Dude you need to stop making me want to buy all these toys :D :D :D Dam that looks fun!!! Question is how easy to vlog on one of those compared to the One Wheel?
Yeeeeeaaaaah man!! I really was so happy for you to get it (I'm not really sure why so much!)! I'm waiting to get mine delivered and I'm sooo sure that my reaction will be the same as yours!! Have fun Matti!!!
I normally show my son your posts, since they are full of good information and/or inspirational. But I can't let him see this one or he'll be begging me to this. Heck... I gotta stop myself from going out and impulse shop!
You are a pro. You were enthusiastic yet told us what you did not like. You admitted you had limited experience on electric scooters so we understood your perspective. You gave us footage, and made it fun. I got my personal REV today, USA, Birmingham, AL. Your review makes me want to take my second ride. My fever from my flu tells me to wait until tomorrow. Lol. Good job
Occasionally met Matti, while I was picking up my daughter from daycare in the Town! I`m a huge Matti Fan! Such a humble guy! We had a little conversation. Me and my wife were really impressed by his personality! That`s why he is so successful. I wish him all the best. Hard work, talent dedication, being happy/grateful and work ethic will take you anywhere! And Matti is all that and way more! Reach for the STARS my friend!
Great review! Love your videos! I received my Rev today and took it for a spin! I agree with (almost) everything you said in your review. The scooter is absolutely beautiful. The build quality is insane. Top notch. The acceleration and speed are nuts. I took it to over the stated 24mph top speed downhill and the thing felt so damn safe (this was my first time riding an electric scooter and I barely thought twice about going that fast on this thing)... Now for the bad... If you want to have fun at the top end (i.e. Level 3), the range is actually pretty disappointing. We're talking significantly less than the stated 22 miles (like 10 miles... If that!) - SIGNIFICANTLY less. For that reason, I've emailed boosted to see what they say, but I'm happy with everything other than the range for this product! (but range anxiety was definitely an issue for me, especially on my first ride!)
I'm seriously thinking about getting something like this for my commute to work. If I could just leave my car in the garage until winter every year, it'd be worth the $$!
Wished the handle bars folded as some scooters have for carrying and storing reasons. However, you could buy separately but you need to check that the dual clip at rear wheel would accommodate it?
My question is, if you ride it to a store, or to the gym, or a doctor's office, or where ever; security and parking is going to be a huge issue. Most especially in places like Toronto where bike theft is rampant. I've been considering one of these for a while, and waiting for municipal and provincial laws to accommodate them first. Bird scooters are doing a 2 week pilot in the distillery district right now. Parking definitely and theft are two priority issues that need addressing. Then safety of course, you can order speed limitation direct from the dealers if needed.
As a Rev owner I can say you won’t go 22 miles. If you read how they got that range Boosted says they used 160lb rider on a flat, smooth surface with no wind and maintained 6mph. I’ve tested it in mode 1 (top speed 13mph) which is slow but reasonable and was only able to get 15.3 miles 100%-0%. Mode 2 will get 10-12. Mode 3 gets 7-9. Keep that in mind before buying it for your commute or as a toy.
@Bjorn thanks for the info. I said the same thing about my Bird One I bought for $1,299. They claimed 30 mile range. I weigh 200lbs and I only got 10-12 miles on a full charge. I’m in the process of returning my Bird One. I’m still thinking about getting the Boosted Rev even if I’ll get only 10 miles on a charge just because the battery only takes 3 hrs to charge. My Bird One took 6 hrs to charge from 0-100%.
I was commuting with a Luna Apocalypse v2 for about six months. That thing ran on go-kart tires, had hydraulic brakes and legit goes 35mph. I sold it after my commute changed but I was always worried about warranty service. Definitely not something you have to worry about with boosted
My WideWheel goes 25 mph and I went up steep hills in Monterey. Drove it 25 miles at 25mph , from Marina to Pacific Grove. Cost less and I put a seat on mine as well. Has cruise control, too.😁😁

Race? I think just looking at the specs we can instantly say a Onewheel would lose every time hands down. Can only hit around 30km/h before it tips you back. E-Bikes regulated under law will hit motor shut-off at 32km/h in Canada. Some S-Pedelecs tho can reach 45km/h but at that point are generally legally considered mopeds. The Rev has a top speed of ~38pm/h. If racing on flat ground against a normal E-Bike and Onewheel, it'll win. Uphill, also will probably win considering the bike is partially reliant on the user pedaling for power. I'd say a more in-depth comparison of the three would be more reasonable than a simple drag race.
A rubber power modulator wheel would be terrible for people with sweaty hands. My hands are super clamy and slip a lot on the plastic boosted board control wheel. I think with continued use of the one on the rev you would build up a small calais just like anything else.
I kept thinking that Editor Matt reminded me of someone and I could never quite lock it in but finally this video has enlightened me. Editor Matt is simply Kenneth Parcell from 30 Rock with glasses.
Looks cool and safer than some other options out there. Though, I bet it's harder to vLog from. All the rental users give these things bad press around here. Hopefully that will change as it looks like fun way to explore an area.
@Matti Haapoja is one of those social media influencer who not only influence me but others I created my channel and I am doing reactions and vlogs I only have a nokia 2 phone with a crappy camera but instead of giving up I am giving my best with that thanks Matti you don't know how much you influence people YOU ARE THE MAN luv your content bro.
hopefully they will lift the ban on all electric scooters over 200 w in Australia so us adults can use these instead of cars so much better value. they look so good !
Is it really bumpy because there is no shocks? I had the Ninebot max which was great until you rode on uneven pavement that made it so bumpy and not pleasurable to ride.
How tall are you guys. Sometimes you can't figure out scale and this time is one of them. If your all like 5' 8" or if your all over 6' it'll help Us gauge the size. Many things are disappointingly small when your 6' 3", back starts to hurt cause your bent over and all. Thanks guys, I'm really looking to buy two of these for my kids this holiday but my kids are tall. My Daughter is 5' 11' and son 6' 3".
This thing looks amazing, I'd love to own one of these. Design looks incredible the 22 mile range is fantastic and that top speed is just awesome. My one question to you Matti, it will be interested to know when using the Regenerative Brakes system how much more miles does it give you to the charge? Richard
Richard French I was one of the first few people to take delivery of the Rev when it first launched and I can definitely say that you will NOT get more than 20 miles of range and if you’re hardcore and ride in mode 3 all the time you probably won’t even get 12. So, while the regenerative braking is cool and efficient the scooter’s sheer power combined with its relatively small battery pack make it only feasible for trips under 6 miles......unless you ride in beginner mode or standard mode which let’s be real you probably won’t with this thing. Still, I am head over heels in love with it still and have zero regrets! It’s too bad Boosted went out of business because they probably would’ve improved it year-over-year to make it even better!
Jonny Visuals get a ninebot from costco. You can buy three at this price and it has cruise control. This review is extremely one sided and basically paid advertising. Costco let’s you return it for a year no questions asked.
I would be surprised if boosted didn't pay him for this review. It's rigid just like all other scooters. Boosted is known for their "bounciness" in their boards which is more forgiving on bumps, he said this doesn't have it at all, which should mean going over bumps and rough terrain should be a rough experience.
