Never piss off a pregnant person period, but definitely don’t mess with us when we’re in labor! I speak from experience-our older daughter was born after a short labor that actually involved an ambulance ride (long story), and my husband swears to this day that when they were getting me into the ambulance I actually threatened to catheterize the poor paramedic with his own IV needle because he was insisting that I get an IV even though I didn’t want or need one!
I love the evolution of Temperance Brennan! Her character came a long way. From season 1 where she basically accepted being alone against marriage and children forever to being married, a mom and friend. Even her protectiveness over her squints. Booth was what she needed and thank god he’s the guy that knew. I literally ended every episode saying omg they’re so cute☺️. One of my absolute favorite tv couples❤️
Years later I still don't understand why they couldn't have made it to the hospital. Then again: never argue with Bones; never argue with a pregnant lady
I love the show and this scene was pretty good but the editing was funky. When she's holding the baby and they're both looking at her but then they switch to just looking at the baby it's pretty clear that they didn't shoot both angles at the same time. I don't know it just looks a little odd 😅
This is a really weird scene considering the easiest position to give birth in is squatting down while upright. The only reason they make women do it on their backs at the hospital is for the sake of convenience for the doctor. Bones would surely know that considering she's a forensic anthropologist and all, and yet the writers make her lie on her back! It's just very jarring to see
Totally tangential but I read somewhere that the whole thing of lying down while birthing started because of some weirdo king who liked to watch the birth.... I mean... And I've made it clear to my husband that when it's my turn, there will be no lying down... I'm gonna get myself one of those holistic birthing rooms with all the correct aids to help natural birth...
When our older daughter was born, we couldn’t go to the birth center we’d chosen because the midwife who ran it was on vacation that week and the one on call wasn’t licensed in that state (we live in MD, the birth center was in PA, and the on-call midwife was licensed in MD and was from WV), so we had to go to the county hospital, which is been trying to avoid in the first place because they had virtually no amenities for homelike natural childbirth. Then my contractions suddenly shot down from 4 minutes apart to 40 seconds apart, so my husband (who was a volunteer firefighter at the time; I still am) spazzed out and called 911. To make matters even crazier, I had just completed EMT training at the same ambulance company that got dispatched three months earlier and to top it all off the paramedic on the unit was one of my preceptors from the class!
Not super crazy. But with my second the nurse ignored me saying I was needing to push & the doctor didn’t come check on me for hours after. By the time they finally cared to actually check in I’d managed to nearly birth my own daughter with my mom’s help. Her head was out & her shoulders were pretty much out. They asked why didn’t I say anything. Ummm. I DID!
I always get second hand embarrassment for actresses who have to give birth on front of the camera… acting I mean. Omg lol. I’m not gonna lie. I fast forwarded thru that.
Why do they always show women lying down to give birth?? It is literally the most unnatural position possible. Women who can choose their own position will probably squat or choose some other position
I would want have babies in the future and the safest place would be hospital I agree with sweets saying that is more safer place to give birth in the hospital
I use to like this show. However, when the sexual relationship started and the baby was born I did really care for it anymore. Maybe, they should have turned it into the Waltons.
