Airbus’ 544-seat, double-deck A380 is opening up new opportunities for these airports, as well as their passengers and airlines. With its superior spaciousness, efficiency and comfort, A380 is helping major international hubs and airports in emerging markets across the globe increase revenue, boost capacity, free up slots at their gates, and reduce landing fees. Featured in the video are Fred Lam, CEO of Hong Kong International Airport; John Holland-Kaye, Chief Executive Officer of Heathrow Airport; and Kiran Rao, Airbus’ Executive Vice President of Marketing and Strategy.

How proud I am of Airbus that we have the biggest plane on Earth and it's so beautiful! People are always saying bigger planes like the a380 are needed no more and only two engines are the best would have some sense in their coconuts now and they should expect a much bigger plane from Airbus (the leading Aircraft manufacturer)

+Andrew Anane We don't, the Russian Antonov 225 is the biggest

OK, so we come to a conclusion of Antonov AN-225 Mriya being the biggest plane on earth and the a380-800 the biggest passenger plane. I'm proud of Airbus.

Wouldn't it make a lot more sense for Airbus to create a new subsidiary that concentrates purely on the creation of a profitable A380neo? But not like the A320neo. I'm talking new wings, new engines, better cockpit & cabin, more passengers and more customization for airlines.
@ivan_friends5953
@ivan_friends5953 8 лет назад
Aka a330neo
@D4shEight
@D4shEight 8 лет назад
+Ivan_Friends/IvanWorldLiner nope. The 330neo is just a modernization of the A330. I'm talking about a modernization of the A380 with a capacity of about 800-900 passengers.
@ivan_friends5953
@ivan_friends5953 8 лет назад
+D4shEight a380 can take a max of 853.
@D4shEight
@D4shEight 8 лет назад
+Ivan_Friends/IvanWorldLiner no shit, that's why I'm talking about an A380neo with an improved cabin, wings and engines to accommodate more passengers.

A 380 orders wil come it is inevitable
@shaddyhacker
@shaddyhacker 8 лет назад
+John Rooijakkers No it's not. They just have 319 orders. By 2020 they were projecting to have 1200. They can only bank on orders from Emirates but they will saturate as well. So good luck with that.
@johroo
@johroo 8 лет назад
+shaddyhacker I am confident because it is the only solution for the future problems at the airports. The 747 took more than 20 years prior to the succes of the 744

If the A380 is that good, why no one wants to buy them?
@WelshTCC1
@WelshTCC1 8 лет назад
+Rui Dias Oh they do! It's just costly
@Horizon301.
@Horizon301. 8 лет назад
It's mainly due to the fact they need to use them on busy routes but it can affect the schedule for example tow flights to New York using two B777 one in the morning and one in the evening this will be better then one A380 flight and there is more choice for people
@Jefford717
@Jefford717 8 лет назад
It's risky. A380 is only good financially speaking when about 80-90% full which majority of the current operator struggle to do like Malasia airline, Air france and thai airways. Also keep in mind that A380 lacks the cargo capacity to carry revenue cargo that is why Cathay Pacific passed on it.
@jarkiiaviation4643

+Rui Dias They can't roll em out of the factory like a 737 or a320
@ChristopherRangon
@ChristopherRangon 8 лет назад
+Rui Dias Some Airports cannot handle them #1. #2 Most American companies do not even have Boeing 747 aircrafts, they do not even want to invest in 4 engine aircrafts. As someone said before they will most like get Boeing 777s and run them. I know for example when I work at JFK there are about 3-5 London flights in the evening with Boeing 777 instead of there being huge jumbo aircrafts instead. #3. The Airbus A380 is an aircraft that costs about $400 million USD which is really not that expensive (once you find a good investment) #4) There are not always going to be a full flight of 550 people every Airbus A380 flight while on a Boeing 777 you can guarantee sitting 250-300 passengers each flight will be much more profitable for them. #5) The A380 is the most advanced aircrafts, that uses complex computers, rollys royce engines that are 25 million each and a cockpit that is very complex to maintain. It needs updates always and it needs to be up to date. If you look this from a business standpoint, the amount of customers coming on, and the amount of fuel being burned with 4 engines instead of 2, even though the Airbus A380 is better it initially costs more money unless you can guarantee an investment back.

Airbus will axe A380. Orders are not sustainable.

Airbus will not axe the A380, now it has reached the break even..! And there's still a great market for it. And on top of it, it has been really successful for the market that it represents.

A gimmicky video to encourage to buy A380 which will dissappear soon because of weak demand!
