember when you could scoop both them up all day every day at cheap prices but theyre getting harder and harder to come by.. Amazing build tho man, thanks for the share.
Congratulations friend. What a nice itch you have. I have a Toyota of 93 and it is my new project. But how beautiful the turbo looks and everything you put on it.
The more boost you run the less compression ratio you want. 9.5:1 is perfect for 10 psi but if you ever want to push the boost up to 20 you’re way better off at 8.5:1.
Fucking sick!! Some mechanics don't like the heavy duty Timing kit because with oem timing plastic guides you can hear chain slap when chain gets old and stretched.
Damn, I have owned my ‘85 Toyota Pu for 7yrs. Total stock. Live in So.Cal so when I put in a new radiator I removed the thermostat. It runs cold and I like that.
clean truck man, very nice. Only issue is as much money you spent under the hood, You could have easily 2jz swapped this thing for less money.... and make more power on stock boost level..
Thanks man appreciate that. I have no issues on my end I did what I wanted to do. I wanted to stick to the roots and do something different. There are so many 2jz swapped trucks/cars out there but very few 22r/re. I’ll probably do a swap on another truck or car but for now I’m good.
Hello, thank you for posting this video it inspired me to go out and turbo my own 22R! I do have a question about your fuel pump. I am running a walboro 190 and I think that it is too much for a blow through application. My regulator will not adjust lower than 9psi of fuel pressure and I'm flooding like crazy. You mentioned that your using a 30 GPH pump and I wanted to ask which one you're using? All the ones I can find specify that they are 3.5-4psi and I know I need more than that when boost is coming on.
super clean toyota pickup bro. one day I hope to own one like this. does the 89-95 grill, bumper and headlight assembly just bolt onto this gen? or did you have to fabricate adaptors?
I had my windshield guy install a universal rubber seal when I replaced it. He brought it over with the glass and It looked good so I went with it. The body was prepped and painted without the trim so the finish around it is clean.
