I really enjoy your videos! I've been trying to commute between Threekings and the airport, but it's been a challenge in the cold and the Hendry Avenue climb on always gets me 😅. What do you generally wear for winter cycling?
Hey thanks! Yes that hill climb is brutal. I might do a video on it. For my winter commuting I wear standard bike lycra with merino shorts over the top. On my top I wear a winterised Katmandu jacket and I carry a light rain jacket if needed. Leg/arm warmer things work well. I commute on flat pedals with trainers. I find it’s quicker taking off especially around Auckland’s roundabouts. Gloves and def a buff wrapped around my nose and ears. That really helps. Thanks for your feedback😀
I live in the desert south west, in the state of New Mexico. I'll just mention how impressed I'm regrading the roads you're riding on. They seem to be unusually well maintained. I commute to work virtually everyday. Our problem is the beat up roads and brutal heat.😮💨🥵 40-42 C° not uncommon at all 🤨.
Hey thanks, that's really interesting feedback. My recent RU-vid short was a rant about a particularly bad section we have here in Auckland but apart from that one, the rest is pretty good and getting better. I spent a few weeks in Prescott AZ a few years ago. Just loved it, the light and space of it all. 🚴🏻♂️ And yes, hot!
